Its okay, but this should have been way higher IMO! They got the goodwill from DOFP and Deadpool. Plus it got an IMAX release which DOFP didn't have and ticket prices increased since 2014.

It is the exchange rates as the article up the page noted it would have out grossed DOFP if the rates were the same. Hmm if 2 years cost X-Men almost 15% I wonder how much less Avatar would have made if released this year with the same tickets sold? Maybe 40-50% less 800m to a billion overseas?

At this point anymore Avatar movies are gonna disappoint, they left it to late for sequels

Nope. No IMAX screens for X-Men: Days of Future Past worldwide! :csad: Yet The Maze Runner got one in September 2014!

Ok, wait ...
DoFP with no IMAX = 100 mil
XMA with IMAX = 103 mil

for real?

Wow, how much would have been if not any IMAX for XMA? 90 mil?

Not quite. I assure you, if the dollar had been THAT weak 7 years ago, "financial crisis" wouldn't even begin to cover it.

Someone just answered thatb I think. If X-Men makes close to Deadpool it will be considered successful if it makes less than both DoFP or DP it will be considered a dissapointment. I'm very curious to see how it will do in the US.

A $180 million film for a X-Men film featuring Cyclops, Jean Grey, Beast, Nightcrawler, Jubilee, Professor X, Mr. Sinister and a couple of Marauders like Vertigo, Scalphunter, Prism and Blockbuster is possible, I think. And they could also fire Nicholas Hoult then just recast him with a better actor with a lower salary. So basically, its just James McAvoy that would need to renew a contract. And in terms of the usage of VFX, I think there's always a smart way to produce good visual effects without spending too much money.

Well I think next films will be on phoenix and then dark phoenix myself.Mcavoy
Is only First Class actor they have to get back.Although i doudt Nicholas Hoult would be that expensive. But let lawrence go.and inless they are prepared to
make magneto an antagonist again I am In no hurry to see fassbender again.
If my suspecion on them doing phoenix and dark phoenix in a 2 part film ends up correct I think Sinister could replace the hellfire club In dark phoenix part.and as you suggested that could lead to some version of the marauders as henchman for Sinister.Protues could even be used to try to
turn jean against X-men
after Xavier convinced jean to unleash her power against apocalypse the drama of her being turned against the team and Xavier having to have a mental confrontation with her is just too good not to get Into with James Mcavoy and Sophie Turner

I just want someone better for Beast and I doubt anyone would notice if they recast Beast especially if the actor acts as Beast ONLY in mutant form.

Lets hope Assassin's Creed is a success that Fox would have to hurry making a trilogy and Michael Fassbender won't have time for filming another X-Men movie.

Civil War is almost in all cinemas in my city.
Apocalypse in just 2 kinds of cinemas. FOX doesn't work well. If people could wacth it in other cinemas, closer to their homes, it would make more.
At Friday it was choose:
Marathon (FC, DOFP ,Apocalypse) or IMAX3D, nothing else.
Since Saturday I can watch in 2D also, but only in 2 cinema webs: Cinema City, Multikino. Those kinds of cinemas are only in biggest citties here, that's a shot in own foot FOX.

I'm a little disappointed in that UK opening. For opening comparisons this year:

Deadpool - $19 million
Batman v Superman: Dawn of Justice -
$20 million
Captain America: Civil War -
$21 million
X-Men Apocalypse -
$10.5 million

And FOX marketed the crap out of Apocalypse over here in the UK.

Days of Future Past opened with $15.3 million.

All negatives considered and without South Korea, Japan and China I'd say $103,300,000 is a good start. These three countries accounted for 31% of the box office of DOFP. The problem might be with the domestic box office and the fact that this movie will probably have even worse legs than DOFP. On the more positive side of things, X-Men has now moved past Fast and Furious to become the 8th highest grossing franchise of all time. It's only a little behind Spiderman now.

I hear AC cost 200 mill to make too. Way way WAY too much

Well, I am going to see he movie Tuesday so will let you know how busy it is. We do love the X-Men movies here in the UK so I am surprised the opening isn't huge, but maybe it will have good legs here.

Lots are still seeing CW and JB it seems so maybe they will get to X-Men later.

Opening weekend comparisons:

Mexico
Apocalypse - $8.6 M
DOFP - $9.3 M

UK
Apocalypse - $10.5 M
DOFP - $15.3 M

Brazil
Apocalypse - $6.6 M
DOFP - $8.3 M

Russia
Apocalypse - $6.5 M
DOFP - $10.2 M

France
Apocalypse - $5.9 M
DOFP - $9.2 M (had Omar Sy)

While it got bigger opening weekend gross compare to DOFP's OWG in the Philippines, India, Indonesia, Singapore, Thailand and Colombia!

Any available number for Australia's opening weekend?

Should be the biggest film without Wolverine as the lead (who is a draw).

I'm disappointed with these numbers. I know I watched the movie twice now but I'm just one person.

I was hoping for the box office to be a success to make Fox want to make another x-men movie. Deadpool and Wolverine are fine but I'm more of a fan of X-men movies. Now my dream for X-Men 7 is gone. There's no way the Studio would want to spend money to make another x-men movie again.

We're getting another X-Men film. No question about it.

The numbers are definitely disappointing especially there's no growth to markets like Uk, Brazil, Russia, Mexico but they could always make another film with a smaller budget and different cast too.

Lets just hope there won't be a drop compare to DOFP's OWG when it is released in America/Canada, South Korea, Ukraine, China and Japan.

'Mutant Massacre' doesn't need big budget and it can be more interesting, than watching destroyed NYC or Sydney.
