"meh"
this coming from a long time fan...
I dont buy it right now, but I do respect the art / writing as "good" if not excellent...
It just doesnt jive with what i expect from an Avengers book.
BTW i do work at a bookstore,so i read every issue..just dont feel like buying this one.
I buy T-bolts instead.
yeah...TheCorpulent1 said:Thunderbolts has kind of been sucking lately.![]()
It was great for the first half-dozen issues of the new series. I think it started going downhill around that whole deal with Baron Strucker. I've gotten pretty bored of the current theme of manipulation on top of manipulation on top of manipulation. First it was Baron Strucker, then it was the Purple Man, then it was Homeland Security with Ms. Marvel and (inexplicably) Hank Pym, then it was Baron Strucker again, then it was Baron Zemo, then we learned that most of those previous ones weren't really doing anything, it was really Zemo and the Moonstones all along. Twists are one thing, but Niceiza's spiraling around and around and going nowhere except downhill. Genis' death was probably the worst move he could've made on one hand, but it was a perfect cap-off to the awful way he's handled Genis since the beginning of the series.Elijya said:yeah...
actually, really it's been kinda sucky since about #50 of the first series. Not saying it's a peice of crap right now, but it's not that great either, IMO

these are my sentiments decompression most of allHarlekin said:Why I don't like the New Avengers? They aren't the Avengers. The Avengers were the big epic heroes, now they've been reduced to fighting ninjas. Not to mention that I don't particularly care for the writing itself, but the stories and ideas have little to no connection with the Avengers mythology and decompression rules the book.
Heck, try and compare it to Busiek's first 17 issues. You've got a team quickly assembled, stories drawn on Avengers history without you needing to have read those stories, and some actual gosh darn character development.
Doc Destruction said:I would agree with that.
NateGray said:I disagree just because someone likes NA you do exactly what you tell people not to do with you and make generalizations.
So its ok for people who do not like NA to make generalizations but not people who do like it????
Sorry works both ways....
I like NA and know all about the avengers history.... been collecting 30+ years.
So that really bunks that theory huh.
roach said:I've actually found that Nu Avengers fans arent Avengers fans
NateGray said:LMAO
Wrong I happen to like NA and the original avengers.
See I find it funny that people that do not like NA tend to over generalize and just make crap up to suit there case.
To bad its just not true.
Darthphere said:Not really, youre a minority. Most people that said theyve liked new Avengers admit they never read Avengers and thought the team was lame but OMG WTF??!?! Spider-Man and Wolverine, I had to buy it.
NateGray said:My liking NA has nothing to do with Wolverine or Spiderman being on the team.
Now Spiderman I tend to like on the team but I agree with most Wolverine is just being used for his name and doesn'treally fit the team even though I love his interaction with Spidey.
Darthphere said:Im glad your enjoying, since thats all you really get from the book. Dialogue.
NateGray said:In our opinion.
I think like most comic books it has some good stories and some weak ones.
I agree the ninja story line was weak since any one of the team except maybe ronin should have been able to take out the ninja's easy.
That doesn't mean they are all weak stories as you imply.
In your opinion of someone who outrighthates NA sure you are going to try and spinit that way.
Its just not true though all comics have good and bad stories.

gildea said:not really true the action sequences with the ninjas and wrecker were multiple pages.
Doc Destruction said:The Wrecker fight was a rare instance when the fight scene was good, and if you remember, it got a lot of praise around here.
Harlekin said:And you know you've got trouble when you need the entire team to take out the Wrecker and Sauron.
