Underworld: Next Generation

I don't understand why Speedman isn't signing on. It's not like he's A or even B list. What's he doing these days?

I think he's on the Animal Kingdom show these days, but still. He must really not want to do these anymore.

He must not because it's definitely not a concern of availability or pricing.

And I still want to know what's up with Selene and Michael's daughter from the last movie. As far as I can tell she won't be in this movie in any context...they haven't gotten the actress from the last film & the character hasn't been recast.

I'm stumped on this.

Trailer is going to drop soon.

I will see this for Beckinsale in a tight leather outfit.

I always thought the first film plotline had potential to be its own series. Eh.

That's the thing though. Five films in, their only consistent selling point is Kate in a killer outfit. Not to compare apples to oranges, but remember where the Fast & Furious films were five films in?

I'm a fan of the series, but my biggest problem with the first film was killing off the best characters and the reason for the lycan vs vampire feud in the first place. It's just not the same without Viktor and Lucian imo.

In terms of actual quality as a film, Rise of the Lycans was probably the best since it really focused on those two (and let Sheen and Nighy really show off their stuff), and the roots of the conflict.

I actually thought that the last film had the right idea (bringing humans into it in a big way) if you want to progress things forward. It was just the execution that was lacking.

They definitely lost their way after the 3rd film. It's really complicated now when they should've kept it simple.

And honestly, after seeing their origins and what they go through due to the vampires, seeing the Lycans as the main antagonists of Awakening just felt weird too.

It should have just been humans imo. Making it some kind of weird Lycan conspiracy was lame.

All of that last Underworld movie was lame. It was also curiously short. Under 90 minutes if I remember correctly. I'm a big fan of the franchise, but every story decision in the last one seemed to come straight out of the writers ass.

It looks better than the last Underworld, but what the hell is with Selene's super hair? She gets blonde highlights and is now even stronger? Did I get that right?

Good trailer! Looks like it's gone back to the style of the first film :D
What was with the hair and fur coat? She a super God immortal now !

Charles Dance has really found him a niche in the *******/Magnificent Bastard Dad/Grandpa role these days.

looks very straight to dvd

The franchise has always had that feeling. Even the first one wasnt much bigger than some HBO and premium cable productions.

What I want to know is if this one will be another 88 minute tv length film.

I really hated that about the last one.
