This must mean you haven't seen Terminator Genysis. Consider yourself a lucky man...

I totally forgot he was in Jack Reacher, tbh. But now that you mention it, I have heard people say that's his best performance so far.

I didn't even know he was in that lol who does he play in that? Tbh I will watch that film just because I wanna see how bad it is haah

I can't remember him in Jack Reacher at all haha but I did enjoy that film

He plays Kyle Reese...which is half the problem right there. Completely miscast.

The movie actually isn't the worst thing ever, but it's just painfully mediocre and it's a very contrived, convoluted storyline that's trying and failing to breathe life into a dead franchise.

He barely speaks in Jack Reacher, if at all, which is why it was his best performance.

Wow that is a miscast.

Is it better than the previous two terminators? :oldrazz:

It's kind of a "pick your poison" situation to me. Terminator 3 is like the Batman Forever of the franchise to me, where it just started getting a little too much on the campy side, the vision from the previous two films is gone. On top of that it's basically a rehash of 2. Good ending though.

Then Salvation is just boring as hell, and I also think Bale is miscast as Connor. It just doesn't feel connected to the same future we see in the previous movies.

Genysis just feels like a soulless version of a Star Trek style reboot, but Arnie is fairly enjoyable in it. Might have to give it the edge over Salvation just for that, but it's a tossup between 3 and 5 for me.

He was unmemorable in Avatar.

ISWYTD. :hehe:

Tom Hardy was originally cast a Rick Flag but he had to leave because filming for the Revenant went over schedule.

Jai's look reminds me of Hardy. I can't see Hardy playing this version of Flag though. The trailers seem to show Flag in a way that just doesn't scream Hardy to me.

I agree actually. I'm happy for Joel Kinnaman that he got the role. I never saw the Robocop remake, but I was a big fan of The Killing which he was fantastic in. This should be a big break for him.

It almost seems too straight and simplistic of a role for Tom to play.

If Tom Hardy was able to stay on to play Flag, then I wonder what his voice would sound like.

Joel Kinnaman was great in Run All Night, it's one of my favorite Liam Neeson movies.

It would probably have been his normal, American accent voice.

I would liked to have seen Hardy tackle this. I can easily picture it.

I think it would be a wasted role. Like i said, it's a little straight and almost nice for him. I would prefer Hardy as Deathstroke.

This might be blasphemy, but I'd strangely have no problem if Hardy just reprised his role as Bane if they ever brought the character into the DC Films Universe. It could be a different design and everything, they could CG him to make him stupidly huge for all I care, but I think it'd be kind of cool to have Hardy as this unexplained piece of connective tissue. Especially with all that multiverse stuff Johns was hinting towards.

Love or hate the voice, it's pretty iconic and will forever be associated with Bane in pop culture.

Nah, but Robin John Blake on the other hand....

There's a hint of a multiverse? Holy ****, for film, that would be insane.

Too bad JGL couldn't reprise his role but this time as Dick Grayson/Nightwing in this new continuity. That would be great. He's perfect for older Robin regardless of the name or universe.

I think it was hinted at moreso for the TV DCU and film DCU with regard to the Flash, but to me once you say the word multiverse, it's all sort of on the table.

I mean heck, Paul Reubens reprised his role as Oswald's father in Gotham which is a totally different universe, so there's somewhat of a precedent for stuff like that.

Cool beans. What do you guys think of JGL playing Grayson?

If the concept art Flag is based on Hardy then it makes me realize that I want Tom Hardy to play Solid Snake in a Metal Gear Solid movie.

JGL would be a definitely be a good Grayson. I mean, he'll probably be too old for it by the time they get around to casting the role, though he is one of those actors that always looks youthful.

I have a feeling they'd go younger anyway though.

Been gone a while since school started, but I see everyone is discussing the DC special...OF COURSE! :D

Batman v. Superman: Dawn of Justice - Nothing new per se', I am 100% sold on this movie, have been from the very beginning and really don't need to see any more, but good to see nonetheless.

Wonder Woman - I was never a huge Wonder Woman fan, like her but don't love her. And then I read New 52 Wonder Woman, which I love but I get it may no be their Wonder Woman for some people. Now I love Wonder Woman, have a blanket and action figure of her. Been excited for her in the movies, like the design and everything and am not as scared as others into thinking she will be a no-talent hack. I have faith in Snyder, as I am a Snyder fan. He hasn't let me down yet (yes I actually enjoyed Sucker Punch). But the footage they showed us was quite lackluster. It was good to see Gal Gadot, Chris Pine & Director Patty Jenkins talk. I feel they all hit the nail on the head and know the content well. I didn't mind the scene of her putting on the glasses, that was cute. But overall the footage was very underwhelming but I'll take what I can get. But if I were a more general audience member seeing this I'd be like "Oh a Wonder Woman movie, OK." I did not notice that color tent everyone has mentioned, I may need to go back and check this out. But as The Shape pointed out, this movie is far from post where that will most likely be fixed.

Suicide Squad - LOVED IT! It really struck with me due to the use of Queen's Bohemian Rhapsody, love that song and band. I am not a rock-n-roll guy, people love their Pink Floyd, Led Zeppelin and what not - they do nothing for me, they have a song or songs I like but that's it. Queen? ****ing love them! So that helped, I felt it helped alot in the trailer, as David Ayer spoke about this before that the first trailer made it too dark and that it's not really his direction. I got a similar vibe to Guardians of the Galaxy but even better cause I know this song and the material.
Moving on I loved the simple but fun introduction of the characters. I don't know why but the "Croc, he eats people" I just found hilarious and love his design. Jai Courtney as Boomerang looks great. I found him punching that one guy in the yard to be hilarious as well, dunno why. I must say I am not quite fond of that design. I get it, you don't want to do the boomerang covered costume and I ain't asking for that. If I understood the direction the costume I may get behind it like, this is how Australians dress or something. Everything with Harley was spot on and perfect for me. I have been sold on her from the beginning and remain there. The voices part was great, stealing the purse at first I thought was stupid but Harley is that type to be like "oooh hey, that's cute, I want." so it made sense. I loved that quick clip of Katana's eyes. I keep forgetting she's in it and I like Katana.

But let's talk about Joker. At the very beginning I did not like Joker with the teeth and the tattoos. In time I grew more accustomed to it. The first teaser just did no justice with him walking in shirtless, because Joker being shirtless is just odd. But more was to come. In the same teaser and now the new trailer you notice that big leather, purple coat. And the grey sportscoat and red dress shirt underneath. I began to get this Miller/DKR vibe to it, which I love. Morrison put it best on The Joker that he has Batman's ability "to adapt his routine to suit the tastes of the day." Even on the podcast with Kevin Smith they talked about this in how he likes and agrees with the Miller Joker in seeing Joker as this over-the-top David Bowie like character who is larger than life and that Joker is always re-visioning himself. You get this as Joker's schemes are always different and has to out-do the last one.
Honestly, how many times can you keep doing the purple outfit? In all honesty, Ledger's outfit was not that brutally different. Now his make-up and hair was, with the stringy, unkept hair, scarred, Glasgow smile and bad make-up job. The only big difference in his costume is that it's a bit unkept, in some shots you know its dirty and has spots of make-up on it.
This Joker is a rock-star and you could argue out of the entire Batman rogues' gallery, if there had to be a rock star among them, it is The Joker. In addition, I liked the trailer showed multiple outfits. Harley Quinn is doing this in the comics. Why not? Why not have a change of clothes, especially for these two. I'm reminded of Jack Nicholson - "I make art until someone dies." Leto is doing that here through the wardrobe a bit. Going back to the David Bowie, rock star angle, The Joker would do that. A character this out there, you would expect that and there's a bit of a excitement to see what he'll be wearing next. Do these stars like Lady Gaga and so forth wear the same thing for each new performance? No. Design to the side, I am stoked for Leto's performance after seeing this. Glad to see we're probably getting the New 52 Harley origin.

At the same time, I totally get it and understand the gripes regarding his design. The only one I do not like is the "Damaged tattoo" on his forehead. One, it feels a bit on the nose. Two, I don't feel The Joker would ever view himself as damaged. I recall Hamill saying his approach to The Joker is that he sees himself as a genius, it is not his fault you don't get him. Then with Ledger was that great line "I'm not a monster, I'm just ahead of the curve."

One concern is Deadshot. I feel Will Smith will just be playing Will Smith. When I hope not, he can bring some of that charm, kinda like Michael Rosenbaum's Kevin Spacey impersonation he did to voice Deadshot. Smith can naturally bring something like that I think. But at the end of the day, I LOVE this trailer and am really looking forward to this film!
