He apparently hated being on set one day & what he was asked 2 do. He described working on the Thor movies as "torture" & in an interview he spoiled 2 things no one outside the crew / tptb / people in the know knew about for AOU

Plus the casting of Elba would please someone like Nokio, who wants En Sabah Nur to be played by a black man, even though he's clearly blue.

While I never thought of Elba for Apocalypse I wouldn't mind him in the role. I also don't recall saying that the actor has to be black, no ifs ands or buts. I even said that Manu Bennett was fine of the role. It should be someone with a racial makeup of Africa. I don't know Bennett's racial make up but he could pass. Rather it be black or people of persian decent that is found in Northern Africa would fit the role. Don't know the racial make up of all of Africa 100 percent so don't shoot me if I'm off.

Well I'm not so sure that Elba releasing that info wasn't ok'd by Marvel/Disney. Those acts sign a confidentiality agreement and I don't see a man like Elba violating that and risk being sued. How much of a stink from Marvel have we've heard about this? None, so I believe Marvel knew and ok'd for him to say it.

Plus Nokio isn't the only one that would like to see poc actor. Blue skin or not, he is suppose to be ancient Egyptians. I personally have intense hate for HW whitewashing specially when it comes to ancient Egypt.

Why would he not be able to play Apocalypse? I pretty sure that Marvel is not putting in contracts saying that actors can't play certain other characters. That's silly and I don't see any actor signing on , especially A-list ones if they are told what roles they can and can't accept if they take this role with Marvel. What, do some here think that Marvel said this to the man ""By the way Mr Elba taking this role means we have a say in what future roles you take and they have to cleared by us before you sign on with another studio" Um NO. It will be all out war on the studios from actors and the unions if studios tried doing this. All Elba has to do is honer his commitment and be their when filming starts on the Marvel film. If him playing Apocalypse doesn't interfere with his contract at Marvel then it's a non issue.

If Elba is under consideration for Apocalypse I can see Fox totally doing this to ruffle feathers at Marvel. They offer Elba a boat load of cash, more then what he's getting at Marvel for a sizable role in Xmen. Elba is probably like I'll do it. I have a leading role and not just a sidekick, which Marvel has been giving to minority actors. I can see Marvel trying to block it by having Elba make an appearance in another Marvel film because of his contract around the same time Xmen begins filming. Maybe they aren't that petty.

Elba is awesome and would be a great choice. That said, he seemed really unhappy when it comes to working with makeup, elaborate costumes and wire work in Thor. So I will be surprised if he takes this or is even interested.

I just saw that as a guy having a bad day on set and venting. He doesn't seem like a vicious guy that would ruin the fun for fans imo

Not bad, not bad at all. I'd make a couple of changes though:

-Wolverine shouldn't be working with the government again. Doing that essentially completely skips over the whole Mystique saving him thing from DOFP. And given how it was the LAST scene of the movie (not counting the stinger), it's something that needs more exploration imo.

-Mags and Mystique should not be working together. It also goes against what happened in DOFP. Also I just flat-out don't like the idea of spending so much time and effort developing Mystique as her own character with her own beliefs/way of doing things, only to then have her quickly go back to Mags and be his follower again. It's just not interesting to me. They should each be doing their own thing independent of each other.

But overall, your ideas are pretty good imo.your ideas are pretty good imo.

Yeah...I had actually forgot that Wolvie would be in this one...didn't really know how to fit him in...I actually could do without him in this one. About Mystique, you may have point there...I could see her being behind him getting his adamantium and manipulating him through Weapon X...

His complaints were not about the character though. He said...

"I’d just done eight months in South Africa [filming 'Mandela: Long Walk to Freedom']. I came to England and the day I came back I had to do reshoots on Thor 2. And in the actual scene my hair was different, my…[sighs]. I was like, ‘This is torture, man. I don’t want to do this.’ My agent said: ‘You have to, it’s part of the deal.’"

"I’m actually falling down from a spaceship, so they had to put me in harness in this green-screen studio. And in between takes I was stuck there, fake hair stuck on to my head with glue, this f—ng helmet, while they reset. And I’m thinking: ’24 hours ago, I was Mandela’…I was literally walking in this man’s boots. [Within] six months, the crew, we were all so in love with this film we had made. I was Mandela, practically. Then there I was, in this stupid harness, with this wig and this sword and these contact lenses. It ripped my heart out."

That's just part of the gig that the majority of actors have to go through. These movies require stunts, effects, wardrobe and makeup. Elba is awesome, but there are plenty of actors and stuntmen/women who deal with much worse everday in this industry. No doubt it can be a dreadful experience but that's what comes with the job they sign up for.

Apparently you're not allowed to vent about your job (or even just one aspect of it) unless you were forced at gunpoint to accept said job. If you chose it there's no way you can have any frustration about it at all or even have a bad day. It's just not possible.

We all vent about our work. Nothing wrong with that at all, it's normal. But I do believe there's a time and place to do it as well as a way to say it a bit more professional to the press/media. The article that quote is from is barely about Thor or Avengers but of course it's headline focused directly on it, cause it would create debate. If Elba just added that it's great to be in the films but the effect work can be frustrating, then that quote would have not heated up as many geek sites.

He's a great actor, and fantastic but underused as Heimdall. Will just be surprised if he takes on a role that will require probably even more makeup, green screen and effects work with those comments. But this franchise would be lucky to have him.

Wouldn't his marvel contract prevent this? Also I would love to see elba as apoc but who could be the other two actors? Also the guy that played apocalypse in the after credits had grey skin and blue lips so elba would have to go for full makeup.

If Elba Is In running for Apocalypse it's because Bryan Singer thinks he would be good for Apocalypse.

It's disserve to his talents to think he would be cast just to ruffle marvel Studios.

Singer's more concerned with making best film he can and trying to top DOFP.Very doudtful what Kevin Feige may or may not think Isn't much a factor In Singer's Decsions.

Forget the end credit guy. Looked like a 14 year old. The character evolves over thousands and thousands of years. I don't know why they put a kid like that in the AC scene, but then again, it's just there for a tease and they may have been going for some historical accuracy. If someone looking like that played Apocalypse next year, it would be laughed out of the building.
