Um what constitutes something thats 'needed' in comic books?

What did you think of #18 phere?

I really enjoyed it but I acctually do have some observations

1. Did anyone notice how Spidey was supposed to go LEAD "team two" and team two appears to be composed solely of himself?

2. Also it kind of bugged me that we are back where we started. Sure the fact that the Collective is all the powers of the depowered mutants is a shock to our heroes but I almost yawned when I saw that spread on the last page (Deadato's art is so up and down its crazy)

Some good action though, and we got to see the Sentry in action....oh and Carol is acctually starting to bug me a little

I flipped through it, as Corp said in another thread, a lot happened, and he seemed to get the ball rolling. Actual progression in an issue. Id say its one of the better issues of NA.

The sad thing is that you're right.

I will say this about Bendis run on New Avengers so far. He either packs in too little or way too much into one issues. We know hes the king of decompression but when hes on top of his game it works. He needs to find that balance again, mix in the dialogue and action equally.

My main problem is Avengers used to be about character development. New Avengers needs to bring that back.

Not really. The majority of Mutants didn't have any real power at all. Thats like saying every mutant had the power of an exploding sun or something. Thats kinda lame.

but there are alot of powerful mutants, and some of them are very powerful, and some of those are extremely powerful, and we're talking about all that power in a single being.

Besides, is the Sentry really as powerful as a million exploding suns?
