Here we go comparing X-Men: Apocalypse to superior movies again smh

Ronan The Accuser is a good villain but he's NOT Apocalypse! They won't put his name in the subtitle of a movie. Apocalypse deserved better.

It was a wrap after these types of pictures started coming out

A couple pages back I voiced my displeasure over FoX having the rights so we'll never get X-Men games again.

Now it looks like Marvel: Ultimate Alliance 1 & 2 are getting remastered for Next Gen Consoles. This really pisses me off because X-Men: Legends 1 & 2 >

So glad I bought those two games off eBay earlier this year but it would've been great to play X-Men: Legends II online co-op mode again.

Apocalypse photo leak? so you are saying apocalypse design killed it for even casual audiences? Remember fandom is only a small % who likely see it anyway

I agree.

"The audience makes a movie a hit and no amount of "star power" or marketing can alter that. In other words, the real star is the movie."

Paper on movie grosses. This movie is doing better in China than Batman V. Superman did because the audience there likes it. A compelling design would have surely been a good thing. But, if the motivations of the villain were lacking, the plot was generic, and the story construction was bad, and the trailers reflected that, the movie would not be alive and kicking. It would still hurt a lot. Many people had issues with the costume, design, and made fun of it, but were still hopeful and or excited about the movie.

I bought them to and realise they were not readable by x360, it wasn't expensive but i really want to play a xmen game :/

Again for me Apocalypse represent well both sides of the movie, dramaturgic and goofy, he is like a bit Magneto and a bit fun like Quicksilver, tonal shift, since the move try to changes the mood, thr vilain had to also, that was risky. And i think the Apocalypse costume has affected a lot of people because they didn't knew how to take the movie. It looks pretty Egyptian and both ancient and futuristic, wich again is where the movies's headed.

What I did was buy the GaneCube versions of X-Men: Legends 1 & 2 and X-Men: Next Dimension and play them on Wii with GameCube controller.

I'd suggest downloading FightCade and getting X-Men vs Street Fighter & X-Men: Children of the Atom you can plug your 360 controller in the PC and fight others online for free. I use a 360 Arcade Stick it's a lot of fun.

And I got a lot of the old X-Men games on my tablet on SNES or Sega or Mame emulators

Apocalypse was great. Looked nothing like that power rangers villian.

up to 142 million domesticly now after making 1.4 million friday.

proceed with doom and gloom.

Bryan Singer worse mistake about this movie was to release this pic to the press. It was a terrible idea. And he even confessed in one interview cause everyone got the wrong impression of Apocalypse.

If you watch the movie Apocalypse looks totally different from this pic.

A huge mistake that got everyone the wrong idea.

He should have been bigger and CGI. Fox just never know what they want. Clearly they decided to go big on the action and the super powers but they couldn't do a decent CGI character, to date in X-Men, besides Collosus I guess.

His size was fine by me.

The appearance of Apocalypse, how he looks, was good enough for me.

I only feel like they could have given him more backstory. Show that alien spaceship and probably defeat him without killing. But who knows Apocalypse knows that he's like Dracula, he always comes back.

It was a mistake, but I don't know that is made all dead on arrival or turned everyone off to a point they could not be won back. Quicksilver early stuff got trashed big time, but he is a big fan favorite that got lots of audience love and critical praise. The movie changed people's mind about Quicksilver.

Apocalypse looked bad, had no compelling motivation, and Isaac could not do much with all the makeup, prosthetics, and voice changing.

Domestic: $142,247,836 29.3%
+ Foreign: $343,816,310 70.7%
--------------------------------------
= Worldwide: $486,064,146

How much more will it make domestically ? And what will be the final worldwide collection ?

Box Office Mojo states the budget at 178 mil. so if we go by conventional method of doubling the production budget plus marketing (about 100 mil. more), it has already made back it's money.

Just imagine if this was the Internet's first look at Apocalypse the narrative would've been completely different

Do you remember the internet's first look at Quicksilver?

The narrative could have changed if the movie itself had a compelling character. The problem was that it did not.

A god who wants to destroy civilization and technology feels compelling to me, voice changes worked really well sometimes and overall his speech always change in a coherent manner to whom he is speaking or trying to convince. Isaac manage fine but i got to say my impression on Apocalypse changed each time i saw the movie, the first he felt a bit off and both, the second really goofy, the third really dramaturgic.

They made him goofy, chessu bit also shakespirian and preacher it's a bad guy like you won't see in a long time. Difference always has a hard time fining it's place in the present timeline

I feel like domestically will not go very far. Probably ending with 160M best case scenario. Internationally could reach as far as 400M.

I still feel like what hurt this movie box office was two thing.

1-Releasing internationally first for only 9 days later to release in the US.
2-Too much blockbuster competition for the summer.

If you notice, every week a new major blockbuster gets released.

500-520 seems most likely for final numbers worldwide.

151-155 domestic is the resting place for this, stateside.

Just to be clear about this, let me explain better. In my Country, if a blockbuster movie gets released today, the next day they already have a cam version of the movie to sell the movie. You can buy it on the streets of every neighborhood, even in front of Cops and Police stations, nobody cares and the government does nothing to stop those people.

So, people put this cam movies online which some of them the quality is very good (I don't buy them but you can see the quality cause they have tv on their stand to show costumers).

Then people in US who are desperately to see the movie, will probably be seduced by the idea of watching online first. Then after watching online they if they get disappointed with the movie them don't go to see it in theaters.

If Fox would just release on the same day for every Country then it wouldn't matter that these people put the movie online. Cause everyone would be on theater.

Seriously, I'm not exaggerating. The very next day a blockbuster movie gets release here there's already people selling a disc on the streets.

International Box Office is not the real problem here, it's the domestic one.

A movie about Apocalypse and who dismiss father-god of old testament figure in order to give more power to woman doesn't appeal as much as a movie about Civil War in America where it's mainly man handling the situation. Little sarcastic thouhgt on the way srry

when fans went berserk of quicksilver looks and then shut up after... its likely FOX are fully aware by now that fans will complain about anything until they see the final product and decide if they enjoyed it.

Now you will find about a dozen people cosplaying as quicksilver silver jacket and all.
