In science fiction, much of the concepts expressed within a specific narrative are actually attainable. That is, they often make sense to some degree within proposed laws of time and space. Such isn't always the case (time travel, for instance, will likely never happen), but it's generally the rule.

Fantasy, in contrast, isn't bound by any real constraints at all.

As for comic book movies, they appear to blend elements from both genres. It's still a work in progress.

If you say so....to me there is not much of a difference between the two in the end.

Fantasy=Fiction and Fiction=Fantasy until proven otherwise IMO....

So do we even know if the variety report regarding Flash being in this film is accurate?

Also, anyone else feel that the Flash shouldn't be introduced as a superhero in this film and that we should just see a powerless Barry Allen, where we can save his origins for a latter solo film?

I'm still surprised that they've announced casting for Batman and WW before the main villain of the film.

that's not odd…casting announcements are made after negotiations and the paperwork is done.

That is probably because WB's and Snyder are trying to snag a big name A list actor as Lex. :cwink:

At least hopefully....

I just would have figured that the casting of the film's main villain would have been made before Wonder Woman's.

They don't cast by importance of character but by availability of the actors they want…so say they want actor x to play Lex but he's shooting until Dec 15th…so they'll move to a character with actors and actresses that are available. It was easier to cast Gal Gadot because with her status as an unknown…she's pretty much available at any time (one of the best reasons to cast an unknown..unlike J-Law who has a pretty full plate).

I hope we get a pic of Affleck in the Batman costume before any additional casting announcements are made.

which brings up the other reason why she may have been cast before Lex or villain…if she appears in costume she'd need to be fitted and would need also need time to get in shape and/or train.

I doubt we'll see the costume until they start production.

Yeah....WB & this film is already going in the dumps, casting bennifer and this flat-chested actress, whom I like, just not for WW.

Already making up your mind against the movie ?

Some fans did that when Ryan Reynolds was cast as Green Lantern, granted the movie was not good but even before the movie started shooting, some fans were hating Reynolds, same thing happened with Ben Affleck and now with Gal Godot.

(Also, I remember Brandon Routh getting some hate when he was announced as Superman.)

WB can't seem to get a break.

is it just a WB thing??? I can't think of one casting that didn't have people complaining

The mcu movies also had complainers.

RDJ was too washed up and short.

Hemsworth was too young, skinny, and had only done tv soaps.

Evans was already Human Torch and that movie sucked. He's too small and not blonde enough.

Ruffalo looks nothing like Norton.

ScarJo isn't Russian or badass.

Sam Jackson is .....damn perfect ;)

I still find it interesting that this movie will likely not have any Bats villains. That just seems odd to me.

and the Fox movies

Jackman is too tall and handsome
Stewart is too on the nose
McKellen is too old
Paquin doesn't look like Rogue
Berry is too short and not african enough

What if MOS 2 was a Romantic Comedy and Batman and Superman are fighting for Wonder Woman's love?

Gadot looks fine:hrt:

What are you talking about? There is Kryptonite in the MOS Universe.

Didn't see that before:wow:. I always thought that when the World Engine was partially terraforming Metropolis, Kryptonite was placed into the Earth as a result. Maybe in the sequel we'll see Lexcorp mining in that area and finding green glowing rocks there?

it seems to be focused more on Superman
That's a good thing, but it just seems odd to me. I would think one of his rogues would be involved in someway just because he's there. He usually tends to draw out his rogues.

Meh...not a big deal, but I do find it odd. I don't think Bats should fight any of Superman's rogues. They are all too powerful for him. That of course never stopped Bruce Timm, but I hope not to see that revisited again.

Oh, The level of hate directed towards Ryan Reynolds and Ben Affleck is lot more than the hate Hemsworth and Chris Evans had to face.

And some still hate Routh, Bosworth, Katie Holmes, Maggie Gyllenhaal and Blake Lively many years after the movie was released.

I will just leave the topic here.

Right. And this Batman is an older, more experienced version. I imagine that he's already faced a good number of deadly adversaries in his time.

True, but none on the level of what Superman has had to deal with, and unless the movie shows something different Superman is the first metahuman/alien to reveal himself. So this Bats shouldn't have faced anything capable of fighting Superman, unless the movie reveals something different.

I think it may boil down to what Batman villain could pose a threat to Superman? Penquin? Joker? Bane?

I was just responding to another poster's concerns, as to why we might not see any Batman villains in Snyder's mash-up sequel to MoS.

It was always my assessment that this would be a batman/superman movie..focusing on them equally…if there are two Superman villains then this may be a MOS sequel that happens to have Batman, Wonder Woman and The Flash in it.

I guess I'm just curious to see how Bats will be incorporated into the story. If it truly is Bats vs. Supes then that will solve the problem, but I would think they would at least need to bring in one of his villains. If for the simple fact who else would know how to handle him?

If I had to pick from the list you presented I would say Joker. Yet, we've all mentioned why bringing him in would be a bad idea. Ledger is still too fresh in people's minds, but WB has to let that go at some point. They have too.

No worries. I'm just catching up on threads and responded. :yay:

It will be interesting to see how this movie shapes out. I'd like to see Wondy and potentially Flash make a brief appearance at the end. However, what role Bruce/Bats plays will be interesting. This movie has the potentially to really be awesome...especially if we see something different then the normal WF story.

You could still say that there's an equal focus I think. An older Batman just won't be the same as the young vigilante who is just starting out or maybe even the one in his prime. Part of his role will be to serve as a mentor of sorts to Clark, imparting his wisdom and such.
