Well, BvS isn't going to mid-July anymore for sure

Another King Arthur film I'm in.

Was anyone aware that BvS is opening a week earlier in the UK? I'm seriously considering flying there.

wait are you serious? how I am I gonna avoid spoilers for an entire week?

I might just have to fly there myself.

Another King Arthur film set to flop ... haven't seen enough of those over the years. Hopefully Ritchie does it right though.

... and either Cap 3 or Batman vs. Superman need to just say screw it and go to the beginning of April ... and do the whole Summer Comes Early this Year and blow the doors off. Cap 3 doing nearly 100 here ... along with the ridiculous #s from Hunger Games in late March show that you can set the box office on fire whenever (except maybe September & January) if people have interest in the film.

It makes sense to open earlier wherever the film critics are more generous CBMs. Thatgis what Marvel does ... Thor 2 had 87% on Rotten Tomatoes prior to being rated by the more rigorous American critics.

WB are staying put on May 6 with that King Arthur move.

I might just have to avoid the internet for an entire week if that really is the case.

I'm a sucker for spoilers.

It will probably open two months late in Australia.

Probably :whatever:

We get Marvel films the same day if not earlier. Avengers and Thor came out almost a full week early.

But MoS was delayed almost three weeks. Same as the Lego Movie. All they're doing is promoting piracy really.

Poor haters, KO'ed again! lol :oldrazz:

;)

I think ppl underestimated how didn't see in theaters caught the film later on via dvd/bluray. This could potentially have a DK type of box office hit right off the gate.

We got the Batman films at the same time, I have no idea what the reason for MoS release delay was. Worse one was GL, it was a full 2 months after the US by which time everyone already knew it was terrible.

I actually liked Fuqua's Roman take. That film had an incredible cast of up and comers at the time. Clive Owen, Ioan Gruffudd, Joel Edgerton, Mads Mikkelsen, Ray Stevenson, Ray Winstone.

It's almost like a medieval Tombstone in terms of assembling an amazingly talented manly cast.

Your opinion. I quite enjoy that movie. :word:

If it doesn't make Dark Knight box office opening weekend ... they'll probably be heads rolling at WB considering Man of Steel already did 128+ million in 3 days ... and some promotional screenings the night prior (compared to TDK 158)

I don't care what WB says publicly ... they have to expect this to do TDK opening weekend #s, MINIMUM ... and they'd be right to expect that based on what they're going to throw out there.

... of course, opening the same day as Captain America would probably make that a little more difficult ... but there is no way those films will come out the same day ... won't be good for appeasing share holders.

oh yeah. i forgot about that king arthur tentpole that they want to make. :funny:

Yeah I remember that. Reading the reviews I tried to keep hope that it would be alright. I was working at a cinema at the time so I went to a midnight showing for free.

Me and my friends debated walking out in the middle, but we agreed to stay out of curiousity of just how much worse the movie could get. At the end when Hal is essentially fighting a cripple and a giant fart we knew we'd made the right call. So at least we got enjoyment out of laughing at the film.

We all have our guilty pleasures.

Guilty as charged hahaha. I think I'm the one person on the earth who likes that movie.

I always get a kick out of Batman & Robin too. I watch it at least twice a year. It's pure entertainment. I'm serious. I love it.

I will say this, even though it won't happen in the unlikely event Cap 3 and MoS 2 open same weekend MoS 2 will have something that not only Cap 3 won't have but also the Avengers 2 won't have - a 75 year build up. It wouldn't even surprise me if the advertising campaign is purely about the history of the two characters. The build up to the Avengers has always been about the present, with all do respect to the characters they don't have the same history in the public conscious that Superman and Batman have, they are very much present day characters in that regard. If I was WB I'd advertise the crap out of that history for this film.

You're not the only one. I dig much of LANTERN a lot.

Kind of like how WB promoted Michael Mann's HEAT, with the emphasis of the performance legacies of Pacino and DeNiro.

Nostalgia is a very powerful marketing tool. In fact if I was WB the first teaser trailer wouldn't even be about the movie, it would be about the history of the two characters. Very simple trailer flipping through pages of comic books over the years featuring the two characters working together with voice over from the film, culminating in a brief shot of a scene from the movie featuring both characters in full costume standing side by side. Don't even need a logo or title to flash up.
