This is kind of off topic but I would love to somehow get a Spiderman and the X-Men film one day. I always felt like Spidey meshed better with the X-men than the Avengers.

Oh god. What have I done...

All I said was Spider-Man 2 was the perfect comic book superhero movie and everyone acts like I said Grown Ups 2 is the next Citizen Kane. You all ********s need to relax them glooots and understand that... X-Men: Apocalypse is underrated.

Did I just say that? Oh no. Hold the fort, boys and girls.

All you did was get get me started on why i dislike spider-man 2, thanks for that

That's fine. And I like the new Fantastic 4, so yeah. We all got something wrong with us.

I haven't seen it so I can't say for sure but going by the reviews... it wasn't great, not sure that says much about your comic book movie judgement

I 100 % agree! Simply a beautiful movie with such a strong message.

Unfortunately "X-Men: Apocalypse" was such a HUGE disappointment in comparison to all of his other X-Men movies...

Apocalypse is not as good as DOFP, or X2. But again I thought the arcs for the major characters were handled well. And nobody seems to be talking about this, but I thought Mystique's arc, not only in this film but across the whole trilogy was very good.

Also the idea of Apocalypse being a cult leader, and Magneto being drawn into his cult when he's at his lowest point was interesting. That's such a dark subject matter to explore in a comic book film, in a way it reminded me of DOFP basically turning Professor X into a drug addict.

No things don't come together as well as the films previously mentioned but Apocalypse has heart, which is a key component to an X-Men film imo. And I will say that I do think there's a deeper meaning to the film that I haven't fully comprehended yet. I'm very curious to hear the commentary when the Blu-Ray is released.

Like I said, you and me both, have something wrong in us.

If I had to rank the X-Men movies, it would be:

X-Men: DOFP
X2
X-Men: Apocalypse
X-Men: FA
X-Men
X-Men 3

I'm not going to lie, it's hard for me going back to the early 2000's films mainly because....of bad haircuts and wigs everybody has. And those leather costumes......

Spider-Man 2 was one of the reasons I stopped posting here a decade or so ago. After Spider-Man 3 the Raimi films suddenly got so much hate. I know people didn't care for them at the time, but I could never relate to those people.

I guess because their tone, humor and overall style just isn't for everyone, and that's fine. I'm looking forward to Homecoming after seeing Civil War, and am surprised by this because I still haven't even bothered to watch all of ASM 2

I would agree that Apocalypse is underrated. Because of the reviews (and the fact that the first time I saw it I was rather drunk), I was telling people that I liked it despite it's flaws, but after watching it again, I've just started telling people it's good.

Every movie has flaws, this movie IS a good movie. Just because it isn't the best X-men movie doesn't mean we should acknowledge or apologize for any of it's shortcomings.

I couldn't believe when I heard certain critics say in regards to Civil War that it's the best Spider-Man film ever made. What?! Spider-Man 2 has real emotional depth, and you can relate to Peter's story and the difficult decisions that he has to make. I can't believe people would compare that film to the cameo that he had in Civil War.

As someone who essentially broke up with the character and Sony after they decided to reboot the franchise twice in ten years, I was very skeptical about Tom Holland.

I ended up loving him, but yeah seriously, some people need to wait until his own movie to declare him the best.

The Hulk was fantastic in the Avengers, but Avengers 2? No one really cared.

Even Quicksilver, who effectively stole the show for many in DOFP, is getting a more mixed response the second time around.

Novelty fades, you just have to hope there is an actual character there once it does

Finally been able to go and see this X-Movie and..... wtf is all the hate and negative reviews all about?

It's not AMAZING.. The story line is a little more basic than Singers other movies, and there's not really much of a theme to it but it was a thoroughly fun and entertaining movie. Really doesn't deserve the slating it's getting.

The audience seemed to enjoy it from the reactions and were even laughing at the end jokes so were still clearly paying attention. The cinema was pretty full too (in London).

After the reviews, I was just waiting for it to get bad... but it didn't. I even ended up enjoying Apocalypses character and, despite a slow making-the-band start to the film (and I'm not sure Magneto [blackout]needed more tragedy in his life[/blackout]) the momentum it build going in the end act was great. The young cast were fun too.

Most people I've talked to about it IRL seem to prefer it to Civil War (not that im agreeing with them) and the only real complaints is that there are too many "cheesy" fan-nod moments.

FF isn't one of best comic book films but it's not one of the worst of all times.
I enjoyed it for what it was.an attempt to do film version of ultimate FF.

I disagree, I think there's a strong theme of family. Which I thought was appropriate with this being the capper to the First Class trilogy.

People just hate on everything here. I actually watched Spider-Man 2 again recently and it's still a really great movie.

X1 pretty much started the CBM renaissance, X2 is still great, and I loved DOFP too.... but people on the forums/talkbacks go on continually about how Singer has destroyed the entire franchise and not made a good X-Men movie yet :/

(Made a double post sorry, i don't know how to delete)

Yup', really strong family theme. It also kept the axis of memory and letting go in DoFP, accepting the repress and the fear of unleashing powers. All those where linked pretty well allowing a sublime catharsis in the end.

They were also multiple reference to lost of Home and linked to nature.

The groundbreaking to me was the blurring the limits of Charles mind, his house is his psychic headspace and heart. So when he get the X-Men ready at the end it was like he renforce himself. Overall it blured the limits of him and he mansion and his student. They are one. As a family.

very true.while i like aSM better both spider-man 1 and 2 are great.

The critics taking apocalypse to woodshed has allowed the anti-singer people
to come out of the woods and have excuse to bash him. They were kind of quiet after DOFP.listening to empire podcast i suspect some were taken aback by singer adding more comic booky things in apocalypse and a bit more humor and feel it hurt the usual drama of previous X-Men films.

Mr. High and Mighty, i suggest you start respecting people's opinions. I question your taste but you dont see me trolling your posts like you are others. Learn some respect

Just saw it.

Enjoyed myself greatly.

Actually have no complaints outside minor liberties taken here and there.

Don't know what everybody who complained wanted out of this film but I was satisfied.

I give it a solid, earth-shaking 8/10.

If I had of gotten a little bit more action out of Storm, Psylocke, Mystique and Jean, it would've been a 10 for me.

My sis gave it a 10/10 because she was just happy to see Jean do something...lol

I also like it more than Civil War. :)

It's not surprising to give the movie a score of 10/10 especially when you're a Jean Grey fan. :)

I wanna see more of Storm. I hope to see Halle in Wolverine 3 and Shipp in New Mutants.

Anyway, Deadpool has just been shown in Japan in June 1. Let's hope it'll do well. :)
