While Marvel and Disney have a bad relationship, the relationship between Fox and Disney isn't all that bad, at least not when it comes to TV and Touchstone Pictures. Both studios distributed Stephen Spielberg's last film Lincoln with Disney (through Touchstone/Dreamworks) distributed in the United States while Fox distributed internationally.
Whenever a new character is introduced, I always look it up online. As a non-CB fan I am annoyed by the studio wars. I honestly don't care and I don't think non-CB fans who like the movies care either about the studio wars. This way I come into every CBM with an open mind. I don't get enraged at the race change of characters or that their backgrounds deviate majorly from the comics.

Aye. I second that. I'm not a comic book fan. Infact I don't like lots of the comic book stories and hate it when people say blah blah blah not like to comic books.High five fellow non-comic book friend
Good to see I'm not the only one scrambling online whenever something new is mentioned![]()
That Is fine but some would think that by your signutre you prefer Marve studios films.
Oh yeah, cos DOFP absolutely bombed... Give me a break
He got me so upset that I had to make a change to my sig so he wouldn't get angry about it.
All I did was tell a poster not to start the Comic book studio wars in this forum and he gets all upset about my sig. I kept explaining my position as a non Comic-book guy, but he refused to listen.
One thing for certain is that people are into superhero teams.
I agree with you that team movies are more fun. I know for me I enjoyed Spidy more on his short stint with Avengers in the comics, I think I would enjoy Spidy as a guest in an Avengers movie as opposed to another one on his own. A JL movie might make Superman finally interesting to me for the same reason. Some characters just need a group to bounce smart lines off of.true. Thats why Avengers was a huge hit, why XMen movies are more appealing than a Wolverine one, why Guardians is having a great journey in USA, and why Justice League will be a monster. Superhero teams are much hotter than a solo character, and if studios play their cards right, all will win.
Fox should sell and develop the team aspect more, tho. this is just an extra thing, but the dvd cover of Dofp doesnt scream superhero team at all. just a bunch of characters here and there, with these older versions on there, the younger, a new kid, mystique and so. That doesnt sell "XMen team", so Fox better change that in all future sequels.

when did I say Dofp bombed? it didnt. But its clear the cast of the movies isnt a big deal for USA, since movies with smaller and less famous casts have done better than XMen 3 and Dofp.
Maleficent only had Jolie, yet it outgrossed XMen in USA.
Guardians is a new property with less big actors and a non star leading one and is making more than XMen
Cap 2 only had Chris and Scarlett as the hot faces, and it made more than XMen
and lets not talk about movies from latest years, its the same story, year after year.
The cast thing is great to promote a movie, to get interest from a ceartain audience, but general audience doesnt care if your movie has 10 popular actors or just one, they go to the theatre because they want to enjoy a movie, and thats it.
There are plenty of examples of this in movie history, and its the same story as those movies having just that one huge worldwide star leading your movie that end with poor numbers, u know, having someone as Tom Cruise, Johnny Deep, Will Smith or any other ww star is not a guarantee that the movie will be a ww hit. Thats not longer the case.
And it doesnt matter if you have 5 movie stars instead of 1, it just wont make it a ww hit per se.
Dofp is the highest grossing X-Men movie That's thanks to the return of the original cast. Fans should celebrate.

I don't know if people know this but Fox was the number one studio. They made over 2billion this year. Why would they run from anybody when they are on such a high.
