they could subvert expectations and make him Dum Dum's grandson.
I'm glad I'm not the only one who thinks the Whedons might try to do some tricky **** like that
everyone would hate Triplett if he were as competent as Ward.
He's not a great of a specialist but I think he makes it up by being book smart too

So nobody thinks that Falsworth or Dernier may have been with a black woman?

Cringeworthy banalities mixed with actual suspense. One step forward, two steps back.

I vote "Liked it".

A pretty good episode, but I felt it was a step down from prior weeks. It combined two of the aspects of the show I originally thought I would enjoy but have been the most annoying - the "monster of the week" supervillain and constant MCU name dropping. But evil Ward, the late Koenig and scared Skye were all terrific.

Yeah.To be frank,When I see him,I can't help but feel the "real world" story about his involvement:"Yeah,he's the 'Ward' that we really should've started the show with-diversity and all-but we had to make the traitor white as to not rile up folks easily offended. But hey, you've got your diversity now."

seems like you are the only one that mentioned race...

Eh, just add Deathlok to the team in a redemption story if they plan on killing off Triplett.

Every time patton asked "what's in the box?" I kept sayin to myself Gwenyth Paltrow's head...

So... Ward looked ready to put a bullet in May before he realized she was leaving. Did he let her go because deep down he's hesitant about killing these people, or was it simply safer to let her walk and not risk a fight?

Also I like how casually May just walked out of the Canadian wilderness when just last week they made a point to talk about how rough the 7 miles to the coordinates were.

Considering he was dispersed and had weird light based power, yeah it's possible he's not dead.

Agreed. I'd say he's in the same general category as Tobias Ford: provisionally dead, but able to be brought back by phlebotinum if they ever feel the desire.

No mention of May being married? I wonder what happened to her husband.... Was it Phil?
Well, Ming-Na doesn't know who it was, but she hopes it's someone particular :oldrazz:

No, but I'm hoping it's Thor. Heehee RT@Got_Rices: Who is Agent May’s ex-husband, I wanna know soo badly. @MingNa do you know who is he?!!!”
:funny:

I voted loved it. Unlike some others, I enjoy the villain of the week stuff and I like the personal life aspects of the show. I don't feel it is too much of either. I was very happy to see that they did not make the Skye - Ward thing sappy. I really liked how they played that out and I thought Chloe did an awesome acting job. Loved it when she realized he was Hydra.

I think somehow Skye left the team some type of message - at least I hope she did. Also, does anyone have any guesses on the location she would pick regarding the drive unlock that Ward so desperately wants/needs her to unlock?

Really liked how dark this episode got, good episode.

Lol that's great,
I want a quote from Hemsworth on Ming-Na's geek-crush
must be very flattering at the least, he woulda been in like grade school when she was playing Chun Li, haha

And was I the only one who had a pit in my stomach every time Patton Oswalt and Ward were in the same room together??
I just knew...

Me and my sister kept yelling at the tv when they were together, just wanting him to pay attention to how Ward was behaving :funny:

Sole reason? No
Helpful plus for a pretty dang white show? yeah totally

Back to freak of the week is lame, but evil Ward is fun to watch.

I just don't get people breaking down a cast for race.I mean,I don't watch Sleepy Hollow and think "Dang, this has an 80% black regular cast. There needs to be more white faces."I enjoy it for what it is.So that's why I don't get the people who have moaned about this show, and the apparent "fix" made to accommodate them.Enjoy the show for what it is,and not to fill quotas.

I think he rationalized it as not worth the trouble to fight and kill her and stash her body to risk Skye finding (remember he can't kill Skye because Hydra needs her), but he also seem geniunely relieved he didn't have to kill her.

Which kind of fits with him saying he does feel he owes the team something, just not as much as he owed Garrett.

Koenig though he barely knew and was kind of a jerk to him, so he killed him without remorse.

The show isn't an all white cast, though. Hasn't been even from the start. Seems like the a misplaced critique to me.

It was a good episode. I wasn't sure they'd do that to Koneig. And I liked him alot, but it had to be done. Wouldn't make sense for Ward to leave him alive.

It's the framed picture in the bathroom when she was hiding from Ward, that's probably the location. I pause that particular picture scene (on my Hulu Plus and uploaded it) but got no clue what it is:

Yeah, they're setting him up to be more then just another one-dimentional character, as each of the others started out as. Although, as mentioned, his acting hasn't really been the greatest(or hasn't had the chance to show it), so it might seem a little forced that there's more to him with acting just as bland as the Good Ward character.

I cant believe I'm saying this but i thought Skye was really good in this episode. Her breakdown over the Ward revelation was a good bit of acting. Good stuff.

Given the dearth of top notch actors, it is a bit of a shame that Patton Oswald wont be recurring. But I'm not complaining. Acting and plotting wise this was the best ep yet imo. And my personal fave.

Oh and it was nice to see Amy Acker.
