Well seriously now, how can you even think that's fine, unless you're not exposed to much great acting in the first place or you're just satisfied with TV Superhero level acting like from CW?

Just because you like it doesn't mean it's good acting.

It's not even an opinion, it's just bad acting. You can still like it, but facts are facts. When you sound like you're reading, im sorry, i can't get behind that.

Well, now you're just being an ass about it, aren't you?

:hehe:

Because it was good acting.

If you think that fine but don't try to tell me what I should think.

There's respecting others opinions, then there's somebody who has an opinion but doesn't know what they're talking about. You can say that you think Hitler was a good guy the whole time and they painted him as an evil person when you think he was great. That would be your opinion right? But it's just not the truth and i have the right to say that you're ridiculous for saying such things. Im in no way comparing (obviously, so please don't use that as a defense) but if somebody says Hayden Christensen's acting was marvelous and it really felt like Anakin Skywalker, i would laugh in their face and so would a million other people. Opinion or not, facts are facts, it's bad acting.

Im not being an ass about it (you can say i am, that's fine), im being realistic.

Oh boy, we're doing the 'ol Hitler analogies now. :hehe:

You think what you want, it's good acting as far as I'm concerned.

Another positive I'll say for Snyder is I am thankful that he shoots on film. It really does make the product feel more cinematic, which honestly does help sell me when one of your main two actors is seemingly giving a low-grade TV level performance. :oldrazz:

And I think it's pretty cool that it's 2016 and we've still yet to see a live action Batman shot digitally. Keeps the character steeped in tradition. Ayer shot Suicide Squad on 35mm too, right?

I think so. I couldn't find any confirmation of that but it seems like Ayer is old school so mostl likely he shot SS on film. Actually it would be nice if all DCEU films were shot on film.

Shauner is right

For a guy who's character is in the title of the movie, cavill hasn't impressed on the acting front very much. used to think it was because he wasn't given much material to work with in MOS, but he's just not very good. hopefully he improves. these movies depend on it.

No he has an opinion like you or I, it's not fact. So people should stop acting like it is. People need to learn some respect.

Same, that's what I figured. And yeah I would agree, would be one more nice way to be an alternative to Marvel.

BOOM, El Chipe has spoken.

point taken, but its not a matter of learning respect, he just doesn't like what he has seen so far.

now in terms of learning respect, yes there are a few people in the BvS boards who need to work on that whenever a negative opinion is shared about an aspect of this movie. not everything can be viewed with rose colored lenses

The guys at the BvS boards are having a meltdown over some people not enjoying Cavill's acting in the new clip. I really wish DC fans would stop playing the victim and just take other people's opinion as an opinion instead of a mortal offense.

I liked the clip BTW.

Yeah, it's getting a bit hot in there. :hehe:

Shauner, as an acting and film expert, how should Cavill been acting there? What should he have done differently that would make it work for you? I'm genuinely curious.

If only you had the guts to say that in the BvS forum.

Shauner, I can't imagine why you wouldn't want to post your thoughts in there. It always sounds like such a great civil place that's open to any and all opinions :o

A reminder to everyone.....in life, you will encounter people who do not share your opinion....how you handle this fact decides how you move on through life....if you want to continue moving on through life AND keep posting on the Hype....you will civilly say when you do not agree with someone else opinion. Putting them down for expressing an opinion you don't agree with is not being civil.

Not be a brick wall who is saying the lines like he's reading or trying his best to remember each line. That would be a good start. The way he delivers "the bat is dead. bury it", is some of the worst acting i've seen by an actor playing a lead superhero, in a very long time. Like Hayden Christensen, i don't blame everything on him though, even in this situation. Snyder is a big part of the blame here. Give us another take or direct him better. I've seen Cavill do much better than that, even if i don't care for his acting. There's no excuse for wooden line delivery when the dialogue isn't horrible.

IT wasn't wooden to me and that's my opinion. I'm nit gonna say someone else is wrong because I don't agree with them.

Yeah. Cavill reminded me of prequel trilogy Heyden Christensen at his least terrible. Let us hope against hope that this clip is his worst bit of performance in the film.

I think what doesn't work for me about it is it feels like Supes is trying to play on Batman's level. He's trying to intimidate him and it all comes off hollow and overly macho. I feel there's a way to read those lines in a way that radiates more compassion where it's like, "Hey I know you're trying to be a hero and I can relate, but you're out of line and I can't allow this to continue. I don't like that you're putting me in this position but here we are". Instead it just seems more one-note and I get the impression that Supes is just flat out disgusted with Batman.

I have no problem with Superman being stern or angry, but I think there's a way to pull that off a pre-fight confrontation like this where it still feels like Superman...maybe with a splash of cockiness in there. I don't know, maybe context will help. I just hope the contrast between Batman and Superman is actually felt in this movie and isn't just paid lip service.

Btw fact that he says "The Bat is dead"...is that line some more evidence for the coming out of retirement theory?

I don't think so, because right before that, he says, "next time they shine your light in the sky, don't go to it". If anything, wouldn't that indicate that he's been active, because he's responding to the Batsignal?

I think he's just telling him to stop being Batman.

Hopefully. Because I assume releasing these clips is intended to make people anticipate the movie, and you do that by showing some of the good stuff. If this is indicative of the 'good' stuff then this movie is going to be a chore to watch.
