8.20 - Beast - Discussion Thread (Spoilers)

This is a good episode, and I'm with everyone else on this Chloe has out lived her time on Smallville, she needs to go.

I'm starting to think she will die this season, cause really I can't see Oliver keeping her on as Watchtower after what she has done.

Well that wouldn't be very dramatic, they need to fight first:)

Clark & Davis do a couple of punches & super throws & then Clark & Davis make like Ice Swords or something & then Davis gets the better side of Clark & Davis is about to stab Clark but Chloe steps in & then Chloe gets chopped up & dies by Davis's hand & then Clark & Davis dances. Ah that is the dream

Chloe has lost her bleeping mind, to the point where it enraged me and I have no use for her anymore. If she dies, I won't be mourning her.

I agree. The fact that she's on Davis' side and not her friends really upsets me.

This was a decent episode.

Yes tonight episode i thought was another pretty good episode. The doomsday arc has been a great addition to this season along with the red blue blur arc too. I think what they have been doing has been pretty good. Yes some say its ripping off hulk/betty deal from marvel comics. But dc's doomsday is a pretty one dimension character.

So with smallville's take they took the monster beast and injected some nice dynamics to him with the whole human guise deal. At first i wasnt really down with it. But now at the end of the season things have been going pretty great with this storyline. I cant wait to see what happens with davis/doomsday in the finale in two weeks.

The opening dream scene with chloe was pretty weird. at first i thought it was real life scequence but then when we saw a dead and torn up clark i was like WTF! That was an intense scene. It was also pretty good to see emil hamilton again, and learn a little more with how he is working with ollie and the jl. I do hope we get to see more of him next season. Also it was cool that chloe was trying to get his help to maybe cure davis from the doomsday beast.

As for chloe herself she is in the right mindset to try to save clark and the world by losing her life and protecting/being with davis. But she is going at it all wrong, clark and ollie are right that davis needs to be taken care of. As for ollie he wants clark to kill him but clark is still trying to do other means of not killing which is against his code.

As for the phantom zone solution i thought that was a nice ideal and i know i read online others were thinking this is what might happen with davis/doomsday in the finale. The short fight in the fos was pretty nice preview which i hope we get a nice kick butt showdown in the finale.

As for chloe running off with davis in the end to protect clark is probably not going to end well with her. Clark doesnt want her to do that and ollie thinks it is wrong too. Also speaking of jimmy his addiction arc is getting interesting too and lead him to get into trouble again with davis. The end where ollie hires him to work for him was cool and nice to see. I cant wait to see what he is going to do with ollie. But i do hope next season they get him back to the planet with clark and lois.

As for next week looks interesting and i cant wait to see how the injustice gang episode plays out. They look pretty cool from the members we were able to see in the finale. Also i am a little pissed they are all wearing black i was hoping for parasite/livewire/and the 4th member to have a little bit more color in them. Also ollie with the kryptonite ring of lex makes us wonder what is going down there. Then what is up with tess and the purple orb. Cant wait to see what happens.

Oh, ick. I hated that ^.

Didn't exactly like this episode either though.

I am by no means a Chloe supporter and find her actions irreprehensible, but does anyone think that it could be possible that a small piece of Brainiac is still inside her? It would explain why Davis is "controlled" by her instead of his "feelings". And might have her drawn to him as well.

This was a really good episode and I can't wait for next week.

it's possible but I doubt it. I think all of Brainiac is out of her ever since Legion. Otherwise, the future would be pretty messed up if chloe was still brainiac.

also, what job did oliver offer to jimmy? was it a photographer job or one that involves the justice league. I didn't quite get it.

It seemed to me that the job was kinda like a reporter. Oliver said that Jimmy has good instincts. This way Jimmy can report things that he thinks are going on. That's what it seemed like to me. It could be something completely different.

In Legion, Brainiac said he was running a program to control Doomsday. I still believe that the reason Davis doesn't doom out in Chloe's presence is because Doomsday still believes Chloe is Brainiac, it's master.

Oh, I haven't seen the whole episode yet, just parts of it, but the parts i say were pretty awesome like Clark and Davis in the FOS.

Yea would be interesting if their is a small piece of brainiac still residing in chloe. Would work with the idea its controlling davis/doomsday. As for the job for jimmy i doubt it would be anything reguarding the jl i doubt he would want to reveal he is green arrow and expose clark/other jlers to jimmy. I bet the job offer was to be a reporter/public relations type of job.

As for the torn clark torso that was pretty gruesome.

I was reading some stuff over at k-site and there are people who still believe chloe is good and did the right thing by siding with davis. thinking that siding with davis will save clark in the long run. lol

OK episode, not great by any means. At least Chloe's actions were somewhat redeemed at the end and put her back into character. Although I'm not sure why she thinks Clark would have this huge guilt trip about sending Davis to the Phantom Zone? He's already sent Zod and every other villain there, and condemned Bizarro to living in constant sunlight which puts him in agony. Although maybe they're different because they were all Phantoms already?

BTW It's sad how little response these episode threads are getting lately. Is everyone else as turned off with this forum as me?

Really was a dark episode, I mean the only scene that was uplifting was Oliver offered a job to help Jimmy out. Other than that every scene each characters was at each others throat.

The dude that was trying to help Chloe out, was that Dr. Hamilton?

yes it was emil hamilton who we first saw in bulletproof who saved jonn.

It was DISGUSTING :-P enough when I thought (shadows + blood) I was looking at some huge, weird bloated pig that Davis had slaughtered to keep from having to kill a person (hey, this is Smallville - there are pigs). DH said it was "half a Clark". I had to rewind and watch it a couple of times to get that. Then... there aren't sufficient words for how vile and unnecessary that was to see.

That one little bit pushes this ep. into NC-17 territory in my book - just really gross and mentally disturbing, particularly because it's the hero of the show who'd gotten torn apart like that and not some random flower/candle vendor as we were originally led to believe when they stopped making out.

If Chloe went back in time & blew up krypton & killed baby Clark & the whole El family k-site would say Chloe rocks

Not a fan of the episode personally. Just seemed like a typical Lana storyline full of melodrama and reducing Clark to a secondary character. At least Clark looked good for the most part in the episode, so that puts it higher then a Lana episode

It's funny because for some reason I kept being reminded of the way last season ended when Clark was going crazy trying to find Lana and was so preoccupied with her that he was forgetting about everything else that was going on around him. There were even some points during this episode where I was asking myself "When did Chloe become the new Lana?"

At least she's the one dying in the finale. Can't see it happening otherwise. Her time has passed!

I have never liked the character, she should have died seasons ago.
