back when DVD releases actually had features [DVD was before Blue ray for you kids :woot:) when I seen the designs for the sentinels and angel I never got why was that stuff left out until I discovered who Tom Rothman was :csad:
Rothman is a franchise assassin and executioner! He achieved his dream by almost killing it off for good with X3.

They sure as hell weren't when they were Marvel's bread and butter in the 90's while the Avengers got a big fat 'who' from the average joe.
Exactly! If X-Men were being launched for the first time in 2016 by Marvel with no baggage you can bet it would be huge!

#XMenApocalypse advance sales on @MovieTickets now double the pace of DOFP at same point 2yrs ago. 4x vs #XMen FirstClass. Huge debut set.

Good news!

Some good news

That is a good sign. Let's keep our expectations low though. For the sake of our sanity. ;)

And for those who thought this movie will only gross below $750 million, you'd better change your prediction.

Presales aren't the best indicator. Presales of all films go up every year regardless of what that film ends up making. But good news nonetheless.

And that's what matters most. :)

me and my friends to this day can't believe the avengers are bigger than the x-men movie wise

I love Singers x-men movies btw

700 would be a good haul for this. Hopefully get an official release date for a sequel soon.

For the most they actually started off incorporating multiple characters whom were very much like there comic book counterparts. So overall people like how they adapted them unlike the XMen whom are like carbon copies of themselves. XMen could be so much bigger then they are right in the right hands and people who know how to utilize them properly. If done right this movie can easily hit a billion because I am a huge XMen fan they are the only property I care about. I grew up on them.

I was a huge Spider-Man and X-Men fan but video games, comics and especially the movies have made me a huge Avengers fan.

I think it's a little harder because X-Men primarily work as a team movie. Wolverine and now Deadpool are the exceptions. And we'll see how Gambit works out.

Guardians are a team. They were also D listers before 2014. Yet they made more domestically than most Superhero films.

Without hard numbers, that is an extremely vague description.

Just ask Civil War.

Yeah, online ticket buying has increased tremendously in the last year alone, much less 2.

I wouldn't say that. The modern Guardians was seeing a rather large rise in popularity before the movie.

It's hard to say if it was quality, branding or both that led to their success.

But outside of Guardians, Avengers, AOU and technically CW. The other 9 movies are solo fests.

Not sure how, Scott and Jean would work on their own. Although, Longshot and Dazzler in Mojoverse would be a great movie.

I'm honestly not seeing it for Gambit but I agree about Wolverine and Deadpool. This whole situation is a mess though all we get are XMovies now and a little merchandise. I miss the days of old when we got cartoons, video games, action figures even mobile games it just isn't anything XMen wise out there. All the good games are just Avengers centric with GOTG so I can't get my XMen fix. I wish something could change to make it back how it use to be, how I would rejoice getting a new cartoon, video game or a new phone app.

They have to explore ways of giving extra things to the fans and collectors.

I can't help but think there's a very old-fashioned approach at the studio. At one time there was no 3D and no IMAX for these films.

Then it looked like things were changing a little and we got a Rogue Cut and also 3D and IMAX. We also had a Cerebro film collection with an Xavier helmet and an Adamantium collection with a Wolverine claw.

If they can't do merchandise, they MUST explore every other marketing option.

Fans lap this stuff up. X-Men Apocalypse needs an extended edition, plus one with an Apocalypse figurine, etc etc.
