All Things Superman: An Open Discussion - - - Part 40

Now that we've had this new info overload it's nice to go back to the teaser for both Pa Kent and Jor-El and realize how beautiful they are, of course it helps that they have Howard Shore's amazing final bit of The Bridge Of Khazad Dum, also watching the trailer I noticed even more Russell Crowe's expression when they're kissing baby Kal-El goodbye and you can tell he's devastated in those 2 seconds of image...

I'm getting very nostalgic (in a good way) now that we're so close, easily my most anticipated movie ever, hopefully it'll live to its expectations.

Hope we all come out of the movie theater with the biggest smile on our faces possible! Cheers to our new Superman!

and I hope this time around, we don't get a repeat of that Colorado shooting with TDKR. :csad:

that was such a sad story, and for me at least, it really dampened my enjoyment of TDKR, even though I waited 3 or 4 weeks before seeing it.

let's all hope and pray that the MOS experience won't be marred by some lowlife scumbag........

You fracking X Handers :argh:

:oldrazz:

I am too. One of the few good things in wrestling today.

But back to MOS :woot:

lol

I haven't been much of a fan of cowardly heel Punk, though. I think WWE creative really screwed him over. I much preferred the "pipebomb" anti-hero Punk. or at least a tough heel who doesn't back down from challenges.......

It looks like Punk will be taking some time off to heal up. so, we'll see how they book him when he comes back.

oh, and I was straight edge long before I heard the word "straight edge" or heard of CM Punk.

and no......I don't have X tattoos all over my body.........:o

but........back to MOS!!

@X Knight

I preferred pipebomb Punk as well, but I think he's done very well with what they've given him.

So if the trailer is rated...what film is it debuting with in cinemas? Oblivion?

and I think Punk himself has said he prefers to be a heel. it's more natural to him.

and it's kind of ironic, since I'm a Superman fan. if you compare Punk to John Cena, people will say Cena is more the "Superman" character while Punk is more like "Batman."

I don't dislike "Superman Cena," but I just feel he needs that "tough edge" that he's lacking.

and maybe that's why I'm liking the MOS Superman. Look at the recent Superman images. They portray strength, toughness, and the sense that this Superman means business.

I'm fine without it being in THIS movie, but being in the next.

It sure looks like it.

Damn...really looks like it's going to debut online first then, was hoping we'd get a trailer bootleg this weekend.

Oblivion already came out over here, was nice.

John Byrne did something great with Kryptonite, when he was writing the Superman books there was only one piece of Kryptonite and it was Mettallo's until Lex took it and had it forged into that ring. Aslong as they only used it like this ill be happy in sequels. Smallville did overuse it but TV budgets meant they could only do so much so you have to give them abit of slack for that.

:wow:

I can see it now...Punk laying another pipebomb, ending with "I am the Night!!"
:lmao:

I don't know if this has been discussed or not but...is Perry wearing an earring in the latest EW picture?

Yes he definitely is the Batman to Cena's Superman, which is probably why their rivalry is so good (it helps that their in ring chemistry is undeniably awesome).

But yeah Cena's Superman persona feels more like a critique or a representation of the critique of superman in modern times. He's too strong, he's too righteous he's just plain boring. It's why I hope the internal conflict doesn't end with Man of Steel, that he doesn't just realise how good he is and in the end he's the superman we all know and love, I want the doubt and the conflict to stay with him and help shape him throughout the trilogy (if there is one). Maybe the Lois story in this film takes a bit of a backseat so it can be delved into a bit more in the 2nd film.

(that off topic change from Wrestling to Man of steel was masterful btw)

Oblivion already came out here in the UK on the 10th so it's definitely not gonna be with our prints but I think we'll most likely get it with Iron Man 3 in the UK. Also interestingly in the UK Monsters University is coming out in July here.

Ah cool, I can't wait to see it.
