Although, seems to have influenced MOS a bit and obviously Returns. Doesn't sound like this story is all that fresh, it's just shined up and repackaged. Not that it means it is bad. I'm still excited as hell, but I'm not expecting to be blown away by the chances taken with storyline. I'm expecting to be blown away by special effects, awe inspiring feats, battles, and more than solid performances by capable actors. To me this is why they hired Snyder, to give the general public a wow factor.

In fact I even remember seeing an interview with him and Joss Whedon from last year sometime, where he even seemed embrassed and reacted with humility when questioned about it.

I read the first and second draft of the script and they are both terrible. It had some decent ideas and moments but as a whole it sucked. That story tried to be new but the end product wasnt Superman at all, imo. MOS will be much better, im sure.

Batman Begins was an origin story, but it was all very fresh. I'm not sure "origin story" means it has to be a re-hash of the same story beats. Hopefully there will be enough new stuff to make it interesting.

In this case, Superman really did need a reboot. Sure a lot of people know the origin story, but it is like a book that has never had a good movie made about it. The Christopher Reeve movies were good, but for its' time. It is not as serious as movies are today, and the material is not taken as seriously as it is today.

It would be like if a book like say, "The Silence of the Lambs" did not have a great movie. The Superman origin story deserves to be told in a way that will be entertaining without all the camp. There is already one movie about the origin with the camp. Lets have a trilogy, or whatever they are planning, about Superman without the camp so those of us that do not like the camp have a Superman movie we can enjoy.

I expect MOS to be like Begins where it's not reinventing the wheel but freshing up a old story. Begins had some very similar plot beats to any other Superhero origin tale but what made it different was the acting, direction, and some character change that were new.

I wish everyone would expand their imaginations instead of making assumptions.

I doubt Zod is going to be the naive, straight to the point guy as before.

Say for example...Superman is getting picked on left, right and center by the world. Then Zod appears...he could play on Superman being distraught. He could lie about what really happened on Krypton (cause I'm assuming he's responsible for the planet's destruction, but escaped rather than get captured as before). Could try convincing Superman that he wants to help the world, but they should do it his way instead of Superman's naive way of thinking. Loads of potential there.

Zod is interesting in this movie cause things are genuinely different. Superman will understandably feel alienated if the world is attacking him just for his good intentions. Zod and Faora will be his last link to his civilisation, and with clever plays and deceit, Zod will play him like an instrument.

So Superman will have to decide where his loyalty truly lies... With us humans or the Kryptonians?

I have a feeling they pushed the film back for 2 reasons...

1.) to make this the most EPIC Superman film EVER and
2.) June 2013 will be the 75th Superman anniversary...so they are probably delaying to coincide with the 75th celebration. Just my guess on that
