I want to ask something:
Any idea how much does the movie needs to make to break even? If the budget is 178 and if the budget is 234 million.

That's so sad that this has to be even asked

I think at the moment any solo movie for fox that is not Deadpool or Wolverine will most likely flop

Then yeah this franchise and the X-Men idea in general is in pretty bad shape if none of these characters would be interesting enough to an audience for a stand alone apart from deadpool and to a lesser extent wolverine

Because I don't think that movie has broke even.

I remember Terminator: Genysis. It made like almost 500 million or something, but it was confirmed that the movie most likely made zero cash for the studio and they erase all their plans for the 2 sequels they had.

A Terminator movie ... making almost 500 million ... with a 155 budget .. a flop.

So yeah, how much does XMA has to make?

Just because it's a solo doesn't mean the whole movie revolves around them.


Put multiple X-Men together in a movie on side mission adventure.

Actually, it doesn't matter how much it makes.
It's more like how much in what country does it make it.

Because the way I see it. The studio gets 50% from USA; around 25% from China. And around 30-40% from the rest of the world, am I right?

So, let's say the budget is indeed 178 million. What about the marketing? That would easy be around 50 million.
The movie costs around 220 million, let's say.

The movie has made 300 million so far. And the studio hasn't even got the half of those 300.
By my vision, the movie is still far from even breaking even.

To get 520M in revenue, you need like 600M in grosses. 50 Shades of Grey made 571M WW and got 512 in total revenue (ALL sources, theaters, library, vod, ppv, home entertainment).

Yeah, no way the movie is getting there.

I think they are cheap.
I mean ... are they "anybody"? I only one I heard before was Tye Sheridan and that's it.
Somebody like Lana Condor are not even an actor.
