The Dark Knight Rises Worst character of the trilogy?

Rachel and Talia. Romance isn't Chris Nolan's greatest selling point.

Not with those characters, but I thought he did a good job with Bruce and Selina. Which is really the only one that mattered, in the end.

Too violent man. My brother was asking why it was cut the way it was and I thought it was pretty self-explanatory. While the movie did have a lot of gun violence, showing him directly getting hit by (what I'm assuming is) a .50 Cal type of weapon mount on the Tumbler ain't gonna cut it. Heh. They could have worked some camera magic but I'm not surprised they didn't show any of the gunfire hitting him. I think the fact that he was dead instantly on the ground makes it seem awkward, not to mention his pose.

Actually Foley didn't get shot by the Tumbler's cannon/gun. Set pics show he was run over, or rather, hit by the speeding Tumbler. I get what you're saying though. I guess that still could be too violent. But it looked pretty cool in the set pic. I'm fine with how they cut it though.

Really? I didn't know this. I stayed away from most production shots and only saw some here & there and had no idea he gets hit by the Tumbler. I guess this is what people have been mentioning about Foley and why a certain moment was cut from the battle. Didn't know what that moment was.

Now, it seems like in the film it was edited to be like he was gunned down.

Miranda/Talia.... should've been SO much more but they ruined it. It turned out to be cheesy, pieced together and disappointing.

I can't say Rachel because, while Katie Holmes is annoying and Maggie Gyllenhaal looks... awkward... she was a vital role and had a big part in driving Batman and Two Face. Without her character, Two Face would be nothing and Batman would be half what he was.

Daggett annoyed me to no end, mainly because I was at my breaking point with the actor's horrible American accent. I was so happy when Bane ended him.

Australian eh? I didn't know that. I think Daggett was supposed to be a *****e.

I understood Rachel's purpose but..eh. I guess the worst of the trilogy was Scarecrow, in terms of how little Nolan exploited his fear gas. Cillian played the character quite well, though.

Yeah, his "What. The. Hell. Is going on here? made me chuckle on my first viewing.

Same with his little glare at Miranda as she walked away from him in the beginning.

I enjoyed Dagget, I think the character could have been combined with his snarky looking partner though. I remember my first viewing wondering who was working for who exactly.

John Blake, Talia and Foley were so damn unnecessary imo. Take them out, and split their screentime between Catwoman and bane and TDKR is that much better.

That's because he was disguising the fact that she's the real love interest.

I've watched several of his movies and his love interests tend to be bland boring characters. But yeah, Rachel and Miranda for me.

Talia for sure! poorly handled. Miranda was awesome and her orchestrating everything behind the scenes was great but her reveal was too late too care and too quick and cliched to mean anything.

I have to say, I agree with this.
It was a good twist at the end, but by the time she was revealed, we'd already been spoilt by a beast of a bad guy in Bane throughout the film.

Bane is now dead and we have Talia suddenly, within the last few minutes of the film, taking over the crown of bad guy/girl who's driving around the city in a truck with a nuclear device in the back.

Out of the main/side characters, I'd say it would have to be Foley. Ugh, horrible character.

For me its easily Coleman Reese, aside from that Foley was insanely annoying in Rises but to a point that was his character.

LOL! how could John Blake be unnecessary? Like him or not, that's a stupid thing to say.

Foley i agree wasn't necessary but i like Matthew Modine so i had no problem with it. There's always going to be characters that are just thrown in there. As long as they're decent actors and don't take up a lot of screentime, im OK with that.

Foley - "Get this hot head out of here", "I'm going to do what Jim Gordon never could. I'm going to take down the Batman". Foley was an irritating presence. I never got any chemistry between him and Gordon. I never believed for a minute they spent years together on the streets working together. Gordon had more chemistry with Stephens in TDK than he did with this character. When he died and the camera zoomed in on his body I rolled my eyes as if we are supposed to care this guy is dead.

Foley looked and felt like he was forced inside the movie. which IMO is not a big suprise because Nolan is a big Kubrick fan. yes i went there :yay:

Foley, because of the amount of wasted screen time weighing in heavily in my decision.

Then the "I didn't sign up for this, turkeys on thanksgiving, you better have some moves pal, etc" guy. Hate him.

Remember PG-13 was invented because a guy got his heart ripped out of his chest. And then incinerated in a lava pit. And mangled by rock crusher. And devoured by alligators. And skewered by flaming shish-kebab.

Because many feel that it was unnecessary for Bruce Wayne to retire in his prime at the end of TDKR.

Blake seemed shoehorned in for that purpose alone. It didn't feel true to the comics. It was very Elseworlds.

And as many users have said themselves, this trilogy is very much an Elseworlds story. As much as I love the comics, I was happy as hell to see Bruce to get the happy ending he deserves.
