lol The laugh he does as he turns back around. Dirty old bastard. :funny:

God, Jack Nicholson is great.

If Ben Affleck was nominated for Best Director by the Academy Awards, do you think he would've won it instead of Ang Lee? Keep in mind that he has won pretty much all other Best Director awards, including Golden Globe and DGA.

No. I think Argo would have lost Best Picture too. The campaign was based around the sympathy vote.

I just read on another site that apparently Leo was hitting on Jennifer at the Vanity Fair party. :funny:

Leo be on his ****, man.

LOL! Ol' Jack hasn't lost a step.

I think you're giving Argo too little credit, and put too much stock on the sympathy vote. I don't doubt that Argo would've won all those awards even if Affleck was nominated as well; Argo isn't Crash who just won BP out of nowhere.

Joaquin should've played Daniel Plainview

what was up with Joaquin?

Joaquin is really yarning for that short-lived rap career he had a few years ago. Next time, he should just skip the whole ceremony instead of making a fool of himself in front of millions.

The people who blindly hate the President are going to hate the cameo and some people who like the President are going to hate the cameo because it was something different. I voted for the Pres and I'm just indifferent to the cameo mostly. It was okay I guess, not a big deal!

I didn't like it because of what I said earlier... politics have no business being in entertainment award shows... especially considering that awful Michael Moore rant after Bowling for Columbine won Best Documentary in 2002. (Even if most of last year's Best Picture nominees had political themes, I go to the movies to enjoy the story and characters and not because I share similar beliefs.) I have nothing against Ms. Obama herself... and I would've been just as irritated if Bush/Romney/Clinton had presented instead.

And I wouldn't have minded so much if she was at the Dolby Theatre in person to present the award. The fact that the Academy went out of their way to have a remote feed for her to present the Best Picture is just... reminding people of the infamous Hollywood-Washington connection. It rubs me the wrong way.

But there is a reason Best Picture winner usually has at least a Best Director nomination historically.

Might want to spoiler that GIF. Not everyone's seen Django yet.

Good call.

Although the academy appears not to care, including several points from the ending in their nominee presentations!

They did so with flight as well.

The Academy doesn't care about a lot of things anymore. Hence that 'Real Housewives' chick being allowed anywhere near the premises.

Gladiator won Best Picture, but not Best Director. Not sure how much baring it has, but sometimes a film can win Best Picture without Best Director.
