Singer is gone but I think people hate Kinberg even more and they want him gone too which may not happen.

She's also very, very good looking.:hubba

Yes, yes she is.

She looked amazing as Blink and even if she didn't talk, a lot of people liked her! Those portals were amazing! :ilv:

she did more than Jubilee!! :o

also, if she wasn't cast as Blink, she should have been cast as Psylocke.

Those portals are probably one of the best team powers. Bring her back one day, even if only for the Chinese box office. :woot:

i think Natalie Mendoza should be cast as Psylocke if Olivia Munn doesn't return. Natalie Mendoza played "Juno" in the horror movie THE DESCENT.

so after apocalypse people still want to pretend lawrence was only reason for success of
DOFP?

Wolverine, plain and simple. Wolverine brings in a decent amount of the general audience and I know some people don't want to hear it but there are people who are fans of Wolverine that aren't really fans of the X-Men and when they realize that he isn't they lose interest.

But his solo movies only do ok at the box office, 400 mil worldwide, when he is alone it doesn't interest people apparently he needs to be with others before people rush to see wolverine in a movie ;p

the marketing is what really hurt this movie this film just did'nt have great trailers i will say they were okay trailers but compared to the trailers for civil war,BVS,deadpool, suicide squad it just did'nt compare to the competition it just didn't have the hype, buzz,or excitement needed for such a big movie

Yet it made more money than those films.

While disappointing, those US box office numbers are good considering the reviews this movie has gotten.

I wouldn't panic about the franchise just yet. It's still early days.....:cwink:

The lack of great word-of-mouth and familiar faces from the past may have hurt the revenue. And the movie wasn't released in IMAX like it was elsewhere around the world. Also, after Deadpool, Batman vs Superman and Captain America, i fear there might be some superhero fatigue from the general audiences.

So far i've seen Apocalypse three times and the IMAX 3D showing had the most people (nearly sold out). And that was on a Sunday evening....

The movie also opened at no.1 here too with over 800,000 dollars.

What? How does him being gay have to do with Sophie Turner?

This place is making me sad. Accusations are now flying everywhere, accusations which have little to do with the actual movie (like Singer's underaged kids thing).

Also, I guess it makes sense that there are more people coming out of the woodwork to post on these forums in light of the release of the movie, but it's funny how those who have been disappointed with the films have suddenly taken over the board when previously they had little to say. I guess negative passions do make people post more.

People are seriously overreacting. If this film is a 'flop' (and it won't even be a flop, it will just underperform), would the actual apocalypse come? Singer has already said that he will be gone from the directing chair regardless so those who don't like his vision get their wish. The worst case scenario is that we won't get the flagship X-movies for a while, but we have all the other X-universe movies to tide us over (movies, which, in Deadpool and New Mutants' case at least, have passionate fans in the director's chair).

The only thing that would be wasted is the young cast, but I highly doubt Fox will recast them so soon, especially since they have the star power of Sophie Turner, the immense likability of Evan Peters as Quicksilver and audiences have received them warmly.
This ^^^^^

why have I only seen one premiere for this movie. I felt like the DOFP had so many different premieres worldwide, why isn't this happening with this movie? Shouldn't there be a premiere in big markets like USA, China etc? I've only seen the UK one.

the UK one seemed to be the one made the biggest deal out of, the others were a little more under the radar for some reason

I still feel like this film will still make at least close to days of future past numbers and people on this board are just overeacting.

That's a good point about the lack of premieres. Perhaps the main cast members were unwilling to do all that globetrotting?

When reviews were very kind to DOFP while doom and gloom with apocalypse... you do kinda have to take that into consideration that apocalypse is getting a harsh beating from some critics, i mean its below X3 on RT for crying out loud!

i'd be more shocked if reviews didn't hurt them
