way too much moaning that X-men isn't In billion dollor club.like that makes
good films.I have told people.X-men is darker and deals with issues.MCU is full of humor and is more intrested in crowd pleasuring.sometimes i think
some who claim to be fans haven't exactly read the comics.

Apocalypse being a disappointment isn't going to get disney X-men.all it will do is get a reboot of X-men.last thing I want.

Even after FF bombing fox and kinberg are still talking about FF.so they certinly wouldn't just give X-men over to disney if they won't with FF.

DOing a more comic booky film and critics take them to wood sheed and people online just moan that their favorates aren't main focus.

Apocalypse is one comic book film of 2016 where their is a heroes save the world plot and some are like that's nothing.

let's not sugarcot it.grossing 67 million on the week is a disappointment.

As one who was buying X-men comics throughout the 1990's i sure the hell don't see any compression between X-men comics of 1990's and disney avengers films.

while I don't want a reboot i would say there is 50% chance of next X-men film being a complete reboot.sure origin of X-men team In apocalypse will be for nothing if that happens. That will also mean they did their time traveling erasing of much of the X-men films for nothing as well.

The only reason why I wouldn't want a reboot is the fantastic cast.

And technically, if we bring on a new director with a fresh vision to the cast we have right now, aren't we half a step closer to a reboot? A brand new (and what seems to have been a well-received) cast, but with some old faces, with stories that are not burdened by the previous movies since DOFP wiped the slate clean and Apocalypse was relatively self-contained. Just keep references to previous movies at a minimum. DOFP was the perfect finale to Singer's vision of the X-Men anyway, and Apocalypse IS a finale no matter how shakily executed. Nothing was left hanging that NEEDS to be addressed.

If an actual reboot does happen though (with all characters in the present), it is still possible to keep the current cast? I think that would be the preferred option for me even if it may be impossible.

now if they reboot the entire cast is gone.you don't reboot and keep cast.DOFP was kind of reboot is that they erased from contunity much of X-men and wolverine films.

You know, maybe you should stop obsessing about a reboot when there is currently 0 evidence. We don't even have confirmation on the next X-men film.

Yeah they aren't gonna reboot. This isn't like Spider-Man or Fantastic Four. Fox would probably make smaller films with smaller budget and they still have Deadpool 2. Like if X-Men: Apocalypse only cost Fox $178 million to make then thats quite cheap (though IMO that is just part of their damage control and that the film cost more). Though Apocalypse is shaping up to be THE disappointment of Marvel films this year. :(

2014: The Amazing Spider-Man 2
2015: Fant4stic
2016: X-Men: Apocalypse

God, I pray to God that Wolverine 3 will be amazing and that it will be the greatest Wolverine film evah! Okay!

It's the magic of accounting. I am pretty certain a LOT of these tent polls cost more than the stated budget. But, you have to hide it a bit, because you don't want the investors to get huffy over the amount of money you are spending.

After seeing the movie on the big screen this time I think the movie could do well by word of mouth. I took friends to see it and they all enjoyed it some even saying it was better than CW. Listening to some people up here and critics can put a bad taste in your mouth by overall it was a great movie packed with things we have been asking Singer for years about.
-Costumes
-Orgins for Cyclops and Storm
-more action
-more comic accurate
-The actual Pheonix bird effect

The bad reviews, then the tracking doesn't suggest that it will outgross DOFP, IMO have something to do with it. Anyway its a business so I can understand.

After the [BLACKOUT]Weapon X sequence,[/BLACKOUT] I don't want to hear another complaint about comic accuracy. This really did feel like the final steps to being the comic franchise people have been *****ing about for years.

No, the same applies to DOFP as well. I am leery of all the reported budgets for major tentpoles.

So true this actually felt like an X-Men film.

Yes and yes to this comments I totally agree. I left the theater feeling excited that we are finally getting a good XMen film a little muddled but it was a great attempt. I loved the movie.

When and where can we find out about the numbers of Thursday night? Thanks;

My theater was mostly packed but it was the day before and a weekday when I go again tomorrow I'm sure it will be hectic. I agree with your previous statement as well about the movie.

We will probably get the numbers tomorrow. Some estimates should be coming in as cinemas wrap up ticket taking on the West Coast. I think 1 or 2 am EST is when I've seen early estimates.

Do you know any good site to look for this?

Good to know. I hope this movie is a huge success at the box office so that the critics can eat their own words.

I tend to watch the boxoffice theory forums, as it's userbase is quite rabid about watching for reports.

I do as well because I do think people were harder on it for a variety of reasons when it truly wasn't a bad movie. People jumping on the bandwagon even I can admit I got sucked a little into it but seeing the movie on the big screen for myself. I loved what I saw and it was a fun movie I'm hoping that it does well.

i know singer wants to finally break free from his usual "realistic style" and moe comic accurate now. well conceptually he got it. but storywise and the context of the movie, it still the same old things from his previous x-films

Mystique's role in the movie and 3 heroic X-Men being Apocalypse Horsemen are just two examples of why this movie is no where near as faithful to the source material. And don't get me started on Apocalypse Gary Stu powers.

Uhm, Psylocke WAS a Horseman briefly in the comics, and
there is potential for a return and redemption
. Storm BECAME an X-Man. Apocalypse's Gary Stu powers IS from the comics :p

So your comment only applies to Archangel (in terms of him being heroic), and of course, Mystique.
