Great episode. Amy Acker stole the show in the few scenes she was in. Chloe really stepped up her game this episode. I like Coulson when he has some fire in his belly. Really wish people would have stuck with this show since it is so amazing right now. I'm sure it will get a nice boost after the obligatory Netflix run. Season 2 is going to be great with the trajectory they are on right now

So Trip is the grandson of a Howling Commando. Gabe Jones is the obvious way to go with that one. "Evil Ward" is awesome, pity about Patton Oswalt though.

When Koenig has her in the lie detecting chair, and asks her her name, she says Skye, but then adds "Well, the name they gave me at the orphanage was Mary Sue Poots.."

Since there has been some complaining by fans that the writers are setting up Skye to be a Mary Sue character, I don't think it's a coincidence that the writers gave her this name.

So Trip is the grandson of a Howling Commando. Gabe Jones is the obvious way to go with that one. "Evil Ward" is awesome, pity about Patton Oswalt though.

Patton will just return to narrating the Goldbergs, playing the fire chief in Brooklyn Nine-Nine and (hopefully) another Star Wars Filibuster in Pawnee, Indiana.

So what agency did Mama May work for? She had to have known Maria Hill from there, but the dialogue steered her away from being an actual SHIELD retiree. Also, the show closed with a closeup of her license plate, which was Pennsylvania. Had two letters and five digits, but I can't read them or tell if there's any significance to them; however, the fact that they zoomed in on it seems to indicate that it might be important.

A really good episode tonight. The story was good, and the tension was good.

I do have to say though (as an Oregonian) I was bummed that it wasn't shot in Portland. They even go so far as to show a city which is clearly NOT Portland (via the skyline layout and the bridge approach which was wrong) but at least The Cellist was wearing a sweatshirt that had PDX on it.

Anyhoo...

The teaser for next week was pretty epic. Curious to see what Hill is doing, given that she is shown turning in the team to Talbot.

Perhaps the season finale will be Congressional hearings? LOL Wouldn't be the first time a show wrapped a season that way...

The team sure is scattered next week. Col. Talbot and Maria Hill corner Coulson, Triplett and FitzSimmons at Providence in northern Canada; Skye and Ward are being hunted by the LAPD; May has gone off to (presumably) DC or NYC to track down Maria Hill --- who was shown to be in Canada, in the place May just left. Didn't see May at all in the promo for next week's episode, though.

I'm trying to jump on board, as it appears he's going to be sticking around. The Howling Commandos connection the writers gave him at least makes it seem that way. But other than that connection, there's not much to him. His role is just as a foil to the other characters (more like a place holder than a interesting character). So far, I feel like he's just a poor man's "Good Ward" (he fills the role, but he isn't as good as Ward at his job). If he's going to stay, I hope we get some more development that fleshes him out soon.

That said, "Bad Ward" is great and I hope the character stays as a regular. This episode gave same humanity to the killing machine. I love it when a show makes me feel for a bad guy.
