They should ALL have been discussing the cure. It was supposed to be a major plotpoint, but it only seems to have affected Rogue. Hell, I was surprised Beast took it so well. Last time I checked he was supposed to be bothered by the fact that he looks like the Cookie Monster. In X3 he didn't seem to mind at all.

Everyone else obviously had really cool powers and loved being superheroes. If NightCrawler was in here he might have had some interesting insight, but of course he sat the movie out along with Cyclops.

^^ totally agree with you. In fact, the scene where Beast meets Leech and his blue fur goes away...he's sort of standing there in awe of what could possibly be...could have been further explored. It's true tho, the mutants with the more obvious physical deformities or mutations would prolly be more liekly to consider the cure if at all.

BTW how are your scenes coming along? I have been really busy lately but plan on posting at least by the end of this week!

Ms.Vix and I were debating how we could have Rogue develop and cope with her abilities. One idea was that maybe she could learn to refine her power, to suck less lifeforce if she needed to borrow someone's ability gently, or leech it out like a starving college student in order to bring down an opponent. Then we thought that if she could do that, maybe she could learn to hold it back for a little bit at a time.

There will be more, we promise!

When: Replacing the scene of young Jean

We find a Charles slightly younger, but with the wheelchair. He’s in a meeting with Mr. Worthington and Warren (Warren is about 13) and Jean, Scott and Storm (approximately Warren’s age) are next to him sitting on a comfortable sofa.
Mr. Worthington: Then you will help him?
Xavier: Of course. (smiles) It’s what this school is for.
Mr. Worthington: Are you sure (sighs) are you sure that you can cure Warren?
Xavier: I said that I could teach young Warren to control his talent, but I never said I would cure
Mr. Worthington: Talent? TALENT? Have you seen the THINGS my son has on his back? You call that talent, Mr. Xavier?
Xavier: Mr. Worthington, please. I teach my pupils to know how to control their power and make them… believe that his mutation is a gift. Please understand…
Suddenly, Xavier’s facial expression changes. He looks at Jean, who has a real EVIL face. She's staring directly Mr.Worthington.
Jean (w/ deep voice): You won’t cure your son.
Mr. Worthington: What?
Jean (deep voice): Neither him neither ANYBODY!
Furniture in the room starts to shake and the Worthingtons get alarmed. Mr. Worthington looks at Jean repulsively.
Xavier: Scott, hold her!
Jean (w/ deep voice): YOU WON’T DO SUCH THING! YOU WON’T CURE US, NO YOU WON’T! NEVER! (screams)
Xavier: Jean, Jean… calm down… (holds her hands and shuts his eyes) Calm down. I’m here, I’m here. Jean.
Cyclops: We’re here.
Jean looks breathlessly at Cyclops. Furniture stops shaking. Jean falls on Scott smiling, and sleeps.
(pause)
Mr. Worthington: Yes, I see how you help them. Warren, let’s go.
While they’re going, Warren stares at them. They (except Jean) stare him back.

When: Before Storm speaks with the Professor.

Emma enters class.
Emma: Good morning. Allow me to introduce myself: I’m Ms. Frost, your new teacher, and substitute of… Professor Jean Grey. My aim is to enjoy your classes with me as much as you do with the Professor.
(pause. Emma stares at them)
Emma: Samuel Guthrie, it’s not the first time I hear this, but I wish you’d stop thinking that “I’m hot”. (laughs) It isn’t a very mature way to consider a superior. If you don’t stop I’ll make you think that you’re the most beautiful rose of the flower bed.
Samuel: You wouldn’t do that.
Emma looks at him and smiles.
Emma: Let’s begin. You, Jubilation Lee, could you…?

When: Cyclops in Alkali lake.

Cyclops searches for Jean. After various moments of desperation, he finds her at the border of the lake and smiles.
Cyclops: Jean!
He runs towards her.
Cyclops: Jean…
He strokes her.
Cyclops lowers his head onto her chest. Tears start to fall from his eyes. He gets the mobile.
Cyclops (crying): I found her.
In Magneto’s lair, Callisto says to Erik that she detected a mutant more powerful than him, blah, blah, blah you know how it continues.
We come back to the school, and we are in the same scene as Xavier’s funeral, the only difference is that the tombstone says “Jean Grey” and Cyclops is in Storm’s place (but he doesn’t speak, he just looks at the tomb). Wolverine looks at the “bowl of fire”, suddenly the fire goes upwards and starts to grow larger.
The ground shakes and Jean springs from the tomb, “unconscious”. She rises, and the fire follows her, taking the shape of a bird. Both are suspended in the air. The fire keeps moving and surrounds Jean in spirals. As the fire is starting to be part of her (that’s to say, she’s on fire), her clothes begin to change. Astonished, the witnesses gaze steadily the scene.
Charles stares at Emma, who’s surprisingly calm, but serious.
Phoenix looks directly at the Professor, and screams with a very dark and deep voice:
Phoenix: YOU’VE TRAPPED ME FOR YEARS IN THIS PUNY LAYER OF FLESH! IN THIS LIE! That’s why… YOU’LL BE PUNISHED!
We see Cyclops, shaking his head, incredulous.
Suddenly, a card on flames falls on the first row (where Rogue, Bobby, Colossus, Beast and Moira are sitting). The card explodes at the same time the people sitting are either jumping on time or covering themselves.
Magneto’s mini-brotherhood (Maddrox, Gambit, Arclight, Psylocke, Callisto, Quill, Juggernaut and Pyro) attacks.
Magneto stares, in between the trees of the mansion, at Jean.
A fight begins:
Cyclops>Arclight
Beast>Juggernaut
Angel>Quill
Storm>Callisto
Wolverine>Maddrox
Emma Frost>Gambit
Iceman>Pyro
Colossus helps the pupils to go inside the school.
The fight is a bit long, that includes:
Quill goes to help his partners, but Angel clasps him with his hands and flies. Quill gets rid by activating his spikes. Angel gives a cry and seizes him. (Quill manages to stop being crashed on the ground by, again, activating his spikes). He starts throwing constantly spikes, but Angel manages to miss every single one and knocks down Quill with his wings.
The fight scene of Storm is similar to the one of the final battle, only that Storm is kinda loosing.
Maddrox multiplies and minuses his clones cuz Wolverine is constantly cutting into pieces all his copies, trying to find the “original”.
Emma manages to miss on time one of Gambit’s cards. Gambit throws another one but this time Emma is prepared, and uses her diamond form to protect herself.
Pyro is throwing fireballs to Iceman, who’s protecting Rogue with an ice shield. Psylocke suddenly appears, surprises Rogue and clasps her wrists. She falls unconscious and Rogue absorbs her powers.
Bobby seems to not hold on for longer Pyro’s attacks. Suddenly, we hear a “smack” sound and Pyro falls. Rogue “appears”. She goes towards Iceman while shaking her hand (since it hurt her a bit).
Iceman (serious): Do you really want the cure?
Even though the punch hurt him, Pyro gets up and he continues the battle with Iceman.
Beast tries to stop the unstoppable, but he starts to get tired. Suddenly, Colossus charges Juggernaut and they fight. Beast, who’s on the floor, looks at the ceiling.
We see what caught his attention: Phoenix and Charles are about 6 metres from the floor, fighting telepathically. Phoenix is staring at Charles fiercely, while he seems to be suffering.
Phoenix (whispers): Beg for me, Charles.
Phoenix is turning darker (like in the original scene of Charles’ death).
Xavier: Jean… please…
Xavier is awfully tense.
Xavier: Think of Scott…
Phoenix screams. Suddenly, Xavier falls onto the ground. Phoenix falls too, slowly. When she gets to the floor, her face demonstrates amazing tranquillity and, at the same time, she seems a bit disconcerted.
Magneto walks towards her.
Magneto: My dear child (he strokes her hair) Oh, my poor, dear child. You didn’t find a home here (she stares at him) but I’ll give you one, where no one will limit your (pause, looks at Charles’ corpse) your splendid talent. Come with me (whispers) No one will ever defy you, since I won’t ever tolerate it.
Magneto gives signs to Pyro of withdrawal.
They escape with Jean.
Cyclops: No!
Arclight makes him shut up. She goes away with Psylocke on her arms.
Rogue, Wolverine, Storm, Beast, Bobby and Cyclops, with their clothes ripped off and fatigued, surround Xavier’s body. Beast crouches and takes Xavier’s wrist. He doubts, looks at the others and shakes his head a bit.
Storm falls on her knees, hugs Charles and cries. All the rest look sad or begin to cry, even the students.
The scene changes where we see Charles’ Xavier tombstone. In front there’s Kitty and some friends leaving some flowers, crying.



When: After Rogue & Wolverine’s chat

Wolverine sighs. He hears that someone is fidgeting while he’s walking through the corridor.
He stops in front of the door where he listens the sounds, and we see that it’s Beast (we can only see his back) with a lab coat and the room he’s actually in is the school lab.

Beast: Good night, Logan.
Wolverine looks slightly impressed.
Beast: (ironic) You’re not the only one who has animal instincts. But I guess you already guessed that, no? (he turns) What are you doing here? Or do you always take nocturnal walks through the school?
Logan notices a flask with the symbol of Worthington Labs next to Beast.
Logan: What’s that?
Beast looks at him coldly.
Logan: WHAT IS THAT?
Beast: Nothing that may interest you
Logan: What’s that **** doing here?
Beast: I had to analyze it to see if the copy really works
Logan: Oh PLEASE! You too? Look, I’m just fed up like Storm of people moaning about this and that of the “mutant symptom”. So you are a disease? Like the rest?
Beast: (sighs) You have no idea… what I’ve been…(shakes his head) do you know what is like, people chasing you because your appearance is not of their taste? Logan, do you think I didn’t have difficulties on crossing a simple street? Or…or…touching a woman? I’m a human being, I have the right
Logan: (sarcastic laugh) NO. You aren’t. (pause) Have you thought of what all the kids of this school are passing through? You’ve noticed Rogue? Actually, she just left! Are you going to leave too? Are you going to show we’re chickens here? (pause) Really, I thought you were smart.
Beast: Sincerely, I don’t know what to think. Please, leave me alone. This does not concern you.
Logan walks towards the flask but Beast pushes him violently onto the wall.
Logan: You beast.
Beast: Logan, don’t force me to
Logan: I let Rogue go because SHE is the one who has to take the right decision. She has to learn. What’s up? Do I have to teach something to you too?
Beast: You can’t shut up, can’t you?
Logan: If you don’t throw that crap down the drainpipe, (SNIKT) I’ll make you.
(Roar)
Beast: Little man… (jumps towards Logan) ENOUGH!
Fight.
BANG. They break through the wall. Sounds of claws and roars are heard across the place. Rogue, who’s near the mansion, stops and listens. Children get out of their rooms to see what’s happening. Rogue enters and observes the scene, scared.
Beast and Wolverine seem to fight till death.
Suddenly, they stop, and look at each other. They get up and bow.
Emma (voice in OFF): Now, come to the living room before I make you dance a tango.
We're in a different room (the living room) with Cyclops, Beast, Wolverine, Emma and Storm.
Emma: Words can’t describe what just happened.
Storm: What went through your minds? Don’t you… don’t you think?
(pause)
Cyclops: How did you get the cure? You stole it?
Beast: No. I asked the creator, Dr. Kavita Rao.
Cyclops: So “the cure” really works? It’s not a trap?
Beast: On principal, yes. But I have to be 100% sure.
Logan (sarcastic): And how are you going to prove that?
Beast ignores him, but Logan looks at Beast.
Storm: Look, Hank, I remember your… bad experiences, but
Cyclops: We have to talk about this. Make sure “the cure” works, and I trust tomorrow you’ll have results. But don’t take decisions without speaking with us, okay? (pause) Good. Let’s go to sleep for once.
Beast is about to enter the lab.
Logan:You're a mutant. (sarcastic) Try to not-forget, okay?

Rogue notices that her hands are slowly changing into a blue colour, growing hair at the same time. Wolverine stares at her, worried. She falls onto her knees and tears begin to run over Rogue's cheeks, but she's trying to hold her crying. She closes her eyes, and slowly holds her breath.
Wolverine: Rogue...
Suddenly, we see that her blue colour is reversing to the flesh. She stares at her arms, completely in a flesh colour.
Bobby, who has been observing the scene, goes towards Rogue. He helps her to get up, and guides her to Rogue's room. They pass in front of Storm, who stares at them and then gives a serious look at Wolverine.
Storm: Logan. What happened?
She then notices Beast on the floor.
Storm: Oh m... Hank! (crouches near him) Logan... tell me, what happened?

Time to get this X3 Project rolling!

This is a "missing scene" used to add more story and depth to Scott's journey to Alkali Lake. Many thanks to Goddessreicho for her assistance!

PURPOSE OF THIS SCENE: to show that Scott's not just following voices in his head when driving 2500 miles from Westchester to Alkali Lake on a motorcycle. A little physical evidence can go a long way to help convince someone that they're not crazy.

Scene takes place after Scott has already left for Alkali Lake, and just after the X-men are reunited with Beast and with Warren discuss the future of the school and how to fill in the gap left behind when Jean died.

SCENE - Husky gas station, wooded area, rural Alberta. Morning. Scott Summers is taking a break from his trip to refuel his motorcycle. He hasn't shaved for several days, and his appearance and motorcycle befit someone who has been on the road for several days of hard riding. The station's owner comes out to say hello to the sole customer right now.

Gas station owner:​

Morning, son! How's it going?

Scott:​

Good morning

The station owner notices the New York license plates on Scott's motorcycle.

Owner:​

New York's a big drive from here! Where you headed?

Scott:​

To Alkali Lake

Owner:​

Alkali Lake? Why would you want to go there, eh?

Scott:​

To visit someone special...

Owner:​

Alkali Lake... Hmm... ever since that dam collapsed, strange
things have been happening there

Scott looks up at the owner, surprised and alert.

Scott:​

Strange things? what kinds of strange things?

Owner:​

People report seeing lights from under the waters after it gets
dark. Sometimes they sit there for hours, other times swimming all
over the lake. Some swear that from an airplane those lights
look like a giant bird, flapping its wings. One of the local Indian
tribes even tells stories of a ghostly woman walking on the waters.

Scott takes this information with wide-eyed amazement. Scott's hands and lips tremble. He absent-mindedly hangs up the fuel hose, taking several tries to secure it to the pump, and fumbles clumsily to secure the gas cap.

Scott:​

th...th..THANKS!

With that single word, he starts up his motorcycle and drives off towards Alkali Lake at high speed.

Owner:

Hey son, you crazy? These days most people run away
from there! And you're going towards it???
[mumbles to himself] Crazy New Yorkers...

Scott looks down at the speedometer. Hanging among the controls is Jean's phoenix pendant, radiant and brilliant in the morning sunshine...

^^^ I think that's really good, especially for filling in the missing links. Good job Ntcrawler, haven't been online for a while with vacation, but hopefully can get this rewrite project going again! I like these scenes with Scott; even if in the movie he is killed off in the beginning, there still could have been a lot more depth put into his grieving, and even some more altercations with Logan, who thinks "maybe it's time to move on" or watever. Good stuff.
