Gangster Squad - 8/10
I don't know what the hell the reviews are talking about. I guess every gangster film must be like The Untouchables and L.A. Confidential where it must be deep and ultra dramatic to be good. This had a good three act structure with everything being pretty clear. I'm glad to see this period gangster film having fun with itself in its characters and violence. I also dug how comic booky it was at times. It's pure fluff, and that's okay because I enjoyed it.
Same here, I love it as a pulp gangster film.

The only thing that bugged me was showing the culprit to the audience first rather than letting us solves the mystery alongside Reacher.
Never would've worked. If you played the opening without seeing the shooter, you'd immediately know that the movie was holding something back and that it couldn't be Barr.
Uhm yeah... that's kind of the whole point of a mystery movie is that it's never cut and dry. Putting the audience ahead of the protagonist is always a bad move.
