Whether the original trilogy & Wolverine films are wiped out , those films are still connected to the upcoming films. Like you can't watch DOFP without seeing the flashbacks from the films that got wiped out right? Because if its not the case, people wouldn't have a reaction seeing Jean/Cyclops again alive. Also Fox won't stop releasing them in box-sets with the upcoming films. So its a not total clean slate. The filmmakers would still look back at those films so as the people who saw them.

The lack of X-Men clothing, home goods, toys, Disney Infinity figures, video games, halloween costumes and cartoons is not bad for Fox in the slightest? Unless FOX and Marvel reach some kind of agreement in these areas, FOX is going to be struggling mightily to maintain the X-Men fanbase going forward.

It didn't seem to hurt DOFP. So I guess no. Having those merchandises would be great and it could definitely boost the box-office gross but its not the be all of things because if thats the case, Spider-Man should have outgrossed DOFP since TASM2 has a videogame tie-in/merchandises and Spidey has an on-going cartoon series right now.

Yeah, it's not gonna stop people from seeing the flicks.

The wolverine we see In Apocalypse will have no memory of the events of the trilogy or most of wolverine films.

we don't know if we will see the wolverine who woke up at end of DOFP who still remembers trilogy & WOlverine films. We may.We may not. That's a question mark.

We have gotten strong indication Wolverine's back story Is being changed In Apocalypse. If Nightcrawler makes cut then his entire role In x2 has been
overwritten. The weapon X project may never happen In films now and Wolverine gets his adamanturm from Apocalypse.

Yeah fox In future could sell sets of past X-Men films with newer ones but that doesn't mean anything.Casino Royale was quite clearly reboot of james Bond films yet 50th annivarssy sold the Criag films with the precraig films.

The approach they did with X-Men is a bit like Star Trek. With trek they didn't want to abide with any contunity even Enterprise which took place before the time travel at begining of trek 2009 but they wanted to fool or at least silence the longtime trekkers. Thus they got Leonard Nimoy for both Trek and Into Darkness and they are trying to get William Shatner and Nimoy for next film. With X-Men they wanted to do away with everything that wasn't First Class but they wanted to be able to keep Hugh jackman as wolverine. The ending was a way to fool or at least silence fans of trilogy or first 2 films by having most of X_Men of trilogy alive at end of film even though ending means the trilogy has been erased. Now this leaves them opotion of using the Non-Jackman members of Original Cast seen at end of DOFP again if they set any more X-Men films In that time frame but even If they do they will be playing different versions of characters not the versions they played In trilogy.Just like If Shatner and Nimoy are indeed In next Star Trek film they would be playing older versions of reboot Kirk and Spock not the Kirk and Spock trekkers knew and loved.

I just wish they would stop having Kinberg with his double talk trying to fool some into thinking any of trilogy will still happen.

Actually, one thing I don't see come up a lot is Wolverine's amnesia. Assuming he becomes a Horsemen and gets the adamantium that way, he'd never have to suffer Stryker and Weapon X... meaning his memories would be perfectly in tact. James Howlett all the way through. Is that right? And would fans be okay with that?

Doesn't matter, he gets killed by OT Wolverine in 2023 anyway :funny:

I think you'll find they do a "Apoc erases his mind so he works for him" workaround for that one

Problem with kinberg and I have seen comments from others pointing this out that he contradicts Himself and his own logic to much

I'm late to the party so is Wolverine going to be in X-Men Apocalypse?

didnt the official synopsis include Hugh Jackman? I remember reading it

In terms of feats of power for the characters, purely from a speculative point. What is everyone thinking in regards to like say how powerful should Storm be? For me I think maybe for her they could show that she has the arsenal of power at her command such as the tornados in x2, but that she can lose control of it. So Xaviers job with her is to teach her how to control her emotion. With Cyc it may be that Xavier needs to teach him about restraint when it comes to unleashing his full eye blast. With Jean the door is wide open now I guess.

Also is there a chance we may get some news from NYCC? FOX are doing a thing with IGN for DOFP
We are in October after all, surely news can start coming soon for casting?

Yeah, they're doing the DVD release party tonight. I haven't heard anything about NYCC itself, though. I'll be there tomorrow night and Saturday, keeping an eye out for anything.

I considered that, and it works for me just fine. But then wouldn't Apocalypse do that for each of the Horsemen? (I've never read an Apocalypse story).

The thing I find with Apocalypse is that all the variations on his horsemen and how he creates them or convinces them in all the variations of his story allow them to pretty much go into this with a blank slate and do what they want.

I could see him convincing some to simply follow him as horsemen as well as perhaps having some more radical methods if he wants a particular person as a horseman. Now the fact that the wolverine in the 80's would have no memory of any of the x-men other than the "acid trip" would mean he could be pretty easy to convince without brainwashing, especially if he has had Mystique whispering in his ear for 10 years.

The Wolverine we see at the end of DOFP in the future has technically just rebooted the origin we saw in x1 in that xavier is telling him all his memories (again). most of which having him as one of the x-men, but he may also throw in "there was a period in the 80's where we kinda lost you and Apocalypse convinced you that we were evil and you tried to kill us all but as you can tell... we sorted that out"

Its a disaster movie so hopefully we see her due some crazy feats like full o thunderstorms wiping out Apocalypse army
An omni blast for cyclops
And Jean Grey mind controlling a whole infantry of soldiers

I hope we get something like the Battle of NY feel in this one I want to see Lots of explosions and mayhem. And the X-men work as a team.
