What magazine is the excerpt from? Empire? I would imagine if they didn't know for sure who she is playing they would have put "allegedly" or "speculated" before saying she's playing Lilandra. Magazine teams are either on set or get interviews with the cast, directors, etc. just after shooting is wrapped before writing articles like those.

Shipp is a stunning woman, hopefully we get a better look at her down the line and with the X-Women quote Kinberg mentioned I'm hoping she is included in it as well as her sisterly bond with Jean.

You're late to the party.

Chastain was quite clear on Twitter that she was not playing Lilandra. Why would she put that tweet out at all if she was playing Lilandra?

EW says she is playing an "alien shapeshifter", and there was another report that said her character makes Xavier cry. Sounds more like Cassandra Nova to most of us on here. Cassandra inhabits the body of an alien shapeshifter called Stuff.

That magazine, Total Film, is just gathering info from various places online. THR did first say she was cast as Lilandra and they probably used that info.

Xavier's relationship with Lilandra couldn't really be explored in this movie. But a long-lost sister (Cassandra) could, especially as we know Genosha is in this and gets destroyed (also pointing towards Cassandra Nova).

It's not that much of an amazing revelation or technical skill to be able to zoom in on a photo, lol.

An enlarged image of Storm doesn't add anything. News about her having dialogue or development would add something.

I don't think anyone expected it to "add anything" It was meant to be a better look at the image and that it is. Nothing more, nothing less. Lol

Yeah EW has a full page on Chastain's "top secret" character so I doubt Kinberg is sabotaging his own movie's mystery by letting Total Film confirm she's playing Lilandra. They are very much speculating. Besides she doesn't sound or look like Lilandra except for the alien part, so it would be pretty much in name only character.

I wonder if they will explain her black roots on her hairline...saying the power boost Apocalypse gave her is fading. Or just because they prefer her hair not to be fully white. Just a thought

Well, there will be news about her soon. I remember being highly excited to know she'd be introduced in the streets of Cairo in Apocalypse, and I remember them talking about her "arc". But they destroyed the character.

Actually XMA is an exemple of how Kinberg and the creative team don't understand the X-Men characters at all. They think they'll please the fans by throwing a Dazzler easter egg, or a comic accurate looking Jubilee and Psylocke, or giving Storm a mohawk and putting her in the streets of Cairo. Who cares if those characters have no substance?

So yeah, you can expect news about Storm having a wonderful story arc and comic accurate costume or something. But will you buy it?

NOPE! Which is why I won't be watching DP unless the reviews are positive..
