So guys. I have this idea. Wild, but what if Batman vs Superman is set in the future? Like a good 10, 15 years after MOS. Affleck's Batman is in his mid 40s. They give Amy and Henry makeup for them to look in their 40s. Which could be why there are so many heroes in this movie supposedly popping in, like Kingdom Come + the Denzel Washington as Green Lantern rumor. Or the Rock as Cyborg.

Obviously this doesn't make much sense i just thought id give a whacky thought t:

I'd rather they didn't do that. It would be an interesting approach, but it would feel like a wasted opportunity.

What I do want to see though is for them to show that even someone like Batman can be led down astray (even unknowingly) and that he isn't as infallible as the DCAU claims him to be.

I don't think they will have him be infallible.They describe him as "tired and weary and seasoned and been doing it for awhile". I think we will see a Batman without hope. Someone who sees a city that got worst no matter how hard he fought to clean it up. We may see him as he was when Tim Drake came upon the scene...he's brutal and angry and distracted...making mistakes.

That's kind of what I liked about Nolan's Batman. That Batman made mistakes and had to deal with the consequences. He was actually human! haha

Well, Batman has been presented (more or less) as this infallible character who can't really get corrupted like his fellow Justice League members within the animated series...and even if he is corrupted, he doesn't stay that way.

I mean we've had animated films and episodes showing on how the likes of Superman and the rest of the league could easily become evil and tyrants...hell, look at the Injustice Games as the latest big example, and yet Batman is always the one portrayed as the hero that stays on the right path.

This is actually one of the biggest reasons why I don't want anyone from the DCAU (Bruce Timm, etc) to be attached to the live action one because they'll make batman into "Bat-God" instantly.

DCAU batman is anything but infallible. I know there is a moment in the jlu stuff and TDKR where they didn't highlight that all so much but....
I just don't see how they could progress trough an animated episode every week without using an imperfect character.

I can't remember that brown suited Bruce Wayne of the early TAS era not messing up half way trough each ep. Then we got the old beaten down old guy who had to quit being batman at the start of Beyond...

just seems like a self propagating misconception.

I agree with this. I think its the part of the dark knight returns that they are taking inspiration from, that he just doesn't really care anymore and doesn't just knock out guys but makes them nearly paraplegic, very dark, very careless.
Then he joins Superman in the sun and accomplish wonders!....guys...what if Goyer actually did have a plan all along. t:
