I think if they ever plan on setting up a shared universe/multiple films a year, they can easily explain tons of things (look at MCU). New Mutants, X-Factor, X-Force, Excalibur, Dazzler, Cable, All New Wolverine, even Hellfire lol. Too bad, looks like even Kinberg doesn't know where they are going... (or they do if the New Mutants rumor was true :D)

Kinberg is loved by studios (Fox, Lucas Films, and Disney), he is not going anywhere. While he is not a great writer, he is a good producer. He keeps things in line and is a good middle person between studios and filmmakers, and he keeps things on budget.

Trolls wanted "comic accuracy" and now we might get Ye Olde Sliding Timescale . Lolol
I love it.

Anyway, this series is 15 years old and still has an actor or two that was there at the beginning. Sliding Timescale has been staring us blankly in the face since they made First Class with timestamps built into the story.

I'm excited about it. I don't want a lack of imagination or unwillingness to imagine to prevent our new young X-Men from teaming up with Colossus and Deadpool or whoever else Fox might want to introduce.

Also, "Garr! They're making it up as they go along!" posts are and will continue to be hilarious.

*eye roll.

If you want to last on these boards, don't throw the "T" word around here so leisurely...

The "comic accuracy" and what fans mean what they want was very nicely summed up yesterday... very well worded , rational, and clearly...

Trolls provoke... and the only one I've seen over the last 2 days provoke anyone in here has been you...

Eric could easily help xavier built it again in this film with upgrades and that line would be fine again.

At this point it's abit late

Actually, I didn't foresee that. But sure. Here you go Apocalypse and Havok destroy Cerebro in their battle. Then at the end of the movie, almost as a small mea culpa, Magneto reconstructs Cerebro from its ruins for Charles. They may never be on the same side again, but it would be the act of a friend.

And like that the continuity hole is closed... of course then someone will point out that Apocalypse only was awakened in this timeline, and so he could never have destroyed in that way where Erik would have to help fix it. But we suggest you not think too much about these things and just enjoy yourselves.

Phoenix Egg no one is trolling. We are discussing.

I will never understand why some fans put so much stock and concern in continuity, literally sometimes at the expense of quality. Sure, First Class and Days of Future Past do not mesh perfectly together with the other seven films in the franchise, but if you like the movies it becomes ultimately moot in the end.

While I agree it's best to ignore a bad movie especially when it sticks out like a sore thumb continuity wise... let's also not act like continuity is detriment. It's certainly a challenge and a complication. But it's also part of what strengthens a franchise as a whole...

All the best film series have very strong continuity... star wars, Harry Potter, Lord of the Rings, etc...

And truthfully this franchise old get alot less backlash that many of you hate if the franchise was actually mapped out better with stronger continuity.

Xmen has a great story to tell, there's really no valid reason it shouldn't be able to be done with continuity in tact. And i get it.. people are tired of complaints about it... and see how the FC trilogy has great continuity with itself and that's all very true. But unfortunately the franchise is still suffering from Origins and X3 and the films the ignored the continuity in those unfortunately get the blame.

It's complicated, but it is what it is.

I'd love that

I see that point and agree to an extent. I think series with strong continuity--I would also add Indiana Jones, Nolan's Batman movies, and Back to the Future off the top of my head--have a richer texture because of it. Then again, most of those have only several installments.

While I am not one of the great lovers of the MCU around here, I respect that they have lasted 11 films without any major gaff.

Be that as it may, the real problems here (other than a few dropped lines in X1) are a prologue in the despised X3 and the plot of the universally loathed and ignored Origins movie. The choice to ignore them led to First Class and Days of Future Past, and Deadpool being much better movies as a result. When people devalue that we have three great movies simply because they contradict two bad ones, I just shrug.

Who knows really. Eventually he breaks out or mystique breaks him out like she did in X2. Charles also in DoFP was pushed to move past his issues by wolverine but I guess in the original timeline he would have taken a longer time to move on and start recruiting.

If we look at it like this.

Charles and Hank living in the mansion probably for years before they both decide to get up and move on. Eventually Magneto escapes/Mystique gets away from being captured too and they both go off and start doing their thing. Hank leaves and Cyclops, Jean and Storm are recruited by Professor X. No apocalypse, no nightcrawler until later on etc.

X3's opening made it pretty likely that Erik some how must of been freed, and forgotten about otherwise he'd be a wanted man and a terrible criminal when they recruited Jean. But it's best to pretend he was never their at this point

And I completely agree with that. But I also see the frustration of the fact while those 2 films were bad... some of the nuances and back stories of the franchise were kinda actually good, (some aspects). And the films after them chose to flat out ignore even the good parts. When it didn't need to.

It sorta felt like they kept the bad, but ignored the good in some ways..

Then it's also equally frustrating as a fan to see those supposedly creating an X universe franchise contradict each other.

I agree with most the x-universe needs some sort of plan and unity going forward from now on. That will certainly start changing minds and strengthening optimism I think. I know I'd at least feel a bit better and more confident.

Most likely happening given Trailer 2's opening and the behind the scenes, Erik and Charles look notably like they reconciled. By the end of this movie, they'll likely agree to disagree about their paths.

Seriously though. Magneto goes from accused assassin of JFK, where there's a whole secret controversy of, even a "Free Magneto" protest, and somehow escapes and is able to become co-founder for a publically known prep school and seen publically to recruit mutants. Just thinking in that logic.

What does everyone want from the the new trailer?

We kinda got one already but I just want to see a quick, but undeniable power display from Jean.

And the unedited Poccy voice. Don't know why they messed with that.

The innocent need not feel guilty. If I wanted to call anyone in particular a troll, I would have.

If you feel like you're doing wrong, simply correct your behavior.

Maybe in the original timeline, the truth came out that he was actually trying to save JFK and was quietly exonerated? Or he has been hiding under a different alias like how he was 'Xavier's cousin' when he was headmaster of the New Mutants?

A lot of possibilities.

I just want a scene with Jubilee. All of the smaller roles from DOFP got glimpses in the trailers... No reason Jubilee shouldnt be in this one.

In the new trailer, I just want to hear the actors who are doing accents speak (Storm, Nightcrawler, and Jean).

This is what I want well Storm and Nightcrawler and to actually see a power display from Jean. I think a major power outburst from Jean would be a better see that a Wolverine cameo that's going to make so many excited. Also would be great to see XMen vs Apocalypse or everyone versus him at the end, as well as the new costumes in action but I know that's asking alot

Yeah...this is going to be interesting isn't it?

Munn should have gone ahead and tried a British accent.

That's the movie. I want it too.

I want like the first minute and a half to be dialogue and whatnot, then the last minute or 45 seconds to just be action packed and really bring it. Would love to see the last shot all the x-men teaming up on apoc but it'll probably be a shot of wolverine.

I heard this trailer is really suppose to reveal the full scope of the film that the last trailers didn't, so it'll be interesting to see what they've put together this time around.

Isn't this timeline different? Maybe Magneto doesn't help X rebuild Cerebro.

I don't even know what I want from the trailer. Well, I do want it to leave people impressed, like the last two DOFP trailers.
