The Dark Knight Rises A New Director After Nolan?

My god because of Jack's naturally sinister looking devilish facial features he looks even creepier than Heath did.

Fincher or Aronofsky would be my preferred choices.

Refn, Fincher, Aronofsky and Duncan Jones will probably all be under consideration to direct the next Bat film(s).

Watch out for Aronofsky to eventually be the top choice though. WB's had him tapped before they went with Nolan. Aronofsky didn't get the gig because his and Frank Millers story/script was waaaay to radical for an origin story.

Especially now, since Darren left The Wolverine project, that would open the door for him to direct after Nolan IMO.

I don't know. Unnamed "associates" doesn't seem like that reliable a source.

If true, Robinov can suck it. :o

I don't know. It was originally reported by the LA Times, which is why I lend it credibility.

Aronofsky would probably feel hesitant after WB rejected his script for Year One, sooooooo I don't think he'll be a contender.

I got my money on Zwick, Mann, Cuaron or maybe even Refn.

I could also go with his Mexican counter-parts in Del Toro (if WB wishes to go back to the fantastical elements) or Inarritu.

Or as Hollywood refers to them: Los Three Amigos.

I'm not a big fan of Del Toro myself. With his visual flare and dedication to strong fantasy elements, I would think I'd love him, but...there always seems to be something missing from his movies that keep them from being truly great movies. IMO.

I can agree with that. Well, with the two Hellboy films and Blade 2 anyway, although i did enjoy them and i think the first Hellboy and Blade 2 are great. Thought Pan's Labyrinth was amazing myself.

Has anyone seen that spanish Arkham Asylum fan video on youtube? It reminds me of Del Toro. I'd like to see that type of approach to Batman, if a little toned down.

I think Cuaron would be the better choice. He's sorta in between Nolan and Del Toro, if you know what i mean? You'd get the best of both worlds.

I liked Hellboy 2 the most of all his work.

I hated Pans Labyrinth. The visual style incredible and the story's premise showed promise but the script just made the movie downright painful to watch and, I feel, didn't take the core premise nearly as far as it should have.

If Cuaron directed a Batman film, I don't know what I would do with myself. I'd just be so ****ing happy.

Cuaron has a good relationship with WB. He's worked with them in the past and quite recently with Gravity. I think it's possible.

Refn desperately wants Wonder Woman, however, the odds of WB signing him for Batman first are better, especially if Ryan Gosling says yes to the Mantle.

WB sometime likes to hire some directors who worked on Marvel movies, so it is possible that they could ask Louis Leterrier, Joe Johnston, Jon Favreau.

Who have they hired that fits the criteria outside of Singer?

Watch them hire the hack that directed Battle: Los Angeles and Wrath of the Titans :o.

I kinda liked the direction in Battle: LA.

It was the script that sucked ass.

I sincerely hope WB hires Cuaron or Refn or Aronofsky. If not those three, then at least, Blomkamp or Jones.

...Or perhaps Nolan is grooming Snyder for that responsibility, or his own brother [Jonathan]. That wouldn't shock me at all.

I have absolutely zero desire to see a Snyder Batman film.

Refn
Cuaron
Aronofsky

And if Robinov will stop acting like an infant, Fincher

I don't know. It was originally reported by the LA Times, which is why I lend it credibility.
The LA Times has had their share of credibility problems in the past.

I'm not saying I don't believe it. But at the same time, I wouldn't curse Robinov for it until we actually see Fincher not get hired by WB for a while.

Nolan's Batman movies have been awesome. But I do feel it's time for a reboot after part 3. This time around make the characters look as much as possible like their comic book counterparts. Costume design has come a long way in rescent years. These looks haven't been tried since the corny television series. It's time for the modern movie world to take a crack at it. And it will help distance these movies from the current franchise.

Combine Nolan's realism with the cooky loony atmosphere of the comic book.

And this time do Batman's voice right! If you have to just do a voice over. Whenver Bruce is being Batman, have the guy from the cartoon do the voice.

Alfonso Cuaron
Guillermo Del Toro
J.J. Abrams
Brad Bird
Duncan Jones
