There were too many camera zoom-ins during MOS.

I know many of you will be super (hee!) excited to learn that MOS won a poll for best summer film. Woooo!

That can't be true. We all know that MOS was an abject failure that bombed both domestically and internationally. There are no plans for a follow up and it destroyed any chance of Henry Cavil from ever being cast in another film, FOREVER AND EVER! The audience that did see it hated it from beginning to end. :o

Until I came here and saw others point it out I did not even notice the technique used. I thought posters were talking about some kind of super (heh) showy effect of some kind that I had missed. Nope. Besides I think the technique is used like only 5 or 6 times, maybe, tops.

LOLz forever. :hrt::hrt::hrt::hrt::hrt:

The camera zoom-ins did not bother me as much. I actually quite liked them. And I loved the over-the-shoulder shot when Superman is flying down to Earth. Awesome. :)

The thing that bothered me seeing the film 5+ times now is that in some scenes, the shakiness of the camera is distracting. Loved what Snyder was shooting for, but it got redundant in a few scenes. Drop that technique with BvsS

Does anyone want to see something similar to this(0:00-1:40) in Superman/Batman? Not so much a replication but rather various media figureheads talking about Superman in this sort of fashion? When I saw this short film I was thinking to myself, they should have something like this for the next Superman movie. It felt very real-world-esque.

What do you guys think?

I think like in The Dark Knight Returns, they should bring in people like Letterman, Conan O'Brien etc to give various opinions on Superman yes?

That's kind of how I see it playing out. The first film was the introduction to Superman and the sequel is the world's reaction to him.

Hell yes. There is now known to be a totally human looking alien that is the last of his kind living on our planet and staking out a position as someone who will help in times of crisis. What would the consequences be of that in a world where anyone with access to the web is a journalist, where news is broken 24rs a day? He helps all over yet he makes it very clear that he is American by culture and outlook. The remnants of his own race nearly exterminated humanity, and the power on display when he battled the very last one left showed that there is almost no way anyone could oppose him. It's an almost unsolvable puzzle. If I were a scientific genius it would be a problem to solve like no other. Hmmm...

Once you get a DVD/Blu Ray copy, I suspect you won't even notice it any more. The digital theatre I saw MOS in had such crystal clear imagery.

Doubtful.lol It wasn't so much the quality that bothered me, just the shakiness of the camera for those moments since I'm a film major so I took special notice to those moments, asking myself on what the DP was thinking filming like that.

I've said this before... I saw MOS 6 times in theatres and the first 3 times it was only digital for me. When I came to SHHype forums people were making all these "shaky cam" complaints. I had no clue what they were talking about until I saw a standard showing of the film. Then, in every single place that posters complained about the image stability there it was for me. Half the reason I payed out for follow up digital showings was to see if I was wrong.

I think they do something similar in combat movies, don't they, to give it more 'realism'? I think that's what he was going for -- to draw the audiences in so that they could really be a part of the film.

I agree that it was too much jolting. If they could cut down a little on that, I thought that the rest of the film was beautifully done with regards to camera work.

I never even noticed the shaky cam, and I had zero problems following the action scenes. Snyder was trying to emphasize just how fast they were really flying.

Yeah I never noticed the shaky cam after Krypton to be honest. It makes sense for the action IMO cause it just seems like it was someone trying to capture the fight but couldnt keep up with the action which worked for me, if the technique was done in Harry Potter I would agree with ya'll. I didn't notice it really at all in the non action scenes either.

I hope he keeps the style for SvB. I can't stand inconsistency in franchises! Especially recasts!

Did anyone see it in IMAX 3D? My head started to get dizzy near the end of the film. I don't think it was the shakiness of the camera alone, but maybe the 3D and shakiness combined. Though what's weird is that I usually never get dizzy from watching movies 3D or not.

The only time I notice the shaky cam was in the beginning for like 2 mins after that nothing

Yeah MoS has absolutely nothing on The Bourne Ultimatum.

They were trying to put an emphasis on the speed aspect, which I thought worked.

Watch for it in the scene where Jonathan tells young Clark he has to keep it a secret next time you watch the movie. It was pretty jarring for me.

Oh I know it's there I just get used to it really fast

I don't want to see this be a Superman vs Batman movie aka a World's Finest movie. There's too much stuff I want to see in the sequel regarding Superman and his cast of characters to just make it about Batman and his stories/ adventures. Batman has just has three movies devoted to him. Superman hasn't had a decent movie about him since 1980 before Man of Steel, is it not appropriate to have a Superman movie where for once we can have a villain which isn't Lex Luthor or General Zod?

I would like it to be like on the animated Superman series where Batman just guest starred on it. He should not be as much of a focus as Superman in my opinion!!

You could view it as a side thing much like Avengers isn't strictly a direct sequel to Iron Man, Thor, or Cap films that came before it.
