Yeah, I love WD, but there's still so much more that could be done to better the game that I'm hoping for in the inevitable sequel.

What are some of y'all hoping for in the next installment? One thing I'd like to see is a little more challenge and a little more realism regarding certain aspects of hacking --- for instance, the online thievery part. It is unbelievably simple to just loot *everyone* and *everything* and get filthy stinking rich almost immediately, without doing anything more than just strolling casually down the street with iPhone in hand. Let some of the theft victims actually *notice* their accounts are getting hacked. Let some of the victims have strong enough firewalls to protect their money from guys like Aiden, including hack alerts that contact police. Let Aiden unintentionally download viruses and trojans. Make him *work* for it, you know?

Could definitely use some better characterization on the protagonist front, too. As far as plot and dialogue goes, WD is great, and everything I've come to expect from Ubisoft writers; but they've still got a tendency to make their protagonists universally bland and colorless. Being an earnest, Batman-style badass is to be expected in all the Ubisoft games, but Watch Dogs, in particular, could use a protagonist who's got more geek cred and seems more like a believable hacktivist. Aiden is like, I dunno, Edward Norton playing Edward Norton in Every Role He's Ever Been In. The other hackers in the game seem "real," like what you'd expect a hacker to look and/or act like. Aiden acts more like a hit man than a hacker.

What are you guys hoping for in a possible sequel?

There were some straight up BS segments in this game. Without spoiling anything, there is a story mission that has you on a rooftop against a boss when all of a sudden a bunch of enemies literally appeared in front of me and ambushed me. They didn't come out of a room or anywhere logical. They appeared out of thin air once the boss said the prompt for them to come as if it was a magic spell. WTH?

Sequel? They need to ditch Aidan. What a bland protagonist. Before playing, I read that he would be but that the side characters made up for it but none of them were particularly interesting either. I hope there is a new main character and ne with a bit more personality. I get that given the nature of the story, things had to be kept serious and cold but everything about the characters seemed so stiff. I hope the next game is a bit more light hearted. Give us someone who isn't so moody and depressed all the time. They need to create memorable characters bc the one in this game were quite forgettable, which was probably one of the reasons I wasn't feeling the story and felt things could be a chore after several hours and not really connecting to it.

yeah, that rooftop scene didn't make sense in that regard, and the boss fight was anticlimatic to say the least.

I think aiden works in the context of that story, but he's no sequel material. His story is done imo. Let them work on how he inspired people now.

I wouldn't say Ubi always make bland characters. Ezio is one of the best video games characters ever. Edward, while not as amazing, is still really great. The same goes for Adewale. Aveline was also great in Liberation.

Let's hope that Arnaud will be a memorable protagonist in unity as well.

I think WD2 should also have a coop option for the main campaign. this is totally the kind fo games that could make it awesome.

I actually like Aiden quite a bit and also think the voice acting work was pretty darn good. I want to see where his story goes next and how he expands on his skills/tactics in the next game. Also, I want to see Aiden vs. DeadSec (which they teased in this game), not some new guy vs. DeadSec.

If you watched the scenes during the end credits of the game, you'll see that the story has a lot of interesting places it can go. Now that Aiden's family ties are sort of out of the way and he's gotten his retribution (to a certain extent), it sort of frees up the story to move away from the revenge tale they had going on in this one.

That's true. I too liked Aiden. His french voice actor is amazing. He's the dude who dubs for Brad Pitt and Jim Caviezel.

To me, I dont feel Aiden is essential to the premise behind this game. With the ending telling us that the [blackout]ctOS is expanding to other cities,[/blackout] it seems like the perfect oppurtunity to move the game elsewhere and show how this is affecting someone else. Im okay with him showing up as an NPC, not I dont think he's needed as a protagonist anymore. Let his role be served as some hacking genius that the player seeks out, similar to relationship Aiden had with his supporting cast. Personality wise, Id love it if a new game were more like Delsin from Infamous. Id want the story to not be about some guy being a manipulated puppet, but a true hacker that tries to manipulate the system and gets in way over his head as he pisses off the wrong people

You make some good points. Also, A Delsin like would be great. Him and his brother were really great.

Well, you have stated how you didn't like this game, and it seems like you pretty much want a sequel to have very little resemblance to the original game.

Yes, the expansion to other cities is mentioned, but that could also give the developers an excuse to simply create an even more expansive open world for Aiden which isn't limited to only Chicago. All in all, there's just so much more to explore about Blume and ctOS in general, and Aiden has played an integral role in all of it so far. He has more to do, IMO.

I'd totally be open to a next-generation hacker taking over the role of protagonist down the line. Even with Deslin in inFAMOUS 2nd Son, that wasn't in the direct sequel to the first inFAMOUS. It was 5 years after the original game dropped and Deslin became the central character after Cole's story came to a close.

I think both of you make really valid points. Maybe they could let you play several protagonists, like in GTAV. But what would be really great would if each protagonist was in a different city. For instance, you would play Aiden in chicago, someone else in Detroit.... and they would work together.

Then you could team up and do "Co-op hacks" which take more than one hacker to accomplish. Could be interesting. They probably wouldn't make two totally different cities like that though. But who knows!

Watch Dogs DLC Detailed

Watch Dogs Season Pass holders may have had the content for a week, but starting today everyone else can download the DLC on all platforms that adds new missions and weapons. The DLC costs $7 and adds three single-player missions: The Palace, Signature Shot and Breakthrough. In The Palace players must break into the luxury palace of an Internet mogul, wipe his hard drives that contain data on thousands of people, silence the mogul, and then get out before a police raid begins. Signature Shot tasks players with breaching the stronghold of a captain of the Black Viceroys gang, stealing a powerful biometrics weapon that imprints on the first user, and ensuring that they are the first to imprint it. Finally, Breakthrough sees players disabling scrambler vehicles so they can infiltrate a secret meeting between the Chicago South Club and Corporate CEOs to kill everyone inside. It also adds the Biometric Rifle and the Auto-6 pistol, along with a battery boost, the new South Chicago outfit, a perk to speed up reloads and reduce recoil, a driving upgrade, and an ATM hack to boost money received.
The DLC is available today on PlayStation 3, PlayStation 4, Xbox 360, Xbox One, and PC.

I bought this when it came out. It's been collecting dust since then. Just haven't found motivation to play it. I got about half way through.

Just finished this game last night. That last mission was one of the most frustratingly difficult missions of any game I've played in recent years. It was next to impossible to complete in one go. Overall though this was an enjoyable game but if anything it's wet my appetite for GTA5 on the PS4, hopefully a fully next gen open world game.

Watch Dogs DLC tease rats out Camden, New Jersey

According to a new tweet from the official Watch Dogs Twitter account, Camden, New Jersey was the most crime-ridden US city in 2012. That's not at all true, but it's apparently a solid enough fiction for a DLC tease.

"Our data indicates surveillance has become more prominent in high-crime areas," the account states before linking to the above infographic. First, let's debunk that core claim. Depending on how you categorize crime, the dubious honor of highest US crime rates in 2012 would go to either Detroit or St. Louis. Camden doesn't even make the top-10 lists (though Newark, New Jersey ranked among the highest crime rates per capita in 2011). Despite this, the Twitter account claims that "a surveillance program is now in effect."

Shortly after the tweet was issued, a fan did the sensible thing and plainly asked if this cryptic message was related to upcoming DLC. Watch Dogs fans have long been waiting for the first installments of the singeplayer campaign promised by the game's Season Pass, and based on the Twitter account's brief reply - "Coming this fall" - it's probably safe to assume Camden, New Jersey plays some part in the additional content. How exactly is anyone's guess, so please deposit those guesses in the comments below.

Like a lot of people in the world, I have all of the trophies except for the drinking games. Not sure I have the patience to finish this, but it feels wrong not to.

The game was pretty cool. I liked the whole hacking system for combat. It was weird you couldn't shoot out a car window while trying to take someone down. But I guess it was about different combat styles. The story was okay, but it always seems that most games revolve around the main guy having crap going on in his life and to save a sibling or something. I didn't feel anything for Aiden. There was no emotion connection. Not like with AC and Ezio. Loads of people loved him and we grew up with him. Aiden didn't seem to have much depth. It was difficult to connect with him. Part from that the game was cool, not much replay value for me. Haven't played it since I completed it.

So they released a patch which has quite a few nice changes. One being that they made the drinking game easier. This trophy is the only one I need for platinum. I tried it last night for a few minutes and now they are too easy. I should have platinum tonight!

Well, I think one of the things that made AC to AC2 such a leap is that the original AC was really just a piece of ****. It lived on the novelty of recreating an era rarely seen in games and a passable combat system, but it was an overly repetitive and dull game. I haven't got a chance to play Watch Dawgs, yet, but I hope the situation is at least different in that regard.

yeah, WD is great, but I think they will definitely develop its full potential in the next game.

As predicted yesterday, I obtained the platinum trophy. If you were previously trying to complete the drinking game and failing like me, I beat them all on one try now.

It is. WD is by no means a bad game. AC1 had ALOT of room for improvement. WD does as well but not nearly as much. It did so much more right
