Even with casual wardrobe loyal fans on this board have ripped it apart for years.

Interesting, I never knew this. How does one rip that apart? The X-Men seem to wear what normal people wear everyday, isn't that the point of casual wardrobe?

The new costume are not all that impressive as everyone is making them out to be. They look cheap and like someone said above me, they're not the classic suits. They only resemble them slightly, in some cases. Maybe people like them beause they are a change from the usual black we see all the time. Idk.

Ugh, will we ever get great X-Men costumes?

Pfft, I doubt you were this harsh on Captain America's first costume in The First Avenger, or Scarlet Witch's costumes in Age of Ultron, or Hawkeye's costume in the Avengers films, or Nolan's Batman costumes...

Seriously, I think some fans look for reasons to complain with these movies.

I like the new costumes (though not as much as the awesome FC jumpsuits), but I question the timing of their introduction. It seems like a wasted opportunity if the paintball suits are featured during the bulk of the film and the individualized outfits don't show up until the end.

Now this I kind of agree with. But we will have to see how it plays out, I suppose.

or, could it be possible, that some people actually feel the costumes look cheap and plastic and sub-par??
nope, gotta be biased 'Marvel Zombies' :whatever:

by the way, did anybody else also thinks that this animated fire Magneto fights against in the trailer will actually be Jean Grey revealing the Phoenix for the first time?!

Exactly. People cant seem to fathom that not everyone will like everything thats being presented. Some people here get tha others just share a different opinion, but others think you must like and see things the way they do. I dont get it.

well, there is a large percentage of people (a.k.a. fanboys) who actually dislike only for the sake of disliking in superhero forums or youtube channels...for example: "buhu, Sophie Turner's eyecolor is not right"...

I am not saying they are Marvel Zombies. I am saying in general the fan community looks to specifically nitpick and complain with this franchise, because of past frustrations (namely X3 and Wolverine Origins), and because Fox makes them as opposed to it being "in-house."

This is not so much pro-Marvel, as anti-Singer/Fox. Because no, I do not think these are any worse or more of a deviation than Scarlet Witch, Hawkeye, or Nolan's Batman (or especially any of Nolan's villains who despite being brilliantly realized on screen, sans Talia, mostly look only faintly similar to their comic book roots). But because of who made this movie, it is more of a problem for online fans. Meanwhile, if they had returned to the yellow/blue jumpsuits from First Class (which I did love), fans would probably bring up how they weren't individualized.

My point is people will complain about these movies no matter the choice made.

But its a very wrong stance to just assume everyone is like that if they express disagreement with something. Thats almost just as bad. This section isnt that extreme but Ive seen some of the forums on this site where people will get attacked if their opinions dont jive with what the crowd is gushing over

First Class can suck it in the uniformed costuming dept.

Not yet sold on some of these (like to see them in motion), but I lean more towards the DOFP future suits, Apoc Horseman suits,
and the current military garb (after seeing them in full from those magazine shots).

That's true, to an extent
but I think it's largely because this franchise still makes some questionable choices

for example... I, for one, am certainly no DC fan, I'm sick of the internet obsession with Batman, hated MoS, had no interest in seeing BvS, yet the production and costume design on those films is miles above anything from the X-films outside of Deadpool. And I hate the MoS Superman suit, but it still looks of a better quality than anything from these movies. The MCU is in the same boat, imo. Things are different from the source, yes, but there's a higher quality to it and more thought and better design put into everything they do. I don't know if it's the designers themselves or Singer or the studio, but it's sub-standard for the genre at this point

Personally, I really want to love these movies, but some things continue to feel cheap and poorly thought out, and keep them from reaching that upper level of quality

I really like the costumes, but could they be better? Of course, I think there's always room for improvement but they aren't awful by any stretch of the imagination.

I just fail to see how what we see at the end is in any way really different than we see in other films.

It is a fabric look, which is different then leather or hard rubber. And, I think it evokes the idea of the skin tight costumes from the comics better than actual spandex.

I mean, that's my biggest issue with the MCU Spidey suit, is the lack of texture to the suit. It makes it feel CGI.

I can understand the Spidey thing, constant CGI bothers me too
but hey, if ya don't see a difference in the physical costumes, im happy for you

it could be that these just dont translate well in photographs. Maybe they look alot better in motion when we see them with better lighting in HD

magneto by far has the best improvement over costume

Absolutely! And you might like one costume but not like another--there's a lot of people in that group.

Personally, the FC costumes were the best for me, mainly because they embodied the original X-men outfits (but that look wouldn't work here).

As long as we don't get all black leather, I'm good. The actors looked so stiff in those.

Well I was holding out hope that there was another battle with the new uniforms, mostly because of Mystique's speech. I guess this confirms it's just a danger room scene at the end.

This was an obvious, last minute look. DOFP and X:A are leagues above Magneto's final FC costume, definitely.

The only costume that doesn't work for me in that picture is Storm's. Which is especially annoying as her horseman look is fantastic.

Mystique's, the jury is out on.

Cyclops looks incredible.
