so basically Avengers fans get a huge universe, DC fans will get theirs, Spiderman fans will get it too.... everyone except X-Men fans.
exciting.
I still think Apoc is too big of a villain to simply get beaten in a one and done movie. It's the same problem Feige and co will have with Thanos, but at least he's had a significant build-up. I've love a temporary solution, which leaves X5 or another prequel down the line where he returns
Mystique takes care of Logan.Whats the problem with Apocalypse and the end of DOFP
Why do people think APocalypse should move? They sure don't have much faith In Apocalypse.
I don't think the film needs to move, but it would be nice for it to get an opening where it's not in direct competition with another big blockbuster (Through the Looking Glass). I think it should open in early April!
I don't know why they are deviating from the three year window. Just get some other spinoff sandwiched in there. What happened to X-Force? I would have liked to see X-Force late 2016 and Apocalypse May 2017. There isn't enough buildup right now. I think we need a filler movie, just like The Wolverine helped build hype for DoFP for almost a year, albeit it was only an after credit scene. But the difference here would be the filler film would be a prelude to Apocalypse. The only reason I thought they went 2016 was that much of the OT cast would still be featured. But if that's not the case, they should take the full three years. It could still get pushed back, but we'll see. We know for almost a fact that the FF sequel will never be made, so 2017 is open.
Let's be honest, given the critical panning TMNT is getting (and well justified), the sequel is hardly going to be a tentpole movie of the Summer, especially with X-Men preceding it. No need to move
DOFP had a very prolonged box office though, AND was very well received. I don't think FOX are in as bad a position commercially as many of you guys would have us believe...
I think hyping up Apocalypse and the Horsemen would be as big or bigger than Sentinels + Tine-Trvel
Though both First Class and Days of Future Past had separate overarching baddies, Magneto has remained, for the most part, a villain. When asked if he was looking forward to the prospect of going up against a character like Apocalypse, the actor responded, "Yeah, I mean, I haven't got a script or anything yet, but I'm always excited to see where Simon Kinberg's going to go with the next X-Men. X-Men's been great to me and allowed me to do so much, including films like Frank. I've had a lot of fun with the cast and with the character, Magneto. So I had a good chat with Simon [Kinberg] when we were on our way to Moscow, and we tossed around some ideas on the plane over there. So I'm pretty excited to see how it all comes together."
In these most recent iterations of the character, we've seen Magneto's backstory, what made him who he is. We've seen what drives him and how far he's willing to go when he feels that the Mutants are threatened. So the question becomes, where will the character go from here?
"Well, I can't really tell you," Fassbender laughed when we asked what he'd like to explore in the character next. "I want it to be in the next one! I've had these conversations with Simon and there's a certain strand of his story that I think is pretty interesting and would like to explore, if we could."
