It's somehow funny that someone would think that Nolan's Batman and MoS invalidate what I said.

Some people, on this DC board, are happy with what DC is producing. Some people like the latest DC movies and are rather tired of this DC vs Marvel talk.

This will be my only post about Marvel movies here since I don't want to start a flame war, but did anyone notice the complete lack of reporting on the fact that Cap 2 lost Friday and most likely the weekend to Rio 2 and slid 68% from last Friday and most likely 56-59% from last weekend despite the "Word of mouth will be so much better and legs will be amazing and carry it past MoS easily" talk that had been going on all week on Twitter, CBM and the Box Office Forums.

If MoS had the exact same box office run as Thor 2 did and now Cap 2 is having, then there would have been a million thinkpieces about how Superman is no longer a box office juggernaut and was driven close by an "Urban Comedy" (Best Man Holiday) and a second tier animated movie (Rio 2) on its second weekend.

those things happened. MoS had to deal with monster U. on occasion we get some moron talking about how it was a failure because it didn't make a billion dollars and obviously it's ********, though I'm not going to pretend like i didn't expect it to make a billion dollars because i did. had the nolanverse been part of this new dccu, i think it would have had more legs to it and it probably would have been a lot closer to a billion. and i think that's what wb wanted to do, but nolan didn't want that.

I just made a factual observation, I didn't want to imply people have to like this or that.

Unless someone would say I'm wrong saying Marvel created an extremely successful film universe while DC doesn't have anything that comes close.

Wow. Thanks for actually reading my post about how annoying this "DC sucks and Marvel is better" talk is on a DC board. Do people know there are Marvel boards? Because there are.

Lego Batman's hilarious theme song from The Lego Movie

For those of you who have not watched the movie, each of Lego Batman, Superman, Green Lantern, and Wonder Woman are written as critiques of how they've been presented on film. It's quite funny.

Are they really? I didn't expect that depth from a lego movie. I haven't seen it yet. I'd be curious about the WW and Superman critiques.

I don't blame you for jumping to conclusions, but I really am not saying "DC sucks and Marvel is better". What I said a couple of times is that watching The Winter Soldier futher made me realize how much success Marvel had with its shared film universe and that DC doesn't have anything that can be compared to that.

Am I lying? Am I saying you shouldn't enjoy DC films? I don't think I am.

Now that's something worth elaborating on.

I'm not jumping to anything. I've discussed DC vs Marvel myself at times, but after months of it, I'm done. I would like to discuss DC here. That's why I'm here and not on the Marvel boards. I thought this was a DC friendly place, but quite often...it is not. I find that rather annoying. This isn't about you in particular, just in general.

Lego Wonder Woman doesn't do anything in the movie. As a viewer, I kept expecting her to do something, to have an impact, and she shown to be in a position where she could have an impact, but then she doesn't do anything.

That's a brilliant critique of Wonder Woman's portrayal on film.

I know that I'm not reaching because each of the portrayals for the other three DC heroes were also critiques. She stands out as having the least lines, Green Lantern has the next least, then Superman.

That sounds about right. She probably just hangs out (literally and figuratively) in her spangly panties and does nothing. It's sad really. I hope BvsS can redeem her outside of comics.

I'd say you're grasping at straws here.

She wears a lego bathing suit actually.

We're close reading the Lego film? Geeeeze

The name of the thread is "All Things Superman and Batman". Lego Movie is a fair topic to discuss.

Your comment implies you have not seen the movie, as it's all about social commentary from start to finish.

Got a question: Is Nolan still going to produce/be involved or is Affleck going to exert more of an influence?

I haven't seen it, so I can't comment on any subtext it may have. It'll pay attention when I do see it though.

I imagine he will have some influence, as the Writers for Arrow have to run ideas by him; if the television division of the company has to seek his approval, is not that far of a leap to imagine that he will have some input in the film. Might not be a lot, but there's a chance maybe some.

Nope, these are good writers, they know what they're doing.

Watch The Lego Movie then get back to me.

So, I disagree with you, therefore I haven't watch the film? That's an interesting view.

Anyway, what's your take on flash then?

The only thing I got from the Lego movie was a critique of Batman. Superman and GL seemed to be in a buddy cop movie - played by Tatum and Hill who are in 22 Jump Street by the same directors, and Wonder Woman was neglected, barely a critique. In fact, WW was probably used in the movie just for the invisible jet gag.
