there are a lot of characters in the old man logan storyline that fox can't touch. i would expect that some of them are replaced by mutans from the x men universe. i would expect more original cast people besides patrick stewart. i don't think famke is done playing jean.

I do hope this is the case as well but I don't know if they'll bring along a lot of them with flashy powers that would only increase how much the cost will be correct. I do want a bad @$& Rogue though in it and possibly Storm but she has the very flashy powers so I'm not sure would love to see her as her Perfect Storm persona all deadly and scarred from fighting Wolverine my gosh I'd scream. I think with Jackman being done bringing on some of the OT would be a very nice swan song.

well if they are doing old man logan, the members of old cast could be either dead, in hiding or evil. and if it's happening after they are all dead because he has longevity, why if professor x still there ?

A one off film lol yea I can see that but any character can do that really because some have very rich back stories. Storm,Psylocke among a few could do that. I just would prefer them as apart of a team. I'm really missing Blinks portal though that was such a nice depiction of teamwork between the members. It's a shame XMen are known for being a family yet we have so little of teamwork between them in the movies. If they nail the characterizations with these characters and no longer keep using these characters for power displays and actually give them development instead of one and done wasting of them or killing them offscreen when so much potential is there (Banshee,Emma,Darwin) they can't keep making these same mistakes.

I will always prefer a team X-film to any solo of them. Even in the comics I didn't like the issues that focused on one character's story as much. Yes the portals were so well executed that I wouldn't mind her getting a promotion compared to where she classically ranks among X-characters, (similarly to how Mystique has bagged herself so much more screen time than you would expect) so that she could appear in a main film every now and then, but not at the expense of actual core characters.

They are wasting a lot of opportunities and I can't believe they bother killing characters off screen. What is the point? Just to increase the dramatic impact of one line?! They need to nail the characterisations as you say but I think also they need to give us the Civil War style team combo power displays. Most of the cinemagoing population who turns up to the likes of Avengers and other leading blockbusters would likely be interested in X-films then. It's a fair while since they were the dominant force in comics but you can't get to that spot at all unless you have something about you and I'm sure this property will fully deliver one day.

Some of you are forgetting they seem by all accounts they are introducing X-23 in wolverine to set up X-force.and too many expect a literal translation of old man logan.
it can't be too long after DOFP future ending with patrick stewart In it.

Only thing taken from Old man logan may be wolverine's looking older and one final
adventre for jackman's version of wolverine.the film is last chance to ever see members of original cast again.

the filmmakers can't win.some complain they aren't returning to present.while others
are saying bringing them back even for jackman's final wolverine film is ruining things.

I do feel Psylocke will be in the next one her conflict with the team wasn't resolved in the slightest that would be a missed oppurtunity I really do feel she will take the White Queens spot for the DPS

The feelings are probably going to be too mixed on the whole to achieve anything, even if it was possible for anything to be achieved. Just going to hope they can organically see the best way to do things. Agreed on the spoiler tag.

Has everyone heard about the #givecaptainamericaaboyfriend campaign that's going on? GLAAD aren't too happy with Disney/Marvel as their studio has a lack of LGBTQ representation in their movies. Of course they shouldn't do this for publicity but the X-Men comics were really at the front of gay heroes what with characters like Northstar, Karma and Rictor. They had the first gay marriage too. Bryan already used mutant issues in the movie as a way of representing the same issues that gay people face and it worked great. The iceman scene will always be a classic. Does anyone think Fox should represent these characters in their films?

I must be the only person on Earth that really enjoyed this film. Despite it being bigger in scope it felt relatively personal in a way.

Was it a bit meandering? A bit but I thought the performances all across the board were stellar and the structuring of the film felt very much like an episode from the 90's X-Men animated series.

They could take only certain elements from old man Logan but be its own thing all together, no way will they have wolverine kill the X-Men.

If they iintroduce X-23 then some of the film will have to be centerd on that and some elements could be on old man Logan.

Was it a bit meandering? A bit but I thought the performances all across the board were stellar and the structuring of the film felt very much like an episode from the 90's X-Men animated series.

It's interesting to me that a lot of the reactions seem to be, "Oh my god, it's just like the 90's TAS!" and enjoying the nostalgia and the cartoony nature of the film and the other half is like, "Oh my god, it's just like the 90's TAS" and kinda turned off by it turning into a cartoon basically. (Of course, there is a way to adapt the nature of the cartoons without it turning into some eye-rolling affair, but it's a bit interesting to see that there are reactions like that as well as people who are like, "That wasn't a great film, but at least it was like the 90s TAS!")

That's good to hear. I've been seeing plenty of love for it from fans!

How does it compare to DOFP to you? Is there an intensity or any type of suspense to the climax, like DOFP and X2? I feel like Singer is pretty good at that, and was hoping to see it in Apocalypse.
