I dont remember, what was your connection? friend of Kinberg, cousin, assistant, wife or what?![]()

Maybe she really does feel he is the best director she has worked with though?
I suppose really you should question whether you are face palming for the right reason and whether the same thing would bother you the same if it wasn't Simon Kinberg.
It's quite normal Turner said so.
First of all 'cause at promotion level, every actors spend good words about him/her and her/his teamates works.
And then 'cause Turner hasn't worked with great directors yet. So said that Kinberg was among the best, means nothing.
If Fassbender would say that, then will be a total different thing.
Well sophie has worked with a fair amount of directors, yes they ain't Steven Spielberg level but i am assuming she is speaking highly of him as a director in more of a professional sort of way, even if the final product will be reviewed in a few months time.
Like Lawrence and Munn have both said things feel more organised on set and whatever, everyone steps up just a little bit ect ect.
Nothing is to say Simon is gonna be an amazing director but doesn't mean anyone should be acting offended every time someone says something positive about him as a director
Turner worked almost exclusively with tv directors. it's a role with differences from Movie director. Difference in time, means and above all, style: in tv a director must have the style of the showrunner (in tv and in the MarvelStudios, where Feige works like a tv series)
Yeah i am kinda surprised we have got as much as we have had this early.
Next year is definitely gonna be an interesting year for X-Men related material.

Well friend obviously.
Kinberg often talks about your relationship break up so i can understand why you might be bitter but at some point you have to move on.![]()
and Wolverine and the X-Men only lasted 1 season lol. (though it was a fairly enjoyable season)
But I wouldn't treat Jean like I would say Spiderman where you can skip his origin by now. Jean hasnt had the same kind of exposure where I think the audience will automatically feel connected to her and her becoming The Phoenix. It's been 10 years between the audience really seeing Jean Grey in the OG trilogy and being reintroduced to a brand new version of the character.
To me, this is one of those storylines that you build up to. It's very big for everyone and to get the right emotional impact, its probably best served as a 3rd or 4th film type scenario. And thats 3 or 4 films with the character actually being there and getting decent storyline.
Fandango polls... the same site that said people paid for DOFP to see Lawrence, and yet somehow 200 million of those people didn't pay to see her again in Apocalypse?![]()

Surprised it made this list
Gonna be a great year for people who are big into X-Men
with Disney buying up Fox franchises like Xmen, does that mean Dark Phoenix will indeed be the last of the "Singer" X films?
edit: I misspoke and meant Singer X films, not Snyder. I've edited my post accordingly.
When do you guys think the trailer will drop? I'm saying the week that Black Panther comes out.
The images from Ew, and Empire have me very excited. It looks quite different from any other film in the franchise. Here's hoping it's a great send off for this series.
good.
though I actually misspoke in my post. I mean the "Singer" Xmen universe, not Snyder.......lol
it's time for a MCU X-Men reboot. I give Singer credit for kicking off the whole modern CBM, but the X-Men films have long since run their course, imo.
though I wonder how the Disney deal will affect future films like the Gambit film.....
are all those projects now dead and moot?
I can't help but do a face palm when these actors do the promotional rounds for these movies and they find the need to speak in superlatives (ie. Turner's "Simon being the brains behind the X-men for years" and "Best director I've ever worked with", Chastain's past interview, Shipp's interview regarding her Storm in Apocalypse).
What's more, when they have to eat their own words.
Gonna be a great year for people who are big into X-Men.
Exactly! And this new Turner interview shows it. I mean, what "new genre of superhero movies"? The "dark, gritty drama" ones?
Jesus ...
but I think there is some truth in these statements, since everyone is saying the same thing, especially in the organization during the recording of the film
This film will be nowhere near the level of Logan

This film will be nowhere near the level of Logan![]()

wait. Singer isn't directing Dark Phoenix??
sorry, haven't been following it that much. but I thought this was Singer's film.
Nah, it's a Simon Kinberg one.
Mate, they aren't going to do the next Logan.
Unless Marvel Studios start hiring people for the X-Men reboot before 2019, then sure!
