You guys realize Hailee Steinfeild is Asian , how do you explain going from Asian to White

She's part German, Black, Filipino and English amongst a few other ethnic groups.

Really doesn't matter in the end if she looks exactly like a young Famke. She looks similar enough for it not to be distracting imo, and they need to cast based on performance regardless. Famke's looks really can't be the deciding factor.

It's not like they go into detail about ethnic backgrounds in the film or anything.

In that case lets cast Jean Grey as black or fully Asian, do you see how ridiculous this sounds, Jean Grey isn't multi-ethic or any other race than White,
in the X-Men Cinematic Universe, their adult version of Jean Grey is fully White,
why would you cast a younger version of that with another race... complete foolishness

Foolishness is not casting a talented actress (that doesn't look that far from the part to begin with) because she's multiethnic.

Just show Steinfeld's picture to anyone, without revealing any details about her, and then ask them what race/ethnicity that they think she is. I bet you any money that the vast majority of them are going to guess that she's Caucasian. And beside, it's irrelevant since most members of the GA don't think about stuff like that. If they are enjoying the movie, then they're not going to sit there obsessing about the actor/actress not looking 100% like their older counterparts. They certainly haven't for MacAvoy, Fassbender, or Lawrence.

Elba is awesome and would be a great choice. That said, he seemed really unhappy when it comes to working with makeup, elaborate costumes and wire work in Thor. So I will be surprised if he takes this or is even interested.

I think it is also worth noting Idris Elba was going through a rough personal patch at the time with his father passing away from Lung Cancer.

It doesn't matter if Hailee is not "fully" white, she looks white regardless. In fact, I was surprised to hear she has Asian ancestry as you definitely cannot tell from first glance.

Idk whom this is in reference to but I wasn't saying to change her race to black or fully Asian. I'm speaking in general people are limiting whom they want to play these characters just because they want them to match up with their older counterparts, it's a light reboot my point was to focus moreso on actresses whom can actually act. Like my gripe was with the Storm character because I feel it's just going to be a pretty light skin woman they pick not necessarily someone who can act, I hope I clarified myself I know it's alot lol.

I don't think she is fitting for Jean or Psylocke.

She looks a little too sweet. Maybe she would be more fitting as Jubilee or Husk.

The girl is 4/25ths Filipino.. It's such a microscopic part of her... y'all need to get a hold of yourself.

Agreed. I'd also say she bares no resemblance to Psylocke (post body switch) either and would also be offended if she were cast as Betsy as well.

Both of those characters are unmistakably of Asian heritage and both look it.

Also, let me say, based on looks the should cast (from the three rumored) Ben Hardy as Scott.

Chloe is by far the better Jean choice.

And I'm sticking with my Zendaya recommendation for Ororo.

They should be looking for actors and actresses, who can act, but that look the parts. They need to look like this:

Keke Palmer is my top choice for a teenage Storm. She's 21, but could pass for a teenager, I think.

She has definitely been drawn to look asian.

There are times where she looks extremely Japanese and times when she doesn't at all. Like any character in comics it depends on the artist. And also in Betsy's case which body she is in.
