Apocalypse X-Men: Apocalypse Box Office Prediction Thread - Part 2

For the most they actually started off incorporating multiple characters whom were very much like there comic book counterparts. So overall people like how they adapted them unlike the XMen whom are like carbon copies of themselves. XMen could be so much bigger then they are right in the right hands and people who know how to utilize them properly. If done right this movie can easily hit a billion because I am a huge XMen fan they are the only property I care about. I grew up on them.

same here I truly wish things were different but when Singers original came out it was a huge gamble so I don't blame fox for the budget that they gave them at the end these studios are in it for the $$ after all

but x-2 should have gotten a tad more $$ just saying

Most of the X-Men are not designed to be solo guys. The team are more like family than their own families having grown up in the school and a fair few have single powers (before secondary mutations) that are more suited to teamwork like phasing/teleporting/optic blast/telepathy.

Which makes it all the more disappointing that the team work in these films are almost nonexistent.

I was crying inside at all the cool combo moves in AOU. I screamed inside: that should be how the X-men work.

Or it took 3 movies for Iceman to ice up and had to wait until his next appearance to do an ice slide.

Having the ice slide in the original trilogy wouldn't have been pretty with the special effects of the time and the budget of the first two.

Yea I understand things were different when the first movie came out and I can truly say seeing that movie it was kind of promising excepting Toad wasting 3/4 of the team that was just bad though I know they did it because of budget. How many films down are we know though shouldn't still be having those issues it's no reason heavy hitter XMen should not be having development like no readon that's the problem. Though I'm hoping with this 90s theme for XMen they really switch some things up.
They have to explore ways of giving extra things to the fans and collectors.

I can't help but think there's a very old-fashioned approach at the studio. At one time there was no 3D and no IMAX for these films.

Then it looked like things were changing a little and we got a Rogue Cut and also 3D and IMAX. We also had a Cerebro film collection with an Xavier helmet and an Adamantium collection with a Wolverine claw.

If they can't do merchandise, they MUST explore every other marketing option.

Fans lap this stuff up. X-Men Apocalypse needs an extended edition, plus one with an Apocalypse figurine, etc etc.

I agree that would make so much more money if they did more of this. We need action figures and games to sometimes tie into these movies. Mobile games would be such an easy thing to do. I would've loved to have a XMen Apocalypse Storm action figure I mean come on why is this stuff not happening.

I have been saying this for the last decade! I hope Singer & co watch Civil War and take a notepad. Or alternatively read more X-comics to help their action scenes. Anyway at least it's getting better on this front.

You can imagine how much I went on about this one. In DoFP finally he is iced up, simultaneously creating and sliding on his ice slide and using his other hand to attack with ice. Perfect, but just wish this had occurred in the present day, it almost feels like it doesn't fully count in the future. Of course then he disappears from the roster as soon as we finally get this proper show of his powers.

Ha, I wonder what it would have looked like.

And for those who thought this movie will only gross below $750 million, you'd better change your prediction.

I just want it to beat Deadpool so that old X-Men statistic, beating the gross of every movie before it comes true again.

That's how I feel. I'm only worried with that.

I really want for this movie to beat Deadpool.

But Deadpool didn't have any real competition.

X-Men Apocalypse has to deal with Captain America 3, Alice 2, Neighbors 2, Ninja Turtles 2, Warcraft, lots of blockbusters movies.

In that case you are probably going to be quite disappointed, I'm afraid. Even with better reviews and a slightly better release window this probably wouldn't have beaten Deadpool.

Deadpool was very luck cause it didn't have so much competition.

X-Men have a lot to deal with.

TBH, I only watched Deadpool in theaters because it got stellar reviews. I would have waited for Netflix like the Wolverine.

Whether it Deadpool or X-Men we should be happy either way. It doesn't need to beat Deadpool. If Fox want X-Men to do better then they need to change the way they create the world. Fix story issues and give better characters. Summer movies aren't the be all and end all like they used to be. Movies are making money in Feb, Oct, Nov, Dec. They can easily release an X-Men film same time as Deadpool. Fox need to be smarter with their decisions now.

Yeah I know, I mean best case scenario this does Spectre like numbers and worst case it does like The Last Stand. I mean, I'd expect it go around $700million but who knows? Maybe this'll be one of those weird connects and do like Transformers or Fast and Furious, I mean Days of Future Past did do amazing for Fox in China (at the time).

Nah, he'll be back in the next one for sure... right? :csad:

^I get this pretty much every day in my shop.

I think as we have seen, you still need to be a good movie to have legs. Competition or not.

I'd be extremely surprised if it does Spectre numbers. Spectre did over $880 million. Even BvS hasn't reached that yet.

Cracking $800 mil would be a major win for the movie.

Well, DOFP cast a very famous Chinese actress as Blink and set the last act in the future at China. It's not hard to see why it did so well over there.

How is it jumping up and down so much like 124 to 82 million is a big jump. Is someone's figures messed up
EDIT:Lol sorry
