Was just on CBM's site and there's a huge spoiler from filming after getting out so be careful what you read online!

If you don't want to spoil anything I'd avoid that site. Their policy on spoilers is... Whatever the person writing the article wants to spoil in the headline.

Yea I'm actually a frequent visitor because it's quite unique in terms of user-based submissions, but lately I've been avoiding it because of the sheer amount of TDKR spoilers. I've had so much spoiled from that movie in article titles and thumbnails alone.

Well...the bad writing and "making crap up!" factors help too.

That's already been posted (Check the previous page - it's in spoiler tags)...and it didn't originate from that crappy site.

No problem.

Thing is we've seen that synopsis months ago. So...it ain't new.

From what I can find, this was the previous version.

Warner Bros. Pictures and Legendary Pictures announced today that Henry Cavill has won the coveted role of Superman, the iconic superhero.

The film will be directed by Zack Snyder, who stated, “In the pantheon of superheroes, Superman is the most recognized and revered character of all time, and I am honored to be a part of his return to the big screen. I also join Warner Bros., Legendary and the producers in saying how excited we are about the casting of Henry. He is the perfect choice to don the cape and S shield.”
So, this version has quite a bit new "official" plot to it.

Edit: Nevermind. Found another version from April that is basically same as this "new" one. I guess I was just remembering that original Snyder quote.

In the pantheon of superheroes, Superman is the most recognized and revered character of all time. Clark Kent/Kal-El (Henry Cavill) is a young twenty-something journalist who feels alienated by powers beyond anyone’s imagination. Transported to Earth years ago from Krypton, an advanced alien planet, Clark struggles with the ultimate question – Why am I here? Shaped by the values of his adoptive parents Martha (Diane Lane) and Jonathan Kent (Kevin Costner), Clark soon discovers that having super abilities means making very difficult decisions. But when the world needs stability the most, it comes under attack. Will his abilities be used to maintain peace or ultimately used to divide and conquer? Clark must become the hero known as "Superman," not only to shine as the world’s last beacon of hope but to protect the ones he loves.

Dated back in April.

From a casting call headline on supermanhomepage.com
"In the pantheon of superheroes, Superman is the most recognized and revered character of all time. Clark Kent/Kal-El (Cavill) is a young twentysomething journalist who feels alienated by powers beyond anyone's imagination. I really like this sinopse

I dont follow the hate on following the 1978 film. Nobody cried about similarities between Returns and 1978 for plot crap; it how it kept the dated, hookey style. A shot for shot, line for line remake of Superman 2 would be awesome. And, obviously, superman in 1978 didnt have aliens.

There are too many opinions for there to never be contradictions. People yarn for something fresh but trashed Abrams awesome script.

I never expected anything completely fresh. It's an origin story, there would've always been certain story elements shared between different versions.

Because Abrams script sucked. I bet MOS is way more faithful to the comics.

That synopsis and all those plot details sound great. Didn't see them before.

However, since they are claiming General Lane is a key figure, and they make no mention of Zod, I have to doubt how reliable they are.

Would have been an ace way to introduce Metallo tho :)
