Well friend obviously.

Kinberg often talks about your relationship break up so i can understand why you might be bitter but at some point you have to move on.

Maybe she really does feel he is the best director she has worked with though?

I suppose really you should question whether you are face palming for the right reason and whether the same thing would bother you the same if it wasn't Simon Kinberg.

It's quite normal Turner said so.
First of all 'cause at promotion level, every actors spend good words about him/her and her/his teamates works.
And then 'cause Turner hasn't worked with great directors yet. So said that Kinberg was among the best, means nothing.

If Fassbender would say that, then will be a total different thing.

Well sophie has worked with a fair amount of directors, yes they ain't Steven Spielberg level but i am assuming she is speaking highly of Kinberg as a director in more of a professional sort of way, even if the final product will be reviewed in a few months time.

Like Lawrence and Munn have both said things feel more organised on set and whatever, everyone steps up just a little bit more ect ect.

Nothing is to say Simon is gonna be an amazing director but doesn't mean anyone should be acting offended every time someone says something positive about him as a director

Turner worked almost exclusively with tv directors. it's a role with differences from Movie director. Difference in time, means and above all, style: in tv a director must have the style of the showrunner (in tv and in the MarvelStudios, where Feige works like a tv series)

That is true.

Yeah i am kinda surprised we have got as much as we have had this early.

Next year is definitely gonna be an interesting year for X-Men related material.

Oh yeah. It's a make or break year with all of those dropping back to back.

Gonna be a great year for people who are big into X-Men.

I don't get the point of implying you're the one obsessed with Kinberg when he is literally here making the same hate-post 10 times daily.

Like... where is the cognitive dissonance?

and Wolverine and the X-Men only lasted 1 season lol. (though it was a fairly enjoyable season)

But I wouldn't treat Jean like I would say Spiderman where you can skip his origin by now. Jean hasnt had the same kind of exposure where I think the audience will automatically feel connected to her and her becoming The Phoenix. It's been 10 years between the audience really seeing Jean Grey in the OG trilogy and being reintroduced to a brand new version of the character.

To me, this is one of those storylines that you build up to. It's very big for everyone and to get the right emotional impact, its probably best served as a 3rd or 4th film type scenario. And thats 3 or 4 films with the character actually being there and getting decent storyline.

You aren't getting that with Kinberg as the "brain" of the franchise.
Fandango polls... the same site that said people paid for DOFP to see Lawrence, and yet somehow 200 million of those people didn't pay to see her again in Apocalypse?:whatever:

She is such a huge draw just like Fassbender.

It is not even a honorable mention in Watchmojo's anticipated 2018 films.

Another year in which X-Men big fans complain about another X-Men film. Can't wait!

with Disney buying up Fox franchises like Xmen, does that mean Dark Phoenix will indeed be the last of the "Singer" X films?

edit: I misspoke and meant Singer X films, not Snyder. I've edited my post accordingly.

Hopefully yes!
When do you guys think the trailer will drop? I'm saying the week that Black Panther comes out.

The images from Ew, and Empire have me very excited. It looks quite different from any other film in the franchise. Here's hoping it's a great send off for this series.

Maybe March or April of 2018.

good.

though I actually misspoke in my post. I mean the "Singer" Xmen universe, not Snyder.......lol

it's time for a MCU X-Men reboot. I give Singer credit for kicking off the whole modern CBM, but the X-Men films have long since run their course, imo.

though I wonder how the Disney deal will affect future films like the Gambit film.....

are all those projects now dead and moot?

I am just fed up with Fox's version of the X-Men. And it looks like the New Mutants the film isn't even staying true to the premise of the New Mutants in the comics.

Get the Disney ****** deal done, Doj! Before Kinberg directs X-Men First Class Five!

I can't help but do a face palm when these actors do the promotional rounds for these movies and they find the need to speak in superlatives (ie. Turner's "Simon being the brains behind the X-men for years" and "Best director I've ever worked with", Chastain's past interview, Shipp's interview regarding her Storm in Apocalypse).

What's more, when they have to eat their own words.

Exactly! And this new Turner interview shows it. I mean, what "new genre of superhero movies"? The "dark, gritty drama" ones?
Jesus ...

Its why I don't read these interviews . I can't help but roll my eyes and say like , really???

Shipp has also said that they made X-Men Apocalypse for the fans after the negative reviews came out and her role in that film was $***.

I do not believe much in the opinion of an actor in his work
but I think there is some truth in these statements, since everyone is saying the same thing, especially in the organization during the recording of the film
It is very clear that bryan singer is not very wanted by the actors
another thing that caught my attention in these interviews was simon's saying that he would die if another director did this work, it seems that a lot of what he thought about the movies was modified by directors

Turner probably believes everything she says so its unfair for some people to kinda act like she is a naive fool.

Its one of those things where you kinda get the sense that certain people here don't wanna hear this stuff, they don't want the cast saying nice things about the movie they just made because its directed by Simon Kinberg and that can not be good at all costs as it would go against all hate and spite people spent months raging about.

Admittely its not hurting anyone but themselves but thats fandom for ya, there wouldn't be so many spiteful fandoms pointlessly against each other if pride wasn't this huge deal.

This film will be nowhere near the level of Logan :funny:

Well you will have to wait and see to find out i guess. :omg:

If you don't wanna like the movie then at least you can look forward to ranting on it ;)

wait. Singer isn't directing Dark Phoenix??

sorry, haven't been following it that much. but I thought this was Singer's film.

Mate, they aren't going to do the next Logan.

They ain't trying to do the next Logan, they are likely just taking a page from Logan.

But hey if you don't like this then don't read the quote i just posted in the New Mutant section a little while ago, you will go nuts!

Yeah, deal's already been finalized and approved during the Christmas break, so full speed ahead for the reboot.

It's like people here knows how merger approval works and the short amount of time it really takes.
