BvS All Things Superman and Batman: An Open Discussion - - - - Part 13

Ya, pure speculation but it seems Batman and Superman will have equal billing. They will probably begin film with them sizing eachother up. Perhaps Batman has been watching the developments of heroes as Superman arrived, and together they will form league by bringing in recruits... of course as the threat of serious villains increase. Lex could be the guy suspicious of these heroes and view them as unauthorized vigilantes with powers that can be threat to national security, which some of the public will agree with. Good stuff ahead if done correctly.

It will be interesting to see how this all plays out. Now that I think about it more it does make sense to bring in more heroes, or others with superpowers since they are not yet heroes, because Superman's presence might be the catalyst for others revealing themselves.

It's strange that we don't have word about Lex yet. He's playing the linchpin in any potential stories, but we don't even know if he's in the movie.

I've been pimping out the idea for Lex/Metallo/Brainiac film since before I was a member of hype. It seems to me this would be perfect for a SUPERMAN film, but with this moving towards Justice League film I'd say chances are good we get other villains in mix.

At least we know the trailer will be pretty freaking badass with all of these characters involved.

One would hope, but I was frankly underwhelmed with the trailer for MOS...so I'm not going to hold my breath.

Trying to stay positive about all this. I think it's very possible that Superman's presence has caused all these other beings to come out of the woodwork. My question is why not bring in GL. This seems like something the corps would be involved with.

Well we don't know what the problem will be. GL might be involved with something more important on another planet, or even getting a possible lead on Darkseid and an earth invasion he has planned.

Good point, my guess on Lex announcement is they are going for a BIG NAME actor and they want a huge spectacle with announcement. I'm thinking Denzel, Pitt, or someone of that calibur is their goal. Lex and Metallo have always seemed like the perfect choice for a SUPERMAN film. Now it seems we are moving towards JL territory. Although with Batman possibly having drones, who knows? Lex could use his technology with Kryptonian technology to change Corben into Metallo. It is easy to speculate, but hard to know. That's why scoopers are baffled right now lol. It looks more like JL than Superman, so a lot of backtracking going on from the logical leaps of rumors with actual casting news coming out.

That's actually what I said in the Lex Luthor thread. Either they are saving a BIG actor announcement to create spectacle, or they are somehow writing this without Lex. I would be surprised to not have Lex with the little nuggets in Man of Steel though.

Well the Corps let Krypton be destroyed and Mars destroyed making Superman and Martian Manhunter the last of their people. Also Brainiac has collected and destroyed about 20 hundred or so planets.

I say their doing a terrific job protecting the galaxy.

This movie could be a two-parter like DOFP seems to be with X-Men:Apocalypse in 2016. It could end with an Apokolips invasion with the League formed for the most part, while the full-fledged JL in 2017 comes afterwards.

Yeah, his stamp was all over the place. Plus considering he's likely going to be part of the rebuilding campaign then he should be there. Yet maybe it will be like in MOS. You'll know he's there, but he's a reclusive billionaire and no one every really sees him. It might be cool to get teases of Lex throughout the whole movie, but not actually see Lex. That's how I would imagine him working anyway.

Someone mentioned the Secret Society earlier and I wouldn't mind seeing that incorporated at a later date, especially with inclusion of all these other heroes and what not.

Thats actually a really good idea man. Im down for an epic two part film....you know just as long as we dont have to wait too long between films. Maybe a rendition of Apokolips Now! From the cartoon.

While he has had a share of failures, sadly he has been much more successful than a lot of the scoopers around. I'm sure he makes up some of his info from logic like the majority do, but some of his info has been on point.
