This is fair. I think because comic books are so drenched in continuity, though often with far more errors and logic gaps than these films, fans expect some semblance of that. And I do think it textures a long running series like Star Wars quite well. Yet even there, there are continuity gaps that nobody cares about when The Force Awakens is entertaining.

So yep, I think people latch onto this because it is a noticeable issue with this particular franchise while Marvel Studios does not have it, so they keep beating the drum. I just wish they were as demanding of Marvel to come up with a villain half as good as Magneto or a third act as exhilarating as Days of Future Past, but here we are.
Agreed.

Oh God...Spider-man Homecoming? Really???

Not a good night for Marvel :S (with the probable exception of Cap 3 being a great film).

I'm really not hating. Though X-men is my first love, I also like my Marvel films.

I'm really not a fan of the Homecoming title either... but "not a good night" is subjectable... people are eating it up.

It appears they're actually having a great night. I'm just a little disappointed

IMO of course. And it's subjective not subjectable. :oldrazz:

I'd love to see in the next trailer X-Men in really X-Men costumes fighting in NY against Apocalypse. Also the Blackbird showed in the last trailer in action, not an X-Weapon Jet.

If they would just simply plan stuff out, these could be easily avoided and that's their biggest issue - they don't plan things out with this universe at all.

Agreed, they can but they don't.

Fox need to have one main person at the helm who has a big role in the franchise. Lauren kind of is that but it doesn't seem she's as involved with the X films compared to Kevin with the Marvel ones. They need one or a few people in charge really keeping things on track but it seems they're doing that now. So no need to worry. Bryan looks to be involved with producing everything as is Simon who is also lending to each story but not writing it all. I think right now they're doing well.

That is the thing, X-Men franchise needs a Kevin Feige to take care for all the movies and make them have sense between each other.

Magneto not helping Xavier build Cerebro is probably the biggest continuity error since X2 depends on it. I'm not a huge FC fan but the continuity errors aren't really a factor for me.

I think Eric and Charles will rebuilt it at the end of the movie.

Having Eric and Charles rebuild cerebro would be fine and least would shut some people up who complain about continuity but overall it actually wouldn't add up since while you are explaining how Eric helped build cerebro they are also introducing nightcrawler early which is like fix one and change another

Maybe in the original timeline, the truth came out that he was actually trying to save JFK and was quietly exonerated? Or he has been hiding under a different alias like how he was 'Xavier's cousin' when he was headmaster of the New Mutants?

A lot of possibilities.

If you was to go by the bent bullet website which i believe made it sound like he got out of prison some time before X1.

the website isn't canon though.

I heard this trailer is really suppose to reveal the full scope of the film that the last trailers didn't, so it'll be interesting to see what they've put together this time around.

Makes sense since it does feel like they held alot back possibly because effects being more complicated and needing more work.

And lets be honest the scope and effects is what impresses people about comic book movies.

this is where that announcement is read into a bit much...

1) Natalie Portman was likely never going to be in Thor 3 due to the fact Earth really isn't likely to be featured in it. That was apparent the moment they announced it was a "world hopping buddy adventure with hulk" that never left real room for her, especially since she likely wouldn't be on Asgard again.. and would quite honestly hold the story back.. if people needed to protect an earth woman the whole time while Asgard is crumbling in Ragnarok.

None of this has stopped them before, infact her not appearing would feel abit odd after the ending of Thor 2

I think the gap between DOFP and Apocalypse has flown by. I am truly #blessed

Nightcrawler is being introduced "early" because history changed. That's not an error.

Yeah, but both could be explained as the DOFP time-line reboot. The continuity was spoiled in FC and yet was the movie that they are keeping as base.

Anyway, continuity is very important for a franchise imo and now they have the chance to make it right. We should just try to forget the OT and Wolverine incongruences and look to a bright future.

Off Topic: I loved the Doctor Strange teaser.

i mean in terms of adding up with X2, explaining something in this new timeline to stop continuity complainers but then introduce nightcrawler early just just adds and takes

Wonder if they'll include more shots from ancient Egypt detailing Apocalypse backstory. Singer did hint the film begins with a huge battle in Egypt.

I missed that bit of info about the film possibly starting with a huge battle, maybe it's showing his first Horsemen and how they turned on him. I love Anciebt Egypt culture so seeing more of that will be welcomed by me.

I saw the Dr Strange teaser and it was ok but it was the teaser trailer so I wasn't expecting much but considering they just finished filming I think the graphics I did see looked good. I'm sure the next trailer will expose more.

The Doctor Strange trailer is out now, and looking cool. If we're getting something from the X-Men soon, it will cap a strong period of a week or so for genre-themed trailers.

Hope Fox makes other announcements at Cinemacon.

Fox is starting to make announcements with Kingsman :D Hope more news for Wolverine, New Mutants, Deadpool/X-Force & next X-Men movie.

Not terrible. And yay, that means trailer soon.

That might just be my favorite X-Men posters so far. Nightcrawler and Storm are the only ones who placement seems a bit awkward to me.

Also lolling at this being a third of the DoFP cast.

It's miles ahead that terrible DOFP poster. Should also work for people who keep complaining about Mystique being the only lead.

Nice poster I love how Storm looks like she's about to take off in flight. These posters are great only Nightcrawler looks out of place. (Just his pose)I'm hoping this means the trailer is coming soon.
