Two people with stabbing weapons and healing factors wouldn't be the best call imo. They need to switch it up and give them some grander an more versatile powers for each of the Horsemen.

Guess they would be good opponents for Nightcrawler with his swords and Gambit with his bo though. Believe it was mentioned that the horsemen are ones that have had the role before, so that crosses off Deadpool.

Yea One Street leveler as a horseman is ok but two is pushing it. They need to be grand threats.

they won't recast lucas till for apocalypse since its all part of a trilogy, they will either have him involved or they won't have havok involved

as for another film set in the 80s called X-Factor... again i don't see fox going ahead with that let alone recasting just to do it, i can't see X-Factor having that same potential as say X-Force unless they use it as an Excuse to bring back lawrence as mystique to lead that team but even then havok won't be that important

but i say don't dismiss lucas till as an older havok since its he is an actor after all and its the make up guys job to make him look more mature, he would probably grow facial hair, his hair style would be abit more mature like it was in dofp and he would bulk up ect ect

^I hope Havok is in Apocalypse in a big role, it was shame he was reduced to such a small role in DOFP. The character has lots of potential, especially his story with a young Scott.

Well Young Scott will apparently be in this movie. So maybe that'll be their reason to bring Havok back, to address that connection.

The new faces to the franchise will appear in Apocalypse. They'll be finding/casting them in the coming months. They're going to be Cyclops, Jean, & Storm. No need for a "break". Unless they are absolutely terrible. Kinberg pretty much said this was the plan. Going with that "traditional team".

Apocalypse part 2? Talk about wishful thinking. I highly doubt we'll be getting a repeat any time soon with Apocalypse. "recasted X-Men" We're getting that in Apocalypse.

The only thing Kinberg confirmed is that Apocalypse will be the beginning of how the X-Men became the X-Men. He made no overtures about how X-Men will continue to be the X-Men. Everything depends on what stories are left to tell and box office returns obviously, but I don't think they have plans to continue with classic X-Men indefinitely, every 3-4 years... at least for the time being.

For me, the story about those characters concluded with DoFP and there really isn't much to do following that ending. I don't see Cyclops ever being the LEAD man in any X-Men cinematic universe. It is just wishful thinking from fanboys. The cinematic universe has clearly placed him in a supporting role, and there is nothing to indicate the public and studio wants Cyclops to be the star of the show. The focus in Apocalypse will most definitely be on Xavier and Magneto, as it has in every X-film up till now.

All in all it's premature to say that the franchise will end up continuing with this and that. I only feel the way I feel because of the conclusion of DoFP. I think it's all on a film by film basis in terms of what to expect next, with Fox eyeing an expansion of the universe by featuring different characters in various spinoffs. That much is certain.

Well there alone is a reason to bring him back, plus Havok is a good character in his own right, I wish he was in DOFP more personally, still loved it of course.

He speaks a bit about where he'd like to see the franchise go after Apocalypse here (it starts at 2:14):

I still say the idea there won't be any full X-Men films after Apocalypse Is crazy.

Noone know what the hell Is going on with X-Force.What would sell better
new actors as Cyclops,Jean, and storm or actors as characters unknown to GA.MS can get away with that because they can be marketed with merchandize.Fox can't do that.

Ryan Reynolds Is no Hugh Jackman or Michael fassbender or even james Mcavoy. If Lauren Shueller Donner gets her way and fox signs deal with
Reynolds to play deadpool It's a massive risk. While many may not like
Idea of Channing Tatum as Gambit he's a Star and headlined box office hits.
Reynolds Is almost box office poison at this point.

The enitre reason for time travel "Reboot" In DOFP was to keep films going.

Being unknown to the GA doesn't mean **** anymore. New properties are a good thing and people want fresh films with new characters. Be it Guardians, Deadpool, Doctor Strange, Gambit, X-Force, Sandman, Ms Marvel or whatever. All those films are different. Make them good, advertise them well and people will show.

Of course there's gonna be more X-Men movies. Don't be ridiculous. X-Men is never gonna stop.

some people are still thinking if this was 2000 year industry.
Guardians has done in USA more than any x-men movie ever, and even more than Wolverine movies worldwide, so that says it all.

The 'this character isnt popular' doesnt work anymore, lol. same with 'he's an A-list, while that other actor isnt'. This is the thinking of 2000-2005. The industry and audience have all changed.... a lot

The only thing that would negate any Ryan Reynolds box office poison is Deadpool himself. Deadpool himself should pull people in and if they put together a killer trailer they'll be fine (hopefully)

Your ignoring the fact Fox can't promate X_Men projects like GOTG.

No merchandize In stores to help Promate films. No TV shows to air previews on.

Unknown X-Men related characters are completly different than unknown MS characters.

Cause everyone thought GOTG was gonna be a smash hit beating out all other films this year just cause of the merchandise. All the merch in the world can't save you from a ****** badly advertised film unless your Transformers and you pretty much exist cause of that.

Besides, there's more merch for Deapool then any other character Fox owns. There's more Deadpool at Hot Topic then Avengers actually. But it's especially huge at Cons, where he's easily one of the most popular along with Harley Quinn. Dudes trendy. And since he's a splitting image of the movie version there shouldn't be an issue here. If Marvel cuts off the Deadpool Merch before the movie they themselves will lose a serious grip of money.

Disney and Marvel studios have known about the Deadpool film for awhile since he was in Origins and they announced the solo film in 09. But they still have him show up Ultimate Spider-Man and release video games where he's the star. Only the future will tell if that will change with the release date being announced.

I happen to think Deadpool has all the tools to be the face of a franchise on a surface level at the very least. I'm not even a fan of the character but I think it is obvious that the body of work is there. It just wouldn't be an X-Men franchise in the traditional sense. It doesn't mean the only X-Films going forward have to be "Deadpool and Friends." It simply means they have a viable alternative to the X-Men, and I think the time to realize that is now, so it makes sense that this was greenlit. They can't have a ton of faith in FF as a secondary comic book property either.

Isn't Deadpool like a joke character? Sorry I dont know much about him, but how can he be taken seriously ?

The humor, being an antihero merc and pop culture references definitely play a huge role. But he's a sad character underneath all the jokes and 4th wall breaks. He gets cancer is sadistically tortured to the point of insanity and longs for acceptance.

Wolverine got the easy side of Weapon X.

I mean by 37yo Havok, not Lucas Till.
By the way I don't see Till playing so mature Havok, too.

I don't see them recasting Lucas Till.

In my opinion, if they will ever make a X-Factor film, why just not use the characters from X-Factor Investigations that we haven't seen yet in live-action (well Multiple Man is an exception of course).

:whatever:
Erik using knife against nazis or Wolverine with claws in someone's stomach isn't for kids, you can't compare it to Disney where they have talking raccoon or talking tree.
X-Men are more serious and brutal than Disney movies, even if both are PG-13.

What.

GOTG opened with a kid's mother dying. The raccoon had a machine gun. The talking tree impaled about a dozen people and smashed them to death against a wall.

What movie did you watch?

Probably hasn't seen it. I was having a similar conversation in another forum about people dissing movies they actually haven't watched.

If anything The X-men slip in F-bombs whenever the PG13 will allow which is the only real big adult different

And Some of the more gory ideas are in X-men too tbh, FC coin through the head

Transformers drops F bombs and some pretty extreme violence as well but that's not gonna stop kids from going. It's more the tone difference in any of these film that make the difference imo. But even then I think they all share the same audience. But until X-Men tops out above everyone I think a few people will have a hard time admitting that.

You know how many kids are glued to the TV playing Call Of Duty stabbing and shooting nazis? If kids were not showing up to these, they wouldn't be making over 700m or even 350m. Plenty here watch or read X-Men cause they grew up with it as a kid. It's still a fantasy with people turning into Ice fighting giant robots and fun characters like Quicksilver. That isnt just grabbing the attention of adults.

Fox isn't rating Wolverine or Deadpool R for a reason. And Marvel is not rating GOTG PG for only kids. They are both intended for wide audiences.
