Nothing at all.

It's kinda funny that they used Morrison and Quitely's uniform design, as that suit was basically a parody of the over-the-top branding and corporatization of superheroes. Too bad they only used a single X for the movie version.

branding and corporatization of superheroes.

I think thats kinda what it is, its an in universe branding costume. when the X-Men show up they will be recognized by those outfits like fire fighters or police officers.

Going by the idea that Xavier is sending them off on dangerous missions and are apparently national heroes.

But it's intentionally exaggerated. How many x's per costume do they need? I count nine in that image alone, and there's at least two more that aren't shown ( one at the top of each boot). This is decidedly more than creating brand awareness.

It's similar to how completely blind Singer was to how he fetishized the S shield in Returns. S buckle, S shoe treads, there were even miniature S shields imprinted on the S shield itself.

Don't know about Dark Phoenix at Sdcc, kinda doubt it though. New Mutants is a definite No.
Not sure what reddit leak you are referring to.

This leak
“X-Men are like Avengers status at the beginning of the film (which feels really unearned) – astronauts at risk of dying in space (literally the atmosphere not space) due to some cosmic waves.

“X-Men save them but Jean gets hit by waves. They return and she starts freaking out about her powers.

“The movie begins with young Jean getting in a car crash with her two parents.

At this point after the rescue we find out that her powers were responsible and she feels guilty for killing her mother. We find out that her dad is still alive though so she escapes the mansion all emotional to go find him.

“When Jean got hit by the cosmic rays she sent the spaceship flying into space and somehow it f***ing lands on an alien planet. The aliens look at the wreckage and go ‘f*** it this means war. Let's go get the Phoenix force’.That's literally their whole motivation.”
“Jean finds her dad and she gets pissed that Charles lied to her about her parents being dead. But Charles lied because her dad didn't want her anymore. When she finally realises all of this she almost kills her dad but the X–men come to save her. She is really edgy at this point.

“She kills Mystique by accident. Beast gets all mad because he loved her. Beast goes to find Magneto for help to defeat Jean. Charles takes the rest of the team to get to Jean before the aliens and Beast/Magneto can.”

“Movie is so boring I'm sorry if this isn't the best description but the movie ends with a CGI battle and it’s not very exciting because the aliens look boring and have generic levitation powers (they do shape shift into humans but they LOOK NOTHING LIKE SKRULLS AND THE WORD SKRULL IS NEVER SAID).

“There is an alien invasion and Jean flies into space and gives up all her powers to destroy the fleet. The end.

Yeah that's basically what I saw but with a few things I remember a little differently.
Such as?

I would like to know how we'll at one point go from these costumes:

To these:

Or are they just going to skip the top costumes entirely for the new ones?
Those costumes did NOT look good AT ALL. They looked like cheap cosplay ripoffs. It made the whole movie look even more sillier & goofy than it could have possibly gotten. Cyclops (with his Velcro looking strap) and Quicksilver were the worse. Storm didn't look any better. Nearly everybody looked tacky and bulky. Blind loyalty to nostalgic callbacks doesn't make them look any better. What works on paper doesn't always equate what will work on film and these did not work. I see why they were changed and I fully expected they would be.

#DarkPhoenix listing is now missing from 20th Century Fox website. #NewMutants is still up. What does this mean, if anything? New date? MCU-bound? Shelved? Nothing at all?

So now X-MenFilms.com @XMenFilms removed their tweet? hmm.

Correction: Oh that's why
X-MenFilms.com @XMenFilms: Sorry for that fluke last night. #DarkPhoenix had never been listed on the Fox site to begin with, correct? I got it mixed up with DP2 when the dates had changed. *Ignore* Nothing to see here.
It's so funny, now there are whole articles on the web and twitter about how the movie is supposedly canned, or pushed back even further, or absorbed by Disney......all because of that one earlier tweet.

According to MPC (Moving Picture Company - a visual effects and film production studio):
We're currently working on the VFX for Dark Phoenix.
They're doing VFX work for a lot of upcoming movies- Dumbo, The Lion King, Godzilla:King of Monsters, The Predator, New Mutants

I'm relieved. So it was fake news?

And now, just give us the goddamn trailer.

Hilarious how some are like "omg 90s costumes were always individualized!"

Post-X1 but pre-FC we would’ve been in love with these blue and yellow suits. ‘Just sayin’! They’re my favorite, so far, after the FC suits and the DoFP future suits.

Who actually said that?

No. You may like them, doesn't mean we would.

So going by your ranking, they're actually going down in quality. Shouldn't the costumes be getting better?

I don't think they'll ever find a costume design that's going to please everybody, i don't even think Disney will.

Dark Phoenix was never on the Fox website. So it wasn't removed. It will get added when they debut the first trailer.
The films aren't given a page until their first trailer drops. A whole lot of nothing going on.

A Fox spokesperson confirmed to CBR that Dark Phoenix was never showcased on the site in the first place. The reason is simple: The images on that page serve as portals to the website of each movie, typically launched with the debut of the first trailer. And, while footage from Dark Phoenix was reportedly screened last month at CineEurope 2018, no trailer has been released.
