thats normal for this place.
There's been enough movies to know how these films play though.

There really isn't doom and gloom except from a poster or two.I am surprised at all the negativity and proclamations of doom and gloom.
This is bad, but Fox also had a huge hit with Deadpool, The Wolverine 3 is right around the corner, and this is the first X-Men movie to underperform since 2011. Fox isn't about to reboot it all or just go crawling to Marvel like Sony did, because unlike Sony (or Fox in Fantastic Four's case), they built a pretty sturdy foundation that has survived for 16 years.
There will be consequences and fallout, but fans wringing their hands that this is the end of the franchise or that a reboot is imminent... it's very chicken little.
With that said, if Kinberg continues writing them, because I do suspect that Singer is done, the franchise might be in real trouble if the next one performs like this.
Again, I don't think that people are fed up with Singer's grounded X-Men approach. I think the problem was that the trailer made it look like a cheesy cgi mess of a colorful superhero movie!
Exactly. Don't expect any big surprises. There's been enough movies to know how these films play though.
you are describing something that many have wanted from X-Men for a while though, yeah many may stick up for these movies because they are fans but deep down they want the colorful outfits and cgi powers going everywhere in big action scenes
People were asking for a mess?
There's a way to do this stuff right.

Judging by the $400 mil the wolverine made with 3D... not as many as you might think

maybe some vocal comic book nerds on the internet...and look what a horrible horrible movie came out of it because FOX listened wrongfully to this group!!
The general audience loved Singer's approach for 16 years. If it ain't broke don't fix it. "Days of Future Past" is such a beloved movie how can the filmmakers/studio be so dumb to accept a dull, pointless and heartless destruction porn script like the one we got?!
X-Men: Apocalypse is like the anti-Singer movie and of course it did not work: critical fail, commercial fail, and only 25 fans in this forum enjoyed it. WELL DONE, FOX!
People like Wolverine in the context of the X-Men, that should go without saying. There's interest in the X-Men franchise regardless, but without Wolverine front and center it definitely takes a hit. You had people here acting like matching or beating DOFP was a given, just because it's a sequel.

So who are these people that didn't see the wolverine but as soon as they see he is front and center of a team movie they are booking their tickets?

Oh that is some grade A spin by a Singer fanboy. Impressive.
sorry, but at least I can tell why the X-Men adapations have been successful!
Taking away the critical acclaim and tone, of course this brand collapses!

Nah Singer just ****ed up by making an ugly ass looking film with a horrible version of Apocalypse. It's not the early 2000's anymore.sorry, but at least I can tell why the X-Men adapations have been successful!
