Apocalypse X-Men: Apocalypse Box Office Prediction Thread - Part 1

Apocalypse has a fair amount pushing against it sadly like reviews and alice 2, really fox should have released it worldwide around the same time everywhere and not released to critics as early as they did.

I am certain FOX must have been aware of this though, you don't release it next to alice 2 and not realise that oh yeah the first made a billion at the box office, even if the reviews for alice 2 haven't been great and the 3D gimmick isn't there anymore its still something you think about.

Even though Deadpool is not in this movie. The hype from his movie might be transferred to this movie.

I'm hopping for this movie to make 800 worldwide.

I think that you might be right. Fox should have released this movie worldwide on the same day just like they did with Deadpool. Release first in some countries and than later in some is never a good idea.

Deadpool only competition was Zoolander 2 which was released wide.

X-Men Apocalypse has to deal with Alice 2, Neighbors 2, Cap 3, Ninja turtles 2, a lot of big names.

I figured it would, but that was assuming it was consistent with the quality of Singer's previous films, whereas it has turned out to be considerably more divisive.

The debut X-Men: Apocalypse frame was worth $103.3M from 20,596 screens. XMA is No. 1 in 71 markets, and is the biggest Fox debut weekend ever in six. It also marks the best X-Men opening ever in 33. At current exchange rates, the same suite of 75 markets delivered a $100M opening weekend for X-Men: Days Of Future Past.

My prediction for XMA is 200 domestic and 450 OS for a 650 total. A small dip, but nothing to be disappointed over.

Yeah, I think the strong dollar has hurt the foreign gross of a number of films this year. Or at least the visible number.

My expectations have been severely lowered, so we'll see.

If that prediction proves right I feel while some will go online and declare Apocalypse a failure that will be good enough for fox to press ahead with
it's present plans for expanded X-men shared universe.

I can see if SInger returns for next full X-men film and it is indeed based
on Phoenix as every indication seems to be that is where they are intending to go to that fox will want a lower budget that the 234 million they spent on
Apocalypse and the 200 million plus on DOFP.

Personaly i feel reducing budget may be one of reasons gambit is being
rewritten and filming pushed back till end of year.

One way to spend less on next full X-men film is not to get Jennifer Lawrence back.But,I'm sure if she doesn't come back the haters will
find something else to moan about.next it will probally be too much focus is on cyclops and Jean and not enough on Storm and Jubileet:
