I think it's quite likely that his involvement is the main reason it's anywhere near getting off the ground.

Look at the bright side, we get to see Deadpool 2 earlier and Dark Phoenix didn't get delayed. I just want that film out of the way asap.

I think the fox saw the end result of new mutants and did not like it.
and to avoid a failure like the last FF, will rewrite some things, 1 year is something very long, if the problem were date, could by for August, I doubt very much that the problem was this.

At this point, I shouldn't be surprised anymore. At first I was surprised but realizing that its Fox... It makes total sense.

It's safe to say that a sequel to New Mutants won't happen now

Here Simon Kinberg takes Sophie Turner to the 2016 Oscars Vanity Fair party before she really had broken out as at least a social media celebrity (jury is still out if she is a movie star, but she could now attend these herself):

But oh yes, please carry on with the cynical shade.

read better next time. I said Sophie, Alexandra and Tye. not just Sophie Turner. she's the lead character of the movie, of course the director will spend time with her. but my point was the other x-men, that I know he doesnt like some of them.
yeah, Ive said that.

No, you are changing what you said because you got caught being dead wrong. So now it's, "Well of course he would spend time with Sophie she's the lead!"

FYI when he took her to the Oscars in February 2016, X-Men: Apocalypse hadn't yet come out. She was not the lead of the next X-film, although he apparently was taking a shine to her, yes, as she became the lead of the X-film being released nearly 3 years after that. Which kind of defeats your insinuation that he doesn't like any of the new kids.

Oh speaking of which, maybe you should work on your scrolling while I work on my reading. ;)

Eh, I don't see why going out with his actors for a dinner is something to be really read into that much. The movie is still a ways out from being done. They could still be doing reshoots or pickups.

Not a loss. The MCU version of the New Mutants would probably feel more faithful to the comic books and not a low budgeted looking- horror experimentation.

once again, you just dont understand my point. I never said Kinberg and the whole cast didnt have dinnners all together, of course they had. Im talking intimate dinner with just the young members. We've never seen Kinberg just with Tye and Sophie spending a night, dinner, or something. or with Sophie and Alexandra. On other hand, Kinberg himself posted quite a few times photos of a dinner with just Fassbender, Mcavoy, Jen and Nich. Thats where I come from. And from what Ive been told, that Kinberg doesnt like Storm/Alexandra that much... well, yes, I have a f*** problem with Kinberg. And he doesnt even follow Alexandra or Lana. So to me, stuff like that tells me a lot. And his movies speak about all of this too. So dont come at me now trying to make me believe Kinberg suddenly is this sweetheart that loves these young X-Men and spend personal time with them and he write them great roles. Im not that blind and facts/acts speak louder than words.

:whatever:

SumT, are you insinuating something inappropriate is happening here?

Kinberg destroy with lies to Bryan Singer,Josh Trank,Verbinski,Liman,Xmen Original Cast and now Boone. He is the master,director,writer,producer...is a poison snake.Believe me

Why is there discussions about Kinberg and his personal life? And why is it an issue who he is choosing to have dinner with? The way a lot of people talk about Kinberg on here it’s like he’s killed someone. At this point he’s not doing the things that scum like Weinstein or Singer have done. He seems like a genuinely nice person and the people who work with him like him enough. None of his personal life or what he does should even be used in a negative way against him. Wanna talk about his writing, directing or producing go right ahead but I really think his relationships with actors or what he does outside of work should be left alone.

It's really quite strange.

Who gets such pleasure out of being so evil to a person they've never even met? No one has ever called him a bad person except the sad people who've made it there mission to smear his name at any cost.

Why? Infinity Wars is opening in April overseas. If I were FOX, I'd prefer to release my trailer with that movie instead of new mutants.

There's also CinemaCon (April 23-26)

They should attach it first to Fox's own movie, Love, Simon. Since the name of the director of Dark Phoenix is Simon and Fox loves Simon Kinberg. The girl portraying Storm is also in that Simon movie.

Theyv not given up on the social aspects, theyve just toned it down so it isnt the main story in every film which can get repetitive. X1, X2, First Class and DOFP all did a great job is displaying the human-mutant conflict/hatred. Not sure why you think Civil War will make this concept better than Fox has shown us given that the basic premise that people fear the Avengers is silly since theyve saved the world in the first film.

In Apocalypse, Logan and now Dark Phoneix the focus is on other adventures/challenges in Xmen and the human-mutant conflict is toned down but still present in the backgrounds just like the comics.

What is silly about actually showing the consequences of the destruction these massive superhero battles cause? I wish the X-Men movies these days would do more of this.

Instead they keep jumping a decade each movie and then having mutants cause massive destruction in the third act and yet somehow mutants are more accepted at the beginning of each movie.

How is the conflict "still present in the background" when there is no conflict, even when there should be as a logical consequence of mutants like Magneto and Apocalypse nearly destroying the world? How does this make any sense?

Apocalypse is such a mediocre film. I get eXhausted just thinking about it.
