I know I got the ComicCon one free in a magazine... I can't remember which one. It was either SFX or Empire.

So I posted Grace's trailer #3 review a couple days ago and NOBODY said a word about it...haha

I had no idea who she was until I did some research. I'm into a variety of geekdom and I've never heard of her. I don't know if it matters what she thinks. Im sure shes lovely and all but talk about obscurity.

To me knowing her is like knowing who is the 'fighting game champion' at a biggest video game tournament.

I think most people stopped after the trailer was over. I know I did. Lol. She has a right to her opinion but I just don't agree with it or the manner in which she presents it (she's comes off as condescending) and I don't think she was going to like it regardless.

I'm listening/watching her right now. Oh I see why she is popular, she is a decent looking blond.

I don't have a problem with her having a different opinion but she seems like ready to hate the film. Which is fine, I'm ready to hate a lot of films.

J J Abrams has been very successful with his work, without doubt.

But he has some serious flaws, which can be seen in his filmography so far.


The difference between Star Wars and Star Trek has always been that the latter has been about the big ideas/ themes, and the former is the spectacle. ST 2009 changed that, blurring the distinction. STID looks to do the same, but the ideas seem redundant now.

But Abrams Flyby proves these flaws better than most. Having read both drafts (2nd one is much stronger, with scenes reused in MI3 and ST 2009), The Obvious flaws are still there. It's a reboot, the villains are other Kryptonians, there's battles with ships/robots. But the greatest flaw is with Clark Kent/Superman. I'm not talking about the silly prophecy idea, but the fact that at NO point in either script does Clark perform a heroic act to show his path to wearing the suit. Abrams completely misses the point of the character - he has powers, he's told to keep them under control at all times. But he never uses them to do anything until he wears the suit - he hasn't earnt it at all.

STAS showed a young Clark that was still a hero - Flyby never did. It's a complete misunderstanding of the character.

yeah I don't really take her too serious. If that trailer doesn't get you excited for a Superman movie NOTHING WILL!

what JJ did with ST is what hollywood is doing to blockbusters. its also what fans hated about hollywood.

Yeah they hated it so much they showed up in droves for the movie.

It's how a director uses his strengths to hide or diminish the relevance of his flaws, because as you said, every director has a flaw(s).

It's not you man, it's her. She isn't worth talking or even thinking about. She's like an annoying mosquito, but since you can't crush her you just ignore her existance, like she ignores YT comments when people call her out on the fact that she is clueless about Superman among a lot of other things.

I'm not trying to be dismissive either, she's an okay speaker at best but not terribly insightful judging by that video so what other reason is there for her popularity?

I'm not hating and I'm not one of those silly women who is jealous of other chicks. I think it's awesome for her that she is making money doing what she loves I just don't see what's so special about her.

I was waiting for her unparalled insight and never got it. Eh, Doug Walker/The Nostalgia Critic and some of his other crew are fun to watch but this chick? Sorry, don't get it.

Kudos for her for having the balls to put her opinion out there though. It can't be easy dealing with those Youtube messageboards.
