Look at Deadpool, they weren't trying to sell a Ryan Reynolds movie but a Deadpool movie.

Truth be told they ain't trying to sell a J law movie either, ryan appeared without the mask in the trailers so we still see he was in it but it was about the character as you say, now same could be said for raven/mystique

Some people also said that Wolverine wasn't there. If that's true then shame on El Maysomething. That's pretty embarrassing on him, considering how wide the rumors went.
He's always been "Eh Maybe" though, LOL.

But, to be fair, Endzone here did hint at it before Eh Maybe got that scoop.:oldrazz: Unless Endzone was just being speculative.

To be honest Reynolds was in a rut box office wise before Deadpool. A few too many low-performers.

Lucky for him he's perfect for Deadpool and it struck a cord with audience. Plus excellent timing.

Also they had Ryan Reynolds shirtless in the trailer. Even though it was only a short single scene. He is eye candy and that has been exploited in the trailer so it's not fair to say that Deadpool didn't advertise him.

Let's be honest though, If they were really making her the center of the marketing, they would give her first billing like with Hugh for DoFP and she would have been in the center of the final poster instead of James.

The thing about billing is Hugh Jackman has been in the franchise longer and had his own Wolverine movies, while when Jennifer had her first X-Men film with McAvoy/Fassbender, she wasn't a superstar yet and was billed right after McAvoy and Fassbender. And I don't think that is suddenly gonna change even if she wins a dozen Oscars.

Saw a couple people say Fox's presentation or something said there's another untitled Fox/Marvel property coming in 2017. Might just be Gambit or Wolverine 3 since it's technically untitled.

Not the most reliable but something

JoBlo's Twitter says that there are no Wolverine or X-franchise reveals today.

But they had X-Men M&Ms! XD

I remember when I was literally praying that Deadpool would do well because of Reynolds star power and because of the last Fox CBM that came out.

Wolverine 3 has a date, so I doubt its that. Is this the October 2017 date? Or another one? Maybe it is New Mutants, especially if those casting rumors were true and they have already casted a few of them.

People on Twitter said that it's the best trailer so far, and that the action tops all the earlier movies, and you are talking about JLaw?

If it's an epic trailer it will sell the movie, Jennifer in lead or not.

Well the guy also reported before that Jason Mamoa was casted as Drax, Chris Pine was Green Lantern instead of Steve Trevor, and Jesse Eisenberg's Lex ritually shaved his head, built his empire from the ground from living on the streets as a teenager and had tattooed sleeves.

I'very seen better credibility on 4Chan

Could be the October film but moving it to a different date? Because WB scheduled an event film for that date on their panel!

If GOTG had had a star like Lawrence in it, you can be 100% certain the marketing would have pushed that. Nobody in that cast is comparable to her.

To a much lesser (?) extent Bradley Cooper and Diesel (American Sniper and Fast Franchise) could be said to be but:

(1) they didn't have to remind us "Bradley Cooper is in our movie!!!" "Vin is in our movie!!!"
(2) they didn't write their movie around so said character could have as much face time as possible.

Surprised they haven't released it yet... Like Doctor Strange.

They missed out on the MTV Movie Awards too...

Good point and even though they flashed Bradley/Vin's name in the trailers, the others like Chris Pratt and the wrestler, their names were also flashed too in the screen. And I feel like thats much better way to market your actors if Fox really wants to take advantage of their cast members' star power.

I mean for DOFP, they could flash the names of Hugh, Patrick, Ian, Halle, Jennifer, Michael, Ellen in the trailer and posters but nope, we only got Hugh's name in posters and a giant Mystique in the main poster. Then here, with Apocalypse, I guess Rose Bryne, Michael, Jennifer, Oscar and Olivia.

The MTV Awards presentation with Ellen Page was really awkward... lol

Haha wow, you're not really comparing Jennifer Lawrence as Mystique to two voice actors? You can't tell me the marketing wouldn't have focused on Bradley Cooper if he was playing Star Lord. And Vin Diesel isn't even a selling point. Every movie he has been in has bombed, outside of the Fast & Furious movies.
